As I was listening to the first letter you got, my heart stopped. I had an almost mirror experience. I also recently started back on the covenant path and invited the Spirit back into my life. I had been watching Pastor Jeffs videos and found them very troubling. They watered my doubts. After repenting and receiving the Spirit once again, I decided to watch one of the videos that had bothered me before. Right before I played the video, I prayed that the Holy Spirit would be with me and that I would be able to see truth from error or deception.
I watched the video again, and I saw immediately the motive. The Spirit spoke to my heart that the purpose of that video was to sew seeds of doubt. I saw that Jeff used circular and confusing logic to arrive at basically any conclusion that makes the Latter Day Saint Theology appear incorrect. When in truth, the simplest of logic would show you that it is actually the contrary. I was so confused by his explanation, I struggled to even explain it back to my husband when he asked about it. I also saw an utter lack of authority where I hadn't before. I couldn't believe the difference it made for me to have the Spirit with me. I couldn't believe that I'd allowed myself to be pulled away from the truth by seeming kindness.
It really is true, us members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are so used to being talked down to and belittled by those of other faiths, it feels like such a fresh perspective. "Curiosity over Criticism." But as I have sought the Lord and his Spirit to teach me, I can clearly see that even the nicest, most genuine of people, can still be leading you away, whether they realize it or not. We should seek truth from the only source of truth, Jesus Christ, God the Father, the Holy Ghost. It is unwise to heed the words of those from off the path, even if they do seem reasonable and sincere. I think the Prophet said it best, "Never take council from those who do not believe. Seek guidance from voices you can trust."

Lehi's Dream says it best..."they heeded them not, for as many as heeded them...fell away". The voices from the great spacious building...can be very well disguised, but they are still voices of accusation and unbelief, no matter how "kindly" said. Much love, David

@@davidmalvinalexander Amen Brother David. Thank you for your honesty on this topic. Thank you for directing us all back to the Prophet. I really like what you said about conference talks being scripture. My husband and I have been watching conference talks everyday and what a difference it has made to turn off "the great and spacious building" and just keep out attention on the beautiful tree, and on Jesus Christ.

Jeff can't possibly believe in the atonement for what it actually is because he doesn't even accept most of the true doctrine that defines the atonement , in which dying on the cross was only a part of.

He (Jeff) will most likely say perhaps ‘but that is what you call yourselves in the name of your church’. He is so confident in his “self righteous “ knowledge. I am 24:20 so glad that we live in America and have the right to and can Believe”according to the dictates of our own conscience” and through the Holy Spirit. He reminds me of the great flatterer in the Book of Mormon that had great skills /talent to lead some astray and was most popular …..

  • @gburt3892
    @gburt3892 11 місяців тому +35

Jeff’s initial videos were intriguing. His interest, I felt, were more genuine. He kept more to the historical foundation and marvelous works and wonders that took place within the church in its establishment. I think he was even a bit taken by what he was experiencing. Again, despite his true desires, it felt more genuine. Soon after though, I noticed his avoidance of associating Jesus Christ’s name to the church name, or not using it while reading the Book of Mormon. He purposely avoided discussing or mentioning anything that used the name Christ. When he confronted the topic of Christ as it relates to the Book of Mormon, his response is full of complete skepticism and justification why the name couldn’t have possibly been know to the world until after he came. So again, discrediting any chance that we as members could be “worshipping the true Christ”. Also , softly dropping in doubts to the minds of believers. The moment I felt that void, I was out. When there is true intent to leave out Christ, we know it’s not of god.

Absolutely, I concur. There is an intriguing aspect about wolves-their lack of self-awareness when they play the role of a wolf in sheep's clothing. It's quite remarkable how a wolf can don the guise of a sheep and still possess the audacity to stand among the flock, inwardly nodding in approval, thinking, 'Ah yes, this is just as it should be.' I wish I could cast him out from among us. Unfortunately the most effective I can be is to warn the other sheep instead of confronting the wolf. Thank God for those that do or can confront the wolf directly like you David!

In the forest’s hush, beneath the moon’s cool glow,
Dwells a sly spirit with a cunning show.
A wolf in the garb of the meek and the mild,
With the fleece as his cloak, so deftly compiled.
No mirror to question, no river reflects
The duplicity of the guise he elects.
In the fold he stands with a brazen grace,
An intruder enshrouded in innocent lace.
‘Ah yes,’ he thinks, ‘this is where I belong,’
Amidst the sheep’s bleat and the nightingale’s song.
Not a flicker of doubt in his amber-eyed glance,
As he wears the wool like a knight wears his lance.
Unaware of the irony that cloaks his skin,
The wolf with no insight of the wolf within.
A predator’s heart beneath a mask so sheepish,
Believing his farce to be utterly seamless.
With each silent step, he nods in accord,
‘Yes, this is just right,’ his inner voice roared.
The sheep, unaware of the fox at the feast,
See not the wolf, but a friend at the least.
But what is a wolf if not wild and free?
Does the sheep’s wool bind or let him be?
In the dark of the wood, does he lose his own song,
For the safety of a disguise where he does not belong?
So ponder the wolf who wanders astray,
Forgetting his howl, in the light of the day.
The mystery deep, in the twilight unspooled,
Of a wolf who is lost in the fold of the fooled.
Yet in ancient script, the wisdom’s unfurled,
From Christ who knew the hearts of the world.
He spoke of the wolves, so hidden in plain sight,
In sheep's garb by day, but by night they might bite.
"Be wary," He said, "of the prophets who come,
In woolen attire, but inwardly, they're numb.
For they wear a disguise, as decreed in the lore,
Yet I see their true skin, the wolf that they store."

It took me watching a few views of Pastor Jeff before I realized He wasn’t looking at the Church with a desire to learn something new. He wants to teach us something old that doesn’t really work. I, for one, am grateful to worship a Jesus Christ who will not leave me sitting in my sins. That would not be a Heaven. Faith has two parts. 1. To trust and believe=to have faith 2. To be faithful. When Jesus walked on water and bid Peter to walk with Him. Peter had to look to Jesus to walk with Him. (Work) When he looked away from Jesus, Peter sank. Then, to be saved from the waves, Peter had to cry out to Jesus to save Him and grasp hold of Jesus’ hand. (Work, again!) All of this required work and desire on Peter’s part. You can’t have Faith w/ out works. It’s just not really faith. As we look up to Jesus in Faith He lifts us to where He is. I love my Covenant relationship as I am yoked with Him who is mighty to save me. He even takes away my desires to sin so that I only have a disposition to do good continually. So I’m always growing and being cleansed and My Savior becomes to me the Fountain of all righteousness springing up into Eternal Life. Who doesn’t want this?

Jeff is expert at bending, molding and twisting plain meaning of scripture into a caricature fit for the popular but apostate world view he unwittingly clings to.
Truly impressive though, how adroit he was as at dismantling a subject as clear as baptism, armed with his magic word-salad, distorts the commandment until baptism, in his imagination, serves no real purpose in God's
    Gospel.
He is truly clever at perverting scripture.
God has warned us to beware those who mingle scriptures with vain, foolish philosophies.
God has made it clear in our day, as He commanded and recorded in D&C sec.22 That
Baptism is an essential ordinance. So Says God.
Jeff, despite all your illusionary assurances to the contrary, God our Father has, for all time, settled the unbelief on baptism and whether it is required by Him.
Research also, with an eye of faith, what Jesus said on the subject of baptism as recorded at 3rd nephi chapter 27 of the book of Mormon.
You don't have to remain in captive darkness on the subject of Baptism.

I was looking at a heart transplant in the spring of 1993. I asked my son Jonathan's teacher at Rexburg Jr High to give me a Priesthood Blessing on Easter Sunday. I went for an ECHO ultrasound of my heart the next day to determine whether or not I needed to go to the University of Utah to talk about the transplant. On Friday my Cardiologist in Idaho Falls welcomed me into his office with a huge smile on his face and proceeded to show me my results and say "The medicines are finally working!"...To which I replied "I think it was mostly prayer!".. (He was not a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints)...In 1997 I felt a little winded after climbing stairs and went to Dr and was put on Carvedilol (Coreg) and have been on it ever since. In 2004 my ventricles were not in perfect sync so I got a pacemaker which fixed the problem It was changed out in 2011 and 2019 with no problems. I go to McKay Dee for checkup once a year and my ECHO ultrasound this summer showed my ejection fraction had increased from 55 to 60!! The Lord continues to watch over me and grants me bounteous blessings! I had ten children of my own and now have been a nanny since 2007...currently caring for four beautiful children ages 2-8. My gratitude overflows...Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ know our names and know us personally. Best wishes to you!

    Great question for Jeff David.
Another few question he should answer:
Do a thought exercise, honestly do it Jeff.
What if there really was a apostasy, how would God restore the things lost?
What if the Teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints is true about the after life the plan of salvation ?
What if what you were taught is in complete, how would you be taught those things that are missing?
    Here are some answer:
Apostasy - Call a prophet like before and keep the Teachings and other things that would be lost hidden till a time where they could come forth and not be corrupted.
One thing Jeff continually discounts is man's agency and God's law to not interfere with it.
What if the LDS Teachings are true - then your Teachings are not complete and you as a Christian have been taught truth but there is more and you may be shocked when you stand before God who has a body and separate from the other members of the God Head or when you die and are given the opertunity to be taught before you are resurrected.
I have done that thought experiment with the Teachings of evangelical Christianity.
Jeff may not agree but have I accepted Christ as my Savior, yes. And I show that by my actions so if me as an LDS member just by that definition of accepting Christ as my Savior I would be good. but if not because I was deceived but followed his Teachings it may have been extremely hard for anyone not to be tormented for eternity.
Every time I use Jeff logic it shows a partial God and a respector of persons, very Cavinistic.

He would need a completely different career. He would have the criticism and even animosity of at least some of his current congregation. There is no indication yet that he is willing to find out if the Book of Mormon is true by the power of the Holy Ghost.

Pastor Jeff draws near to the Lord with his lips, but his heart is far from the truth. As it says in Nephi Chapter 29, I do pray for Jeff and his family.
8 Wherefore murmur ye, because that ye shall receive more of my word? Know ye not that the testimony of two nations is a witness unto you that I am God, that I remember one nation like unto another? Wherefore, I speak the same words unto one nation like unto another. And when the two nations shall run together the testimony of the two nations shall run together also.
9 And I do this that I may prove unto many that I am the asame yesterday, today, and forever; and that I speak forth my words according to mine own pleasure. And because that I have spoken one word ye need not suppose that I cannot speak another; for my work is not yet finished; neither shall it be until the end of man, neither from that time henceforth and forever.

It comes to my mind the parable of the scattering of the seed. Not sure that’s exactly what it’s called. But there’s a sifting that happens/is happening. And it’s bigger than Jeff. Some fall in cracks and some fall in fertile ground. Do the seeds decide? Maybe the effort they intend to make, but there’s little control over where you are scattered. Jeff is vulnerable himself. Can you imagine living in Zion, surrounded by saints. Next time he travels to visit parents or childhood friends, he WILL FEEL THE DIFFERENCE. I don’t know that other Saints are chumming up to him. It’s easier to catch bees with honey than vinegar. We can be cordial and respectful. But stand firm in our little bit of soil and bloom and show how well it’s working for us. What are the works that Paul talks about that don't save you, lest any man should boast? Are they the works of the law of Moses? Or all they any good deeds, works, ordinances, covenants, or mental efforts (which works are often harder than any physical ones)? Jesus gave many parables about deeds, performances, and labor being necessary as servants of God to be rewarded.

It is the support of so many gullible church members donating to him in such a big way that I believe has provided him with such a comfortable income that he saw potential if he moved to Utah he would gain a bigger fan base and grow his own congregation and start his own evangelical church there made up of saints who he has deceived. And there's Hebrews 6:1-2. One of the few places in the Bible where the doctrine of Christ is laid out: faith, repentance, baptism, laying in of hands (for the Holy Ghost). They totally skip over it (and Jesus' words, and Peter's words, and Paul's words). That's natural though, because they know they don't have God's authority. Jesus directly gave the 12 and the 70 authority. The gospels do not indicate that He gave that authority to everyone that believed and followed Him. He had chosen and ordered distinct people that He gave it to. Acts 6, the 12 gave Jesus' authority to the 7 by the laying on of their hands. Acts 8, Simon the ex-sorcerer tried to buy the authority to give the Holy Ghost from Peter - even though Simon believed, was baptized, and followed Jesus, he still didn't have the authority that the apostles had, no matter how much he believed and desired it. Hebrews says that no man can take the honor of God's authority upon himself, but must be called of God, as was Aaron - and receive it in the same way Aaron and the new testament saints did - by the laying on of hands by those God authorized to do so. God's house is a house of order, not confusion, and His power and authority are never casually given to mortals without going through His prescribed instructions which He has shown us.

In this past general conference. President Nelson said, do not take advice from nonbelievers or something to that effect. Too many people in the church are looking at outside, influences and sources because they are so hungry to be accepted by other religions as Christians I think that we even paid too much attention to, all of the UA-camrs within our own church rather than study scripture and go to the Lord himself. Pastor Jeff is not too old. But he needs to humbly seek truth My husband joined the church when he was 49 yrs old--before we met He received an answer to an earnest prayer. He opened Book of Mormon, praying that the Lord not lead him astray, as he'd searched so long. So, before he read the book he wanted to know if it was real and true scripture😮. His thumb fanned pages and they Book of Mormon opened to 2 Nephi 31:15, his eye focused on, "I heard the Father say, the words of my Beloved are true and faithful." Then it really comes down to, does this restored church have authority from God? Yes! From resurrected Peter, James, John and John the Baptist and directly from Jesus Christ and they Father.

The problem is that Jeff believes in the inerrancy of the Bible, meaning, the Bible is always correct on anything above everything else, which means that people that believe in the inerrancy of the Bible presupposed to be right before they even know what the counter argument is gvien any attention..
Probably the most vital lesson I learned along my way is, the more wisdom and knowledge a person posesses, the more he will admidt to the fact that he does not know much at all, for he understands that only that kind of humility will prepare his heart and his mind to accept even greater truths, whilst the conviction to have already arrived at that one, final truth of things, would cut him from letting these truths into his life.

Why would those baptized by John the Baptist have to be rebaptized in the name of Jesus Christ before they could receive the gift of the Holy Spirit by the laying on of hands? Because not only is baptism essential, it has to be the correct baptism by those with proper authority. And if anyone who professes Jesus gets the Holy Ghost, why did some baptized in the name of Jesus Christ have to wait for an Apostle to come and lay their hands on them before they received the Holy Spirit? And why couldn't Steven buy the ability to give people the Holy Ghost by laying hands of them? Because only those given the power and authority from God, as a Priesthood calling, can give the Holy Spirit. No man can claim these powers and authority for themselves or assume receiving them automatically. That is not only not supported by the Bible, it is straight refuted by the Bible.

In the spirit of gracious discourse, might I pose unto thee a query for contemplation? Wouldst thou opt for fellowship with the channel known as Mormon Stories, which, by many accounts, strays from the path of truth, or with Hello Saints, whose gentle demeanor masks a similar departure? Yet this query is but a riddle, for the righteous course lies not in alignment with either. It is incumbent upon us, in the defense of our faith, to renounce deceit in all its forms, embracing instead the cloak of charity. Let us hold fast to the truth revealed in the sacred texts, from the Holy Bible to The Book of Mormon: another testament of Jesus Christ, and the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, which alone contains the plenitude of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. "Wherefore, let us be faithful to Him," as exhorted in Doctrine and Covenants 6:13. Thus, in the spirit of brotherly love, we affirm our commitment to the cause of truth.

Pastor Jeff as already mentioned never sought to know if the church was what it claimed. He has never felt the Holy Ghost because he has never had the gift of it. He has followed the path of others who became rich from a ministry but has never had enough force to sound fire and brimstone. You do realize where his supporting funds have come from, don't you? His manner while polite is not powerful to draw enough donations to steadily grow. He is driven to prove himself. So far he has fallen short. He was inspired by others who have apostated and post continued attacks on the church. Rather than rely on fake members with fake stories which wouldn't gain him his goals, he saw that touching recent inexperienced members who aren't yet strong, and not so perceptive ones who believed his attempt to find the truth and would want to help him convert. His interest isn't so much to draw away members though it was encouraged by the other false pastors, it is their continued funding. As long as he could drag out the possibility of converting he hoped to do well. Unfortunately he isn't as charismatic as he hoped. He isn't good at lying like the rest. This caused problems. You notice the other haters left him alone. Also much sharper members caught on to him. He realized when he approached 3rd Nephi he had a problem. It wasn't working. A person who is attempting a deception feels the toll. He in his attempt has rejected the restored gospel and the Holy Ghost who tested him. You don't tug on Gods robe. He is now accountable and has lost the gift of entering into the Millennium had he just tried a honest ministry. He now needs to repent of things he is unable to. You see people who leave the church rarely join another church. They can't. Also they do not give much money if any to anyone. You will see him soon either just fully turn against the church with his findings claiming it false and join the apostates method, or give a small confession and go a while further. He has already lost and is desperate.
