I just sold a 2070 super for around 75% more than that so I'm feeling pretty good about it. Guy selling for $150usd didn't know what he had. I think I got a fair price for the FPS it provides compared to the $300 4060.
If Nvidia cared enough, the RTX 4060 should have been renamed the RTX 4050 with those specs and performance. The base 4070 should have been the actual RTX 4060 lol IMO
I have the option rite now to swap my 2070 super for a 4060 OC. This video was helpful. Looks like bottom line is it runs cooler with less power being consumed. Think I will switch it out.

@@luisgustavodossantosrodrig2005 it's not 3%, it's more than that. 4gb vs 6gb doesn't mean anything, compare the two and you'll see that there not close. remember the 1060 is a replacement for the 960, not the 970. the 1070 is a replacement for the 970, that's the 980 right there. the card that replaces the previous card, that card would be the next up from the card it replaced. now yeah the 980ti is up quite a bit, but we're not talking about that one. just the standard 980 by itself, it beats the 1060 by 20%. the 1070 cuts that down to the 3% your talking about. there both good cards, but the 980 will hold you over longer. now you might say, if that's the case, why was the 970 recommended. because it had a better price to performance ratio, Nvidia priced the 980 too high. as long you got a good gaming experience out of the 970, it was good enough to where you really didn't need a 980. but price aside though, the 980 was a beast of a card. the price is what hurt, and it didn't help matters Nvidia decided to release the 980ti 6 months after. at that point there was very little reason to get the 980, when you have the 970 which had a good price, and the 980ti if you wanted something more high end. not to mention, for budget builds, the 960 was largely ignored in favor in the gtx 750ti. that's because the 960 is just a rebadged 760, so the only true mid range card of the 900 series was the 970. they got alot of things right with the 1000 series, but you should know the 900 series was a mess in terms of management.
@@Jeymez you are just a little bit cofuse look for techpowerup or any other test in UA-cam and you will see that the 980 only will be slighter faster than the 1060 in modern games and the 2gb of vram can make a bigger diference in some games
@cosim5432 there will be noticeably less performance when scrubbing through timelines when video editing, but export speeds should remain similar. Overall an rtx 4060 is better in rendering/editing especially thanks to newer features
Listen, I really don't want to gatekeep you at all. But the 4060ti is not good at all, WAY too overpriced for an underpowered GPU. I recommend buying literally ANYTHING BUT that card.

Ive had one since 2019 and still use it today on a 144hz 1440p display. Runs all games well apart from "AAA" but thats mostly slop these days so i dont play that crap 😂@zeilinger2560

I ran a few benchmarks on my Rtx 4060 laptop, I loose around 1-2%fps on average when compared to the desktop version. But the best part is, power consumption in most games don't exceed 60Watts, the most I've seen is like 65Watts (in unigine heaven). I undervolted the gpu and played around with memory clocks though : ). Otherwise power consumption sometimes spikes to 90Ws.
@@globularjalapenoin My country 4060 is at the same price as a used rx 6800, the thing is that high power consumption from the amd card, me personally i have a redragon 600w psu, and i believe 6800 would tear it apart, while 4060's 100w power consumption sounds nice for my psu
@unzurdosingracia2405 600W PSU is totally okay for a 6800, I would recommend grabbing that over the 4060, since it is around 50% faster. Also power consumption isn't really a big deal for desktop gpus, just make sure to manage the heat.
absolutely not i owned 1080Ti and its so old that it struggles to play new game, this is a personal experience and its a architecture and driver issue you need RTX card nowdays

Own both these cards.. in Mobile form anyway. That 2070s still holds it's own. The 4060 is very impressive especially given it's power draw

Prob because of the downgrade to the memory bus, 128-bit (272GB/s) for the 4060 vs 256-bit (448GB/s) for the 2070S.
