My V2 is easily the most reliable dropper I've owned but I'm glad you've redesigned the main seal as that was the only downside. The fact that you've dropped a nice bit of weight from this new version makes it a no-brainer.
Been riding a V2 for 2 years and the only downfall was the wobble. I've serviced my V2 twice (for maintenance) without a single issue and really like it. Now that they fixed the wobble, can't wait to pick one up. 👍
I love small companies like ONEUP, DVO, and PNW because they provide more than often superior products and customer service to their mainstream competitors.
I had a problem with my new V2 dropper and OneUp sent me a V3 without surcharge as replacement. What a great customers service! I am highly fascinated! ❤
Bought a 180mil V2 when it hit the shelves. Best and most reliable dropper I've ever owned. Don't know why I'm concidering a V3 hence my old V2 still runs like a champ 😀
Awwwww I was so much looking for this for a couples years now. I rode 4 OneUp to this day and even how I liked them, I might had a few complains but now they all have been addressed, thanks for caring for the customer and making your products better, we have a gem of a Canadian company here. Best regards
I have been researching dropper posts to add to my new Kona hardtail ad nauseum. After watching dropper post videos on the GMBN and Berm Peak UA-cam channels along with reading reviews on websites like Bike Radar and The Gear Lab I have decided to go with the OneUp V3 as my first ever dropped post! Everything I have experienced so far from the excellent marketing, well illustrated videos and even the dropper post calculator on OneUp website I used to confirm my manual measurments, I am impressed with the way OneUp does business! As a former military combat pro photographer I have a keen eye for attention to detail and all of the products I have reviewed by OneUp seem of top notch build quality! My Kona is STUNNING between the frame geometry/design, gloss plumb color and attention to graphics details not many other top bike manufactures produce..... I am looking forward to making my new bike look even cooler and be more functional than it already is by adding the V3 dropper post!
I have oneup v2 droppers on all my bikes (one of them purchased last month 😅). I only trust them, so much so that I've even replaced a new AXS dropper on my ebike - didn't even give it a chance. Love what you're doing! And yeah extra travel and more reliability are always welcomed!
I have a kenevo SL and for anyone with this bike you need the one up post due to shocking insert depth, was first upgrade.... love the V2 except for the amount of play so great to see that reduced in the V3
love oneup service and designs. looking forward to eventually upgrading my three one up droppers. need that lower profile no matter how minute and insertion depth, the lower and higher one can go the more options to have the perfect saddle height. love the skf and smoother actuation updates as dirt can slow down and cause more services. Love that you charge fair prices, amazing, lever, grips, pumps 70 + 100cc, multitool (Except chain link), alum pedals x2 have been great as well and are better in many ways than other brands with the innovative edge.
I like how you didn't throw shade at PNW. I had a OneUp really struggle in the mud. PNW is my go to, but OneUp it I need that low stack. Love the OneUp bars though!
I just hope it has enough pressure to lift a seat that has a tool bag attached. I have a V2, and like the fact that I can increase the pressure to accommodate the weight of the bag. My V2 has been great by the way.
I've got the same dropper like Remy (ok, V2, but hey...) and also the same bike (okok, Tyee CF5, but...). If only i could ride like Remy!!! 😭 Apart from that - love my V2s. Have them on 2 bikes. On one of them i switched from a Transfer. Best decision ever!
One of the things I love about the V2 is the easy maintenance. This included the ability to add air. How is it better that the V3 has a sealed cartridge? When it needs air I need to get a new cartridge. Waste, hassle, expense. How long is the cartridge guaranteed to last?
The whole post is under warranty for 2 years, including the cartridge. The cartridge is recyclable after discharging the oil. The V2 cartridge lost most of its air at the valve and so by eliminating the valve we have eliminated the air loss.
@@oneupcomponents_official I guess time will tell. Personally I think I'd rather add air now and again than have to shell out $120 to buy a new cartridge. I guess we will see how long they last.
@@JILZ22 I agree. I would rather add air myself when needed. One of my posts, from another company, sticks down at times and I think it only needs a little more pressure but doesn't have a valve to add air. My wife has a post that doesn't have a way to change pressure and it's too high so she struggles to push it down with her arm when needed. Frustrating.
@@JILZ22 Yeah I'd have to echo this sentiment. I have a Fox Transfer that was factory rebuilt and it wasn't long before it was weak. If I could bump the charge up it would be great, but I can't. I was always jealous of being able to reinflate the V2 in the home shop, but I guess that's been done away with.
wow looks like amazing! i'll definitely go full One Up parts on my next bike ^^ Is that Remy Metailler on the video ? Propain bike, Iridescent parts, riding style, nose manual, looks like the exact same place too ^^
Put a 210 on my Trance a couple years back and grabbed a 180 for my Big Al Singlespeed build last year. Cannot fault your V2's- so i guess I'll need to build another bike so i can try out the V3!
What I liked about OneUp, is they are affordable for the quality. In 2021 I bought a V2 dropper post for 263$ CAD, now its 365$. $100 in 3 years is a big step. This is an increase of 38.8%. I still like the product, but its value for money is not as good. Are you gonna hold the V2? Because I was satisfied
Recently bought a Brand New V3 Dropper 31.6/210mm and it has a sag straight from the box ranging from 3mm-6mm. I already sent you an email regarding to this.
I have two V2, the only issue is if you’re sitting on the seat, other words slightly loading it, the thumb force is more than double what you need if you are not sitting on the seat to press the lever. Has this been fixed with the V3
Just tested this on my own V2 dropper after seeing your comment: I’m going to assume there’s cable/housing wear on your posts, or the posts themselves have not have been serviced in a while. On my six month old OneUp post, the difference between loaded vs unloaded minutes after I’m typing this out is in fact perceptible (I’ll give you that), however on my few trail rides this week it isn’t noticeable whatsoever, let alone a reason to discount the performance of these posts considered their price point.
I had the same thing happen with my X fusion Manic. I've found out that if I sit slightly further forward or just apply pressure on the nose of the saddle it goes down very easily without a problem.
Does it still score the front of the stanchion when used on integral clamps like Whyte used? Both mine and a mates V2 scored up despite being only just tight enough not to rotate.
I liked the old version in terms margin for good product but i was always bit frustrated of the side movement in bushing pins and bit of rattle sound from that. If this is solved in new version…. Lets celebrate 🎉
I have been running the V2 for a couple of years, but I decided to treat myself to the V3 today. It pains me to say it, as my V2 has been excellent, but my V3 is absolutely awful! The rise and fall is making a metallic, gritty sound. The force needed for it to drop and rise is ridiculous too. I have to push the lever probably 3 or 4 times harder than the V2 to get it to actuate - it actually hurts my thumb. The force needed to push it down is far too much as well. I decided to do a quick search to see if anything came up, and it seems I am not the only one to have come across this issue. What's going on? I'm hugely disappointed.
It is great, but better make affordable titanium 165 mm cranks, I don't wanna pay a fortune for eeWings. Have v2, despite regular cleaning and service - has scratches and play. And foam part for axle isn't in rebuild kit. Not good. Send us one dropper for thorough tests in Siberia trails :)
I like my V2, but the sensitivity to seat collar torque is annoying. The difference in torque between the maximum to allow dropper movement and the minimum to hold it in place is very small. Anything more than a couple of Nm and the post won't move. Ease off too much and the whole post moves. It's pretty much the same with PNW.
Nice! Can i get a wireless one? Trade the rubber thumb for a knurled leather surface or textured surface polymer. The thumb pad wore out in less than 6mos on mine. Looks like some really nice well thought out consumer friendly engineering. Bravo 👏👏👏👏
Great. I should have waited a few more days before ordering on your website only a few days ago…at least I know now why you had a sale on the V2…have not even received it yet and here’s a V3 of it…..😡🙄
Service costs on OneUp droppers just tripled ! Disappointing this is such a downgrade from the V2. Switching from a recharge cartridge to a sealed unit is bad for the consumer. Instead of just lubing and adding air to service the dropper (like the V2). Now when the pressure goes down in the cartridge you have to buy a replacement cartridge… I’ve been using droppers for over a decade. And have had half a dozen different brands. My Fox became obsolete when adding air to it needed a factory rebuild that was the same cost as a new Fox dropped on sale. X fusion had the same thing, dropper worked fine other than cartridge needing more air which required a new cartridge that wasn’t cost effective.
Most of the air loss from a cartridge comes from the valve. So by eliminating the valve we have eliminated the need to add air to it. The cartridge is covered by a two year warranty and is fully recyclable after letting the oil out. The service interval for the V3 also increased to 350hrs. That being said, the V3 cartridge is a bit more expensive if you do have to buy one.
I love my V2 but the sealed nitrogen cartridge was a bad call guys. The cartridge will be worth more than the used dropper in 2 years. People will choose to throw out their v3's rather than service them. You can hardly find used V2's even in this bike market because V2's are infinitely serviceable, no one feels the need to get rid of them. Meanwhile sealed cartridge droppers like Fox Transfer's are $50-100 everywhere used and $100-150 new.
@@oneupcomponents_official I just bought a 30.9 Lev Ci because of its light weight but this thing is lighter so I'm going to have to dumpster my Lev. I have a v2 on another bike but my fat friend rode my bike and killed it. Don't let fatties ride your bike!
Not sure why there is so much hype about this. I have a V2 and it's the worst dropper I have had. Felt just ok when new and it gets gummy and sticky very quickly. Lever action is also garbage even after changing the remote to a wolftooth. I have to disassemble everything every couple months to clean the internals just so that it feels not terrible. My old raceface affect was better. My favorite dropper on my other bike is the x-fusion manic, now that is smooth as butter and super light thumb action.
well, they said they got new bushings for it. So maybe it feels better. But I agree the v2 feels like two galvanized pipes sliding against each other no matter how much slickoleum I jam in there.
All promotional videos should be like this. Tell me what it is, what it does, how it does it, give me specs and show it in action. Thanks OneUp.
And no annoying pretentious microsoft/crowd funder type musak.
