Decent videos 👌🏻 Can you do a video using apple car play or android auto?
Great video, i know this is a app video but have you got any plans on making a settings video for people in the uk? I know you touched up on some settings maybe have a vid for all setting you did when you got the unit? I know you mentioned some setting like for the skip button on the steering wheel on the forum, more stuff like that would be a great vid?

I assume that the cluster gauge navigations instructions in the J11 don't work with this unit? I'd be interested to see how the cluster guage display works with this unit. And how much can be controlled with the steering wheel buttons.
Also, can you demo TLink in a bit more detail?
So happy you released this! Can you uninstall the apps that the system comes with if you have no use for them?
Thanks. Half the apps you can see me swiping past are apps I installed afterwards. They can be freely removed. I just wanted to show the responsiveness.
The system apps can't be removed by dragging to the top. But if you remove system apps like "Color", you will lose that feature, and may struggle to find the program again. So probably better to rearrange and keep your most used apps at front. 👍

Thank you very much for this excellent video which helped me immensely . The Aux L & R out wires were labelled AUX L IN & R IN on the sub loom and AUX L & AUX R on the main loom but other than that the unit was very similar indeed.
Could you please tell me if it is possible to set up a bluetooth hotspot from my Iphone to provide working internet whilst away from home.
I can link the unit to my home wifi but other than the apps provided on carplay2. I cant seem to get it to share wifi with a phone.?
Very helpful, thanks! I installed a unit just few month ago to my 2015 X-trail. Everything is working fine, I have only two issues - one is that image from 360/reverse camera is much darker than in original unit and second - for some reason the sound from connected mobile device just stopped playing on the car speakers (e.g. spotify or youtube when played on the phone) few days ago. It was working fine before, bluetooth connection is alive and I can make calls.Also sounds play well from the radio or unit's own youtube/spotify (when I am connected to wifi in my garage). What could be an issue?
Is your car a qashquai or xtrail also in one of your vids think u said sat nav that's already on it doesn't have navigation sounds (left, right) so does Google maps have it 😁

Heres a question for you, you know when parking and you get close to something at the front, the cameras trigger on by themself. Does that still happen when the bew system is installed. Great set of videos btw

ParkAssist only works if your car model came with it (usually tekna)

Do you know if there is any Head Unit on the Market that allows you to insert a SIM Card from the front so you don't have to purchase the SIM Card before installation?
Not that I know. You can route the simcard holder to the glovebox and you'll be able to swap sim at any time.
You say the tlink app is where to choose between android or CarPlay, does it mean you get to a menu where you can select CarPlay when you have an iphone and just have the regular CarPlay system on the screen right ?
Not using TLink means you're using the android OS on the headunit.
TLink is an app you can use which starts Carplay or android auto. This is where your phone pretty much streams content straight to your headunit and you'll have access to select apps directly from your phone.
I’ve just fitted one, but my reverse cameras are inverted and showing the wrong sides: any ideas? Also the hotspot connection drops all the time, even though I’ve turned on auto connection and have connected my phone etc, it’s getting quite frustrating

I'd change every Qashqai radio if I could. Every model without Carplay/AA is a must I'd say :)

@@mauricewal Overall it's a better unit. Your factory system with Carplay/AA passes the baseline. Just need to consider if the bigger screen and the little extras is worth the money and that's an individual choice. But considering the amount of money out cars worth. The amount of money we spend on phones these days.. yes I'd personally do it for the screen alone.

I would say its ok at low speeds, but not good the faster(louder) the car goes. Maybe it's because my car is RHD and the mic is on the left. Are you from a LHD country? I have been planning to setup the external mic and see the difference. Maybe let us know if you get to it before me.
@@iceze from the UK, so probably have the same experience. It’s a shame you can’t use the built in mics!
@@stew.c I've looked at all the options, and that's a no go. I do have a plans to mod it and hide the external mic. Just haven't got round to making the video.

Hi, do you know if is tlink still working with android auto?, I cannot use it anymore, it just don't connect . Even with Bluetooth connected, the radio connected to de mobile hotspot and the app zplus installed (zlink is not available anymore)
what’s the best way to connect carplay? is it done wireless or do you have to connect your iphone trough the usb connector between the chairs
Make sure Bluetooth is connected and open TLink. Should connect wirelessly in seconds!
Hi I need help I have one of these but have problems with sound on sat nav I have tried tomtom, waze, Google maps but I have very low sound people said turn up volume when I hear the sat nav which I do then the sound for music is to loud

Hi there, installed my unit a few weeks ago but having trouble with a couple of niggles if you could help please ? The first is, the car icon that comes on when you first start up and shows the wrong door being open i.e shows passenger not drivers door for right hand drive. The second dislike is the head unit goes off as soon as you have the ignition off unlike the original radio etc. which stayed on until you say opened the driver’s door to exit, which was ideal for listening to the radio with the ignition off if your just sat in the car. Also the original radio would stay on for approx 20 mins before switching. off to save power, you could also restart the radio /display at any time without the ignition on, the sinosmart unit require the ignition on all the time which is a pain when download or playing around with the unit, it would be ideal to have a fix round this if possible.
You can adjust time off by going into settings and adjusting the "sleep time". I think by default you can choose 1 hour, 1 day or 3 days.
Basically what this will do is turn the screen and sound off when you turn the ignition off, but leave the device running in the background for however long you set. In that state, boot up will be instantaneous like turning on a tablet. It will only fully power down once the car ignition has been off for the timescale you selected. Just bear in mind that it will be gradually draining the battery so if you don't do a lot of long journeys to counteract that, I'd go with the more conservative setting like an hour or 1 day.

hi ,yes I did this and the head unit does go off when the ignition is switched and will boot up instantly if used again before the timer setting as not expired, but I was hoping for the unit to stay on without the ignition until the door is opened as my factory fitted unit used to do. This was handy when you where just sat in the car for a short while and just listening to say the radio and didn’t want the ignition on. Now with this sinosmart head unit I have to switch on the ignition all the time to use the unit which means everything switched by the ignition is also draining the battery. I did ask sinosmart about this and was told it wasn’t possible because it was a safety issue which I cannot understand the reason why.

@@mauricewal Hi there, when I asked the Question the Sinosmat guys they said it was for safety reasons but I don’t think this is correct, you need to have the engine on to have the head unit operating , not sure which connection you would need to connect too for the power to be permanent ? I find it a pain having the engine on when you want to set up apps etc.

I have a dasaita model and the main issue I have is that I can’t use CarPlay and wifi at the same time, if I want to use wifi via iPhone I have to disconnect CarPlay. Is this the same as yours or does it work seamlessly, thanks.
That's a great question. Tbh I only have tested carplay briefly, and intend to do separate videos for both later.
I mainly just use the device apps, but I definately would be using it (or androidauto) for long journeys.
If it's wireless Carplay, I think the app connects the phone and headunit through a direct and private WiFi connection.
Maybe you could make a video of what's happening and what you expect and then link it? I'd be happy to test it here this on this unit.

Yes, same thing with me. I have the sinosmart in my qashqai. wifi and carplay wireless dont work simultaneously. Its not the fault. its just the way the system works. Best way to use the carplay from USB and then use Wifi.
@@handlewithart yep I was coming to the same conclusion that wired was the way to go for both.
I have the same issue with Android Auto in my X-Trail. If I use a Bixby routine on my S21, I can put my phone in WIfi Hotspot mode when it detects the car is connected over bluetooth. The issue is the the Wifi gets switched off after using the Tlink app and it doesnt come on automatically so I have to go into settings and switch it on again. Im hoping that an update will come out that if tlink is closed down, it switches Wifi on automatically.

It will come on by itself when you put it into reverse. Just let Sinosmart know when ordering that you have the single cam ☺️
Hi I have just installed my system in my Quashqai how do you change the door opening option on the screen , when opening the drivers door the passenger door shows up even though the option is set to right hand drive. many thanks

Can the screen be split for multiple tasks? For example, half navigation (googlemaps) and half for music playing with album art appear.

A DAB receiver is needed. It's a USB module.

Is this only with videos? In which case maybe download a different player. If this is with all apps, try resetting the device?

There are different models. Some lower specs. I recommend the 4gb ram models.

You can install any Satnav app on it like you do with your phone (or use carplay/android auto). I mainly use Google maps and Waze.
@@iceze Some QASHQAI come with SAT NAV so wondering if that Transfers Across on to this UNIT

You have to press and hold the call button for short while. The 360 app isn't needed, as it's for other cars without factory camera. Try joining the Facebook group for help. Easier than typing here

I do not how to reach parking assistant. Holding Answer button on steering wheel not working. App to bind buttons not working as well. Also I cant answer or reject the phone call pressing wheel buttons. Also clock on screen between gauges not working.
Make sure your pin conector is connected
@iceze The issue was canbus model. It was set to VW instead Nissan. All issues are gone.

I just noticed that the park Assist doesn't work in my version of the Sinosmart screen, is there any reason why?
Is it enabled in 'Car Settings'? Do you have the button? The engine also needs to be turned on for the PA button to work.
Any ideas how to enable the sim unit can't seem to see it ?
Put the simcard in and reset the unit once. Should work after that

I seem to lose all Bluetooth/wifi the setting when I switch off
Check cabling is seated again. Mainly the black plug. If it's loose and losing constant voltage, it may be forgetting settings.

You shouldn't need to, as everything comes working and newer firmwares could be worse in ways. But you can find OTA through the menu and update from there. Remember to keep you car turned off. Any interruption can brick your unit!
