- Jeep Gladiator Build 35" Tires and 3.5" Lift - Walk Around
CHECKOUT THE BUILD UPDATE!!! • From basic to BEAST! J...
I've had my Jeep Gladiator for over a year. I've spent the last year off roading in Colorado and working on my Jeep Gladiator build.
I want to walk through my build so far and talk about some of my choices. I picked the Jeep Gladiator, because I wanted the utility of a truck with the ability to get off road and explore.
I decided to get the base model Sport with the Max Tow Package, so I could build the Gladiator to my needs and personal taste.

Just uploaded an updated build video check it out!!! ua-cam.com/video/EHw2g5-XhGw/v-deo.html
That’s a good build. Not over the top like so many other builders. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! A lot of the other builds are cool but more than what a typical person needs or can afford 💰🤣
Nice job
Really like the back seat molle. Well done on your Jeep!
Thanks! The back seat molle has been nice trying to really maximize space.
That 3.5 does look amazing on 35’s. Sketchy Jeep ran that JKS lift with 35’s as well before going to 37’s. Always been a fan of that look. Just may go that route with mine. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! I considered 37s but then I would have to seriously consider regearing. The 8 speed transmission doesn't have a problem with the 35s.
I too am a fan of the 35s on the 3.5 lift. 37s are great too but I just dont want to spend the extra coin and I like the look. Great review and build.
Thanks! Yeah, with 37s you have to seriously consider regearing which ain't cheap. 35s have worked while for me so far.
Looks great! My gladiator is my daily work truck. Yours is clean and it appears you’ve been methodical in your purpose and build. I look forward to more content.
Thanks! I’ve been turning to thing through the build. It’s been funny and frustrating 🤣
Really impressed with your build. I also have gone t his route, tricking out my Glad to my wants, needs and taste. Keep up the good work.
Thanks! It’s fun to build a Jeep for your needs and taste. Only problem is I always find something I want. It never ends 🤣
Glad I found your channel. Like what you've done and certainly gives me thoughts about what I need vs what I want. You may have saved me a ton of cash and I thank you for that.
Thanks! Yeah it’s hard to figure what you do and don’t need. 40” tires, and a 6”’ lift are cool, but necessary… I’m trying to build a Jeep that will do 90 percent of the trails in Colorado. Don’t need anything crazy to do that.
Great build!
Thanks!
Nice build love how organized the bed of your Gladiator is thank for the video
Thanks! Maximizing space is important.
I love the build of your jeep it just looks right. 👍
Thanks!
Sweet built sir
Thanks! I did an updated build video if your interested
ua-cam.com/video/EHw2g5-XhGw/v-deo.html
Very nice. I like the organization in the bed. 👍🏼
Thanks!
Awesome build my friend
Thanks
Good tires and a winch = lockers way down on the buy list. That build looks good.
Agree! 💯
Very nice build! I like the mild upgrades… I think too many build big for the looks… I like to build small with lots of reliability and plenty of capability.
Great video, thanks for sharing!
Thanks!
Nice simple build , with not to much . I like it
Thanks!
Awesome build! We just got a 2020 Gladiator Sport last weekend and are so excited to begin our build. Well done!
Thanks! I’m really happy with mine. I’m sure you’ll be happy with your. Good luck with your build!
It cool to see your channel growing. You have put out a lot of great videos with good content. Keep it up brother!
Nice looks real nice
Thanks!
very nice, just order my 3.5 suspension lift kit for my Rubicon and a set of 35" tires, and i hope it will look as nice as yours.
Thanks! Yours will look nice 35s and 3.5 lift is a tough without being over the top. In my opinion.
Nice!
Thanks!
So I hadn’t even thought about molle storage behind the back seat like that. I did however discover the back seats can be locked in the up position using your key. Have you realized that yet? I didn’t even notice till about my 4th week in my JT🤣. Great video sir.
Yeah I know it locks but I had my gladiator for about a month before I knew it 🤣
How you doing... Very nice very clean what you've been doing to the Gladiator really like it
Thanks!
Did you swap out the front fenders? My sport doesn’t have DRLs
It's like most tools, lockers you may not need, but when you do it will make the job much easier. The Max Tow has, sort of, a locker in the rear. I'll be adding ARB air lockers to the 2021 Jeep Talk Show Sport S Gladiator. I haven't put 35's on it yet, but glad to see that 35's look good. I was looking at those "Swing Case" That's a pretty good idea, I just wish it was more substantial than plastic.
I'll eventually get lockers. It's just a big expense. I was talking to my local Jeep shop and they said if I get lockers I should seriously consider regearing or vice a versa, because there is very little extra labor. Opposed to get lockers and later paying for labor again to regear. The "Swing Case" has worked well so far I wouldn't put anything to valuable in it tho since it is plastic.
very nice, curious why you went with a 3.5 lift instead of a 3”?
What wheel specs and model?
Just got my brand new sport s gladiator. Ordered the RC 3.5 lift. Planning on running 35” on 17’s. I’m not into crawling or anything, I just need clearance for dirt roads and snowy conditions since we go into the California mountains a few times a year. Would I need anything by other than the lift and the wheels? I did order a steering stabilizer as well. Awesome jeep, thanks for your videos. Cheers.
Congrats on the new Gladiator! You should be good with the lift and 35s. That what I have and my Jeep has done some pretty technical trails with no problem.
@@MoreDirtMoreDistance awesome. Thanks a lot.
If you go for weekend camping trips, I’d consider you an “overlander!” More than mall-crawlers that claim the same name but don’t go anywhere!
True! I haven’t done any long distance trips off the grid tho 🤣
Need some more video or pics with different tangle of truck for viewing lift and tires etc
I did an updated build video with additional angles if you're interested ua-cam.com/video/EHw2g5-XhGw/v-deo.html
@@MoreDirtMoreDistance hell yeah!
Great video. Are those mid tires much louder on road? Thanks
Thanks! At first they weren’t too loud, but now with some wear they have gotten loud.
what is the ground clearance now? I know a stock Rubicon is 11 inches.
I measured 11 inches from the ground to the bottom of the diff.
I may have missed it. What rims are those? I don't see them in your description.
They are ION Alloy 171 Wheels 17x9. I did an updated build video with more info in the description ua-cam.com/video/EHw2g5-XhGw/v-deo.html
Nice looking rig, I am planning to lift mine as well, how is the JKS lift performing after 2 years? what kind of shocks did you go with?
Thanks! So far I haven’t had any issues with the JKS lift. I went with the fox shocks.
@@MoreDirtMoreDistance Thanks for the answer, i couldn't figure out from the video did you go with adjustable control arms option by any chance or with the brackets?
@@blueskiesflyer I didn’t get the adjustable control arms. I’m sure what the brackets are. I didn’t install the lift. I just purchased the kit with the Fox 2.0 shocks.
Did it change you angles of geometry much ?
Not that I could tell.
Love the build, and I see some unique integration of items I hadn’t seen before. I love it (and subscribed). I saw in the notes the wheels are Ion type 171 in 17x9. I’m curious of what offset you went with. I like that stance and have figured it out what offset/backspace. Thanks so much, great ride …
Thanks! I can’t remember what the offfset is.. My paperworks says zero but I’m not sure if that is correct.
Do you a link to your JKS lift?
I got the JKS J-Rated 3.5in Suspension System w/Fox 2.0 Shocks. I bought the kit from North Ridge 4x4. www.northridge4x4.com/part/3-3-5in-lifts/jspec131k-jks-j-rated-3-3-5in-suspension-system
@@MoreDirtMoreDistance awesome sweet thank you so much, how does it ride on the road ?
No problem! It’s an entry/midgrade kit, so it’s not bad on the road, but not great either.
Put DANA 60 on 40 ‘s
The wheels look like Ion 16x9et0?
They are Ion wheels Type 171 17x9
Did you replace the front driveshaft after the lift kit ??
No. I haven’t made any other suspension or drive train modifications.
