But can we trust UA-cam not to compress the audio comparisons - are we hearing anything close to what you heard? (Uploading audio in 24bit 48Khz Wav format seems to be the best option for UA-cam videos)
I just got back from a 220 mile overland trip in Black Rock Desert/ High Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Can the R1T do such a trip without recharging? What is the R1T range on an extended overland? If you drain the battery in the back country can you recharge it using a portable gasoline or propane generator and how many miles due you get per gallon of gasoline or pound of propane?
It might be able to depending on the trip route. There is another video by Best Laid Plans called "Last Minute Camping - RIVIAN R1T" where they show all stops and waiting they ended up doing and even scarily got down to 3% on their battery. It's one scenario to give an example of how the range works out. So many factors change the variables like headwind, weather, and road grades.
add height adjustable rails, maybe replace the tunneau cover with a drawer system, and add a roof top tent, and perfect overland EV! has anyone done range test off road?
Love the manly hand-grinding coffee scene. That's my stance when grinding while camping, too. Also, I was pleased to see Merit coffee being used! Thanks for the video!
as far as speaker, I'd spend half the money of both and get something like a Ultimate Ears Boom or Megaboom and that's a good outdoor speaker. I had it with me for a week on a lake, and i only took it down to like 40% batter with frequent day & night use. Good sounds. BTW, testing and playing speakers on youtube audio only shows how good MY speakers/headphones are, not really teh quality of the speakers you are showing. (also, UA Boom or megaboom is shock proof and water resistent, plus, ti floats, but no night). Also, yo9u can buy some bright LED lights that you could plug into the rivian's plugs, and even an indor/tent safe heater you could plug into the back outlets of the truck. (I have some you can plug into my Jeep for camping). , or to a portable power station like a jackery, etc.
maybe you crashed Kyle car because you were trying to hold your phone, which is a difficult task while driving on track mode. if you had this phone mount on his car you may have avoid crashing his Model S 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just don’t wreck it
Too soon.
I think the Rivian has the ability to setup a Wi-Fi hotspot using its connectivity so would have been possible to run the the HomePod off of it

I mean, when in doubt you can sleep in the gear tunnel...
Wearibg allbirds and driving a rivian - that guy‘s living the life
In a lot of ways, Maverick is a Rivian lite 😂
Weirdly the air compressor never crossed my mind for things like air mattresses when camping. This truly is the perfect adventure vehicle
Now Rivian offers camp mode to use the air suspension to level the truck. They read your mind!
You just shifted gears cool!!
You didn't crash this one? 😁😁😁
thanks fun video. How are our friends in Alaska doing that post on this channel?

Leave it to Out of Spec to have a video for my exact question!
Thanks for your sharing!

Curious, why didn't you just buy a IKamper to sit ontop of the truck bed instead of inside of the truck bed?
I had one I rented on Turo for 4 days..I was surprised by the poor ride quality on road with 20’s.
Would love to know, how long does it last while camping. Assuming you have all the outlets turned off, and all the lights turned off.
Air down those tires?! 😮
Those damn bugs!

how are our friends who were going to Alaska???
Why are all the door handles always popped out like that?
i wish rivian would throw away that stupid speaker and put in portable power station. or at least give an option
That’s a good idea. Wouldn’t be surprised if someone comes up with an aftermarket version

That bed is sooo small it's hilarious, it's worse than the tiny bed they put on regular half ton crew cabs these days.
It is basically the same size as a Ford F150 bed and about 6" longer with the tailgate down. So it is better, not worse.
