The thing about Ghost's songs is how catchy and accessible they can be, but the subject matter of the lyrics is often a lot heavier. This song is very much that way. It really is a great track. Personally I think the masterpiece on this particular album is Respite on the Spitalfields, but I enjoy the entire album.
Respite on the Spitalfields is just epic, loved it instantly I heard it the first time. Some small elements of Whitesnake anno 1987, but more so an hommage to Iron Maidens epic longer songs from the mid eighties. Would appreciate a reaction!
I can imagine it will be! I'm just praying they won't clash with anyone else I want to see at download next year, since discovering a bunch of their songs I really want to see them now lol
@@scrupypov you absolutely should see them! they’re fantastic live, seen them twice now and they always put on one hell of a show. also, year zero performed live is a religious experience. 11/10 recommend catching their set, it’s so worth it
@@scrupypov not a 12 string metal axe. One of those 12 string acoustics where every one of the 6 strings are doubled (usually octaves) to get a cool kinda chorusy effect. 6x2 strings, every pair grouped tightly, so it's like pushing down single strings, but 2 at a time. Used quite a lot in old school rock ballads, and generally older music
I would call this a power ballad, I would love to hear this live.
That's way better than how I was trying to describe it the song haha
What genre is Ghost? Yes.
Yes
Are you righteous? Yes

I'm glad it has that juxtaposition, I look forward to listening to it more on my playlist and hearing those lyrics more!

If you want "different", listen to Twenties. No further comment~
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll add it to my list!
The word is "Anthemic".
Amazing skill of pausing/speaking at all the wrong times along the song... :) but anyway liked your reaction
