My god, Tim Follin is an absolute wizard with the genesis sound chip. This is sincerely one of my favourite genesis tracks ever, I could listen to it all day. It's a shame that the game never saw a proper release.
Well, WHAT sound chip isn't well used in the hands of Follin? Commodore 64? Outclassed ANYTHING out of the system by a titanic margin? NES? It almost seems like there was extra channels that weren't there. SNES?At points it gets borderline CD quality SOMEHOW. Seriously, you could probably could give him a literal toaster and he would make kick ass music with it
@@scissorman44 And he actually HAS made bangers with a literal toaster, or the closest musical equivalent to one being the ZX Spectrum beeper. THAT THING only has 1 channel and one fixed volume yet he still managed to make decent music with it!
I know Tim didn't really care about the gamplay his music was added to.....he was a madman that bended caveman chips into ethereal funky mutants. All of his tracks were criminally under appreciated, the very definition of being ahead of his time. But god damn, I dunno who owns the rights to his music but a rhythm game should be built around the music he made.
*goes through Tim Follin NES songs* Holy crap how do you even get that out of the NES sound chip *Sees genesis in next video title* What wizardry will he do now (and boiiii did he do something with the genesis this man better be a millionare)
Dankest Memelord Problem with Tim Follin (and actually most Amiga composers) is that he almost always scored obscure games and people don't even realize such talent existed. To a much lesser degree, Rob Hubbard and Jeroen Tel suffer a similar fate. This is sad.
Unfortunately, composers aren't paid nearly that much, especially when they work on unpopular games that don't sell much, and as such don't get much royalties.
Zzyzzyxx3rd I figured. Tim Follin also used the same number of sound channels with the songs he composed for the SNES games (out of 8 except for the introduction songs). I did see an oscilloscope video of all the songs from the game and, yurp, five out of six FM channels for all the songs except for the intro. The game over theme also used six channels (from what I've seen in the oscilloscope video).
Well, this Mega Drive version of the game was never released, and it's based on a 1993 TV series of the same name! See it as part of the 'Tim Follin series', that is, the games that he composed for! Unfortunately this is the only FM synth soundtrack he ever made!
Oh hey ^^ I saw your comment on a YTP made by iteachvader and thought your profile pic looked pretty cute so I checked out your channel. This video was the one the channel showed me first, so I just decided to put a comment here ^^ I see you're into furs? Based on some uploads and some art I'm seeing, you have good tastes! =3

Tim Follin is a guy who knows what he's doing. He knows how to make anything sound godlike. Check out Plok! on SNES to be amazed as well.
@@team56th He actually did music of a bunch arcade ports like Bubble Bobble, Bionic Commando, and Ghouls and Ghosts.
kinda impressive how good this soundtrack is tbh
3:20-3:40 sounds like it could have been made by Deep Purple :D
Since Tim follin was a huge fan of 70s Rock, this is no surprise to me :)
I'm so glad there's more! I was blown away by the title screen music. If only the Follin brothers would have composed more for the Genesis.
It sounds like more than 6 FM channels were used. The work of Tim Follin is amazing!
This track uses only 5 channels. The Intro Theme from Time Trax is the only one that uses 6 channels.

I needed that, thanks!

Hehe yes
I was afraid this game was never going to get dumped. I'm glad that was shown to be incorrect.
SANMEDINA 😂❤
Wow, almost four minutes before looping.
playing the music at x1.25 is what it sounds like on NTSC systems, and, in my opinion, sounds even better than the normal speed.
This music was made for a PAL Sega Megadrive.
More exactly 1.2 but okay.
0 dislikes!! nice.
I'm glad that nobody dislikes Tim's Mega Drive masterpiece!
@@TenshiCat Still 0! All is well
Yeah, I get that sometimes.
still have these saved? looked for these for a while now with no success :(
I know I'm three years late, but in case you're still checking, Project2612 and Zophar both have the files up for grabs for free.
