Video should be called "how to sharpen a knife with a can of beans, plywood, glue, a block of wood, a protractor, pencil, saw, sandpaper, vice, drill, magnets, planer, oil, scissors, rubber feet, and two hours of spare time.
For some knives, a shallower angle is used which makes them sharper but the edge is less durable. I think usually Japanese knives are sharpened to 15 degrees and most European ones to 20.
@@imadethischannelhe means: why didnt you sharpen the entire cutting Edge surface on the knife? Why just the middle? Cause now you havent sharpened the part closest to you (the heel)
Very good BUT: How do you open the can for the beans now??? Sieht gut aus und funktioniert, ABER: Wie kommst Du jetzt an die Bohnen in der Dose? Gruß Tino
The way you made straight 20° аngle cut is amazing. Perhaps, you dont have a lathe machine to turn the round piece of sharpener? I have a feeling that you might have enough skills, but witouth machine.. don t you?
1000 years from now someone finds your jig without knowing what is the use of such device, looks for some details on them internets, but cannot test it because they don't use knives anymore and after accidentally dropping the can and a red liquid comes out of the . . . device, they conclude: _ahh, so this is the lubrication liquid, but how did they got it to get on the abrasive side? Anyways, interesting people the 2000'neers._ P.S. Very nice to watch, your work process. Also, nice to see the replication of overpriced products. Cheers.

Yes, catchy title idea!
You need to sit back and take a long hard look at yourself in the Mirror. You're Cooked.
Amazing. Great work!
Thanks!
Nice! I cut off the end of an old table leg for my abrasive roller. It's too big and this is a great idea for a substitute.
Thanks! It works great. But I’m a bit scared that one day I’ll drop it and all the goo comes out :)
Great work!! But, when to use the 15 degree angle and when to use the 20 degree angle?

Yes, you are back! I recently discovered your page.. its fantastic!!
Thanks! I’m glad you like it!
Very cool.... How come you didnt sharpen from the heel of the knife?
Thanks! I’m not sure what you mean. But I think as long as you end up with polished surfaces it doesn’t really matter how you do it.

where do you get the rubber tires??
They are gaskets that I ha lying around.
Very original! I take into service 👍
Well done, Mr. Horl 😃
Haha, thanks!

With a knife this sharp you can slice it right open.
@@imadethischannel 😂🤣😅😉
So easy!

I would love to have a lathe at some point. But with too many technical aides, it also becomes boring at some point..
@@imadethischannel good point. The bean can as a constructional element is quite entertaining to see:)
Very impressed. Where did you get your uber strong magnets from?
Thanks for watching! I ordered them on the internet.
Just a suggestion, don't start cooking the bacon and eggs prior to making this sharpener, it may end up frazzled !
Yes, it was VERY crispy.
4:09 Ouch, says the saw blade.
Indeed 😬
I have Only a can of pineapples there... Can i use that too?
I guess it’s worth a try ;)
Going to have to try this out and thanks for sharing it!!
Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Thanks!
@@imadethischannel You're welcome and thanks for sharing that!!

I don’t think I understand this ;)
@@imadethischannel ❤️👍👍
Okay-but what happens when you get hungry? How do you get to the beans inside?
You smash it with a really sharp kitchen knife.
Diy horl sharpener.

Haha, thanks. I wonder if the stuff will still be red in a thousand years, though :)
Thanks for showing. This will save me a lot of money (and its pretty much the same construction as the Woorl sharpener)
Thanks for watching. I haven’t tested the Horl thing myself but it seems that it may be a bit more sophisticated ;)
@@imadethischannel true, but at the end: it sharpens knives in a specific angle with a cylindrical thing 🤷🏻♂️😅
That's not going to be square. Pull tab nubbin
Well, good observation:) I sanded it down to the rim of the can on both ends, though. So it should be fine.
Excellent build and video man!! I am absolutely making this!
Thanks, go for it!
Fantastic work, dude! Really well done! 😃
Brilliant jig indeed!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks! Stay safe with your family as well!
Tumblr donut like this
I think they won’t mind :)
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Simple y egectivo. Gran trabajo
Пальцами помидор выдавил, типа нож тупой ... 🤣
The way to sharpen your knife is quite cumbersome. I have a video tutorial to make it simpler and more effective, you can refer to it. ❤🎉🎉🎉
Ok, which one exactly?
Bro, just learn to freehand...
Fantastic work as always. The knife looks so sharp.👍👍
Thanks! It‘s actually a pretty crappy knife but the thing got it super sharp!
