Hey ianA, thanks for covering this. I think what makes this song for me in the guitar licks that John does, that you cover at 0:37, 0:57, 2:37 etc... Like the whistling as well, kinda made me want to hear Guns n' Roses Patience. Hey just like that, another request! Hooray Wave sessions, glad you keep it real and play directly to the camera.
Doing my best! Glad you dug the cover man, always has been one of my favorites, it's just such an honest song with beautiful melodies throughout. I agree, those little licks are my favorite part, I just try to use it sparingly so it's still a feature in the song and not over done.
Kyle Mathews haha yeah man, the whistle solo is my go-to when I feel like the counter melody is too nice to pass up. Can only do so much with 2 hands lol
Yeah true that's awesome lol, the solo is soo good on this song. I wish i could whistle, I've never been able to and it makes me mad haha. I'm just getting back into guitar again after stopping a few years ago and I've always loved playing the first riff to this but I never learnt the rest so you're video is gonna be a big help for me learning the rest. I'm inspired now to learn to sing while playing so I can play this and sing it like you. Keep it up!
it's special run custom model Martin Custom D Classic Rosewood. Basically a D-15 with East Indian rosewood back and sides and a Sitka spruce top, but with A-frame bracing to cut the costs and no laquer finish. It's the poor man's D-28 and it sounds great. No dovetail neck joint either, just mortise and tenon. Also has a rosewood neck and bridge instead of the ebony of a standard series.
Honestly, you just have to keep practicing. Getting the rhythm down and playing at the same time is one of the most difficult things to learn. Some songs are much easier than others - this one has a lot of technicality to playing it and singing it with the finger picking and timing of your strokes. Just have to keep trying!
Awesome!!👏👏👏🎸🎶👍😄
Nice. Love the whistling solo

How can I sing it? I've heard the song thousands of times. I know the guitar riff but I can't sing it and play it at the same time
