What I started doing this year to help me get through my short story anthologies is to read one short story before I start a new book. It's really helping me make progress through them!
Genuinely think this may be one of the few hauls where at least half of the books I am now interested in. A LOT of those bunny books sound… hoppin’. (Get it? I’ll see myself out.)
this might be a big ask but in the Rabbit vlog you should talk about all the books w bunny covers you’ve rated 5 stars!!!! would love a refresher of some of your best recommendations 😌
Just read Rabbits by Terry Miles and all I have to say is for me personally it was a 5 star read. I have listened to all the different podcasts that have to do with this book and this, like the podcasts, did not disappoint (for me) Also just found out that there will be a second book coming out now. Not sure if a second book is needed but I will for sure be picking that up when it comes out. Can’t wait for this “Rabbits” vlog you’re going to be doing. So many rabbit books I also want to read.
I don’t know if “orquídea divina” is hard to pronounce for a non-spanish speaker or not, but in any case: you said it perfectly! and (as a spanish native myself) it warmed my heart. Thank you so much for taking the time to do so! :3
also boosting a middle grade in your radar (and for people who are looking for a MG fantasy): The Forgotten Five: Map of Flames by Lisa Mcmann it comes out February 22nd!! It’s about “Five supernatural kids, raised on a deserted tropical island, enter a hostile civilization in search of their missing criminal parents…and the treasure they left behind.”
In case you haven’t been told about it yet, Rabbits for Food by Binnie Kirshenbaum is on my TBR and had a beautiful rabbit on the cover. It seems weird and wacky and also Rabbit-y!
I have The History of Wild Places on my TBR for this month. It will probably be the next one I read. I’m looking forward to it. Also, love you hauls! I’m currently in the middle of moving and have no where to put new books so I’m just waiting until I can go and buy a ton of books again!
Yes to Black Water Sister! I loved it. Though very different to another book I've read by Zen Cho (which was something about a sorcerer..) so not sure where you'll fall on it. Looking forward to hearing what you think about it
I’m so so excited for your bunny reading vlog! I remember you mentioning it ages ago and have been anticipating it! Have you heard dog Starve Acre? That’s another book with a rabbit on the cover and it sounds intriguing!
Would love to see another video predicting future release book covers! Gaywarren by Maggie Steifvater is coming this October your cover prediction would be so fun and fitting for it being the final instalment to the spinoff of your favourite series.
RABBIT COVER REC: Everyone in This Room Will Someday be Dead by Emily Austin. I thought of you immediately when I saw the cover, and after reading it I think it’s your type of weird. The author is from my little Ontario hometown and the book is set there too!
If you’re looking for Toni Morrison to read, I really loved A Mercy. It’s shorter and more recent than her other ones and it’s a little weird as far as the telling of the story goes. I read it for class but it’s still great. I haven’t read any other Morrison yet though
In terms of rabbit books I was wondering if "Watership Down" is on your radar. Honestly not sure if you would like it considering its a classic and can be kinda dense but it is literally a book with rabbits as the main characters. It has a lot of political commentary and def some weird parts and def some parts that don't hold up but its also the "rabbit classic"
This lady in this videos bookshelf reminds me of my bookcase, I’d have books lying every where but my parents won’t allow me to do that so I buy them and eventually read them in turn and sometimes I read multiple books I’m not a book collector I more buy them and read them, iv just started reading journals and reading multiple books, so it’s a bit hard for me seen as I’m used to reading one at a time within 40 years of my life, so when my parents die I don’t mean anything bad in it, I’m planing to convert there room into a personal home library iv a;l ready got a Cambridge 3 tier bookcase with 167-20- books, the reason why I’d convert my parents room into a home library one I’m an only child I’m from Scotland uk if anyone from here knows if this being a council, property I’d they see one person living in a house themself so if I do what o like is to read and convert it the government can’t touch me, when I ref multiple books, I read right now one book in the morning sleep I’m the afternoon, because it’s good to have a little nap when you don’t work or have kids we’ll the work story long story especially with this virus going about, anyway I do one physical book in the morning and one at night, one or maybe 2 ebooks when like before dinner I’m, still trying to plan the second, one out, and one ebook if I’m commuting between places or if I need to wait for a short time or if I’m busy or got spare time.
I know you don't like Manga but I want to throw "rabbit doubt" into the ring. It's got deadly games, rabbit costumes, weirdness, and slasher vibes. Think you might enjoy.
I just knowingly went, "Oh, Rabbits" out loud like I was saying something profound XD I know that one. RABBITS, Tanis, and The Black Tapes all exist in the same universe. I loved the Black Tapes but neither Tanis or RABBITS did much for me. Hopefully the book is better!
A YA horror haunted house story that I think you would like: The Girls are Never Gone by Sarah Glenn Marsh. This was my first read of 2022 and I gave it five stars!
Recitafif's good and short, so you should like it. The Bluest Eye is a stunner! I'm reading Wahala now and I'm...not fond of the colorism/antiblackness permeating the pages plus the pacing's off. I DNF'd How to Kill Your Best Friend. It was a bit slow for me. I can't wait to read Razorblade Tears.
LAUREN!!!! 🙌🙌🙌 I unboxed this in a video a little bit ago and it didn't come with a slip so I was hoping someone would let me know that it was from them!! Thank you so much for the gift-I'm so glad you saw this and could tell me it was you!! 🤗💕
If you ever want to give road trip books another go?! Then please read Last One at the Party by Bethany Clift because I think you might like it…maybe…possibly?! 🥳
Good morning from the Uk Hope u and ur family are safe as i seen on the news u might have Marshall law ? Booktube katrina brown loved goddess of filth book also 😍 All the best 🙏
you should check out The Constant Rabbit by Jasper Fforde. I picked it up as I always pick up books with characters with the same name as me (Constance), but I think you'd like it because it's quite weird. Also rabbits.
I completely agree, and I've actually posed this question a few times to the audience, but the overwhelming response is that because many people don't watch every vlog, a book haul should include everything I've gotten since the last book haul 🤷♀️ haha wish I could cater to both!
Soooo are you doing the rabbit vlog in July because What Moves the Dead is coming out that month???? 🐇 because I am OBSESSED with that books cover and am genuinely so intrigued by the synopsis. Very excited to read it when it comes out!!! 🐰💕
I'd love to see a whole video of just your rabbit book collection. I read The Woman Who Gave Birth to Rabbits in a vlog inspired by you for that exact reason 😃
a while ago I mentioned starve acre to you bc it has a hare on the cover but I hadn’t read it then. I have now and it was 5 stars!! weird and creepy, think you could love it!
I know you didn't like annihilation ... but the sequel has a rabbit on the cover 🤷♀️ its called authority. It also doesn't have as good of reviews as annihilation, but maybe that would make it more up your alley!
I think you might really like Jesse Q. Sutanto if you haven't yet read her books! She writes YA and Adult murder mysteries/thrillers, and since you liked Finlay Donovan, I think you might like her as well. 😊
Actually like the books in the background. It makes you seem more real as everyone else is so obsessed with the rainbow shelves and other silliness. Real people, real videos!
What I started doing this year to help me get through my short story anthologies is to read one short story before I start a new book. It's really helping me make progress through them!
Ooooh I love that
Great idea
Genuinely think this may be one of the few hauls where at least half of the books I am now interested in. A LOT of those bunny books sound… hoppin’. (Get it? I’ll see myself out.)
HahahHahahHhAHAHAhhahah
@@BooksandLala thank you for validating my dad joke. My work here is done 😌
this might be a big ask but in the Rabbit vlog you should talk about all the books w bunny covers you’ve rated 5 stars!!!! would love a refresher of some of your best recommendations 😌

Omg, I didn’t know there was going to be a second book! I’m hyped!
I’ve listened to all the podcasts and didn’t realize there was a book!!!
Why is a month of bunny covers so exciting. Can’t wait to watch
I love your chaotic shelves so much
I don’t know if “orquídea divina” is hard to pronounce for a non-spanish speaker or not, but in any case: you said it perfectly! and (as a spanish native myself) it warmed my heart. Thank you so much for taking the time to do so! :3
Was ready to go to bed then seen hours had uploaded new video...no bedtime for me now 😂🙈 love your videos! Love all wayfrom Glasgow, Scotland
Loll same 😂🙌
also boosting a middle grade in your radar (and for people who are looking for a MG fantasy):
The Forgotten Five: Map of Flames by Lisa Mcmann
it comes out February 22nd!!
It’s about “Five supernatural kids, raised on a deserted tropical island, enter a hostile civilization in search of their missing criminal parents…and the treasure they left behind.”
The Bluest Eye is absolutely incredible. Highly recommend.
I am so happy I found your channel! I have added many of these books now to my ever-growing TBR list.
In case you haven’t been told about it yet, Rabbits for Food by Binnie Kirshenbaum is on my TBR and had a beautiful rabbit on the cover. It seems weird and wacky and also Rabbit-y!
Absolutely love your channel lala!!
You had me at "space". lol
The Humans is such a good book! Far better than The Midnight Library, IMO.
I have The History of Wild Places on my TBR for this month. It will probably be the next one I read. I’m looking forward to it. Also, love you hauls! I’m currently in the middle of moving and have no where to put new books so I’m just waiting until I can go and buy a ton of books again!
The Inheritance of Orquidea Divina is one of the best book I've ever read!? I absolutely adored it! So much so that I'm getting an orchid tattoo.....
Seeing Finlay Donovan first on this list made me so happy! 😍😍😍
Yes to Black Water Sister! I loved it. Though very different to another book I've read by Zen Cho (which was something about a sorcerer..) so not sure where you'll fall on it. Looking forward to hearing what you think about it
Very excited to try Finlay Donovan!
i came across cherish farrah on goodreads just a few days ago so i’m thrilled it showed up in this haul! can’t wait to hear what you think about it!!
I’m so so excited for your bunny reading vlog! I remember you mentioning it ages ago and have been anticipating it! Have you heard dog Starve Acre? That’s another book with a rabbit on the cover and it sounds intriguing!
I'm a Thursday baby too! I can actually say I was born on my due date too because the OB did the scheduled c-sections on Thursdays 😂
Would love to see another video predicting future release book covers! Gaywarren by Maggie Steifvater is coming this October your cover prediction would be so fun and fitting for it being the final instalment to the spinoff of your favourite series.
"this book is a bout a girl... *starts laughing*"
if this aint me trying to describe books 😂😂
I got an eARC for Cherish Farrah and i can’t wait to read it! I heard it was pretty good 🤞🏾
“Bookhauls are hard.” 😂
So many of these are on my TBR. Looking forward to your reviews on each, Kayla
Another rabbit book you can checkout is Rabbit Cake by Annie Hartnett. It’s been a few years since I read it but I loved it when I did!
RABBIT COVER REC: Everyone in This Room Will Someday be Dead by Emily Austin. I thought of you immediately when I saw the cover, and after reading it I think it’s your type of weird. The author is from my little Ontario hometown and the book is set there too!

The Inheritance of Orquidea Divina was my fave read of 2021 ✨🌸 I can’t wait to see your thoughts 💭 on it!
It was one of my favorites of last year as well. So good
A person who has a beautiful melody 😍
The Bluest Eye is a brilliant and intense read, hope you love it
Your bookshelf is soo chaotic rn lol
Im very intrigued by A History of Wild Places, would love to hear your thoughts on that one when you read it!
I'm currently reading When Life Gives You Mangoes and I thought it was because of your recommendation 😆
So excited for so many of those bunny books 🐰
💖💖💖
I know you don't like Manga but I want to throw "rabbit doubt" into the ring. It's got deadly games, rabbit costumes, weirdness, and slasher vibes. Think you might enjoy.
Let me grab my notebook and see what I’ll be adding to my TBR.
I’m getting a rabbit tattoo next month 🐇
Also I just started Ophelia After All 🌹
I’m currently reading Orquídea and it’s so good.
Looks like you already have a lot of rabbit books but I have to suggest one from one of my favorite authors - The Constant Rabbit by Jasper Fforde.
Great haul
War Bunny 🐰 sounds like a darker version of Zootopia 😂
Just finished Sorrowland. Such an interesting book!
A YA horror haunted house story that I think you would like: The Girls are Never Gone by Sarah Glenn Marsh. This was my first read of 2022 and I gave it five stars!
If you somehow need another bunny cover, wonderland by Juno Dawson is a book I personally really love
Firstttttt
I guess the takeaway is no more bunny recos right? ;) ;) ;)
Hahaha if only 🤭😋
These books are all worth reading, thanks so much for sharing! 💫 Keep rising to be who you want to be! 💫 #keeprising #risingtobe #aswerise #riser

Finlay Donovan #2 is great 🙌
I kept laughing every time you introduced a new book and said "This is about a girl..."
So excited for ophelia
We‘re here and we‘re awake because there is a storm and I cannot sleep for the life of me so thanks for the company 😅🥲
I just finished Cursed Bunny last week. There are some wiiild stories in there and that's all I'm saying about it.
Very much intrigued by Goddess of Filth!
I sent you Rabbits by Terry Miles ~ I hope you love it!!
LAUREN!!!! 🙌🙌🙌 I unboxed this in a video a little bit ago and it didn't come with a slip so I was hoping someone would let me know that it was from them!! Thank you so much for the gift-I'm so glad you saw this and could tell me it was you!! 🤗💕
If you want more rabbit books, "Rabbits for Food" by Binnie Kirshenbaum is a strange one 🐰
If you ever want to give road trip books another go?! Then please read Last One at the Party by Bethany Clift because I think you might like it…maybe…possibly?! 🥳
Forgot to add it’s an apocalypse story 🤦♀️
Toni Morrison is a "beloved" author...
A beautiful legacy indeed 🐇🐇🐇
Hey bestie!!!
Good morning from the Uk
Hope u and ur family are safe as i seen on the news u might have Marshall law ?
Booktube katrina brown loved goddess of filth book also 😍
All the best 🙏
Books 👏👏👏
Do I smell a haunted house reading vlog coming or are you just excited? 😅 Either way, it is on brand
I'm trying to read one a month! 💕
@@BooksandLala amazing! I'm excited to hear if you find any good ones 😊
10:28 All I have to say is: I was born on a Sunday and I am gay
12 nights at Rotter House was aweful!!!! Sorry!
I liked Rotter House 🤷🏼♀️
No joking exactly what my bookshelves look like right now🤦 unlike you i have no idea what to do so pls put up that video to help me😩
I think you're the only English-speaking booktuber I've seen that pronounced correctly 'Orquidia Divina' haha.
The aesthetic of messy books behind you... Beautiful.
you should check out The Constant Rabbit by Jasper Fforde. I picked it up as I always pick up books with characters with the same name as me (Constance), but I think you'd like it because it's quite weird. Also rabbits.
Ooh yes this is one I think Kayla would enjoy it's weird. I had to dnf it but seriously weird
i loved the constant rabbit and wanted to recommend it too 😚
Just picked up Finlay Donovan on your recommendation and I’m so excited to get to it! Just need to finish Dune first!!
Omg literally same. I'm working through Dune and excited to get to other things! I'm still enjoying it though.
never thought i'd be so early! both you and the video are lovely as always :) also!! what's your criteria for unhauling books?
Have you played the board game bunny kingdom? Lots of bunnies in there :)
Maybe unpopular opinion but I hate when people include books they’ve already read and vlogged in a book haul. I want fresh content for book hauls.
I completely agree, and I've actually posed this question a few times to the audience, but the overwhelming response is that because many people don't watch every vlog, a book haul should include everything I've gotten since the last book haul 🤷♀️ haha wish I could cater to both!

I swear the bookshelf gets more and more chaotic with every video. Soon it will attain dadaistic levels of absurd
I did not know there was a rhyme/poem for the days of the week when people are born… I too have far to go. 🤯
I think you might really like Jesse Q. Sutanto if you haven't yet read her books! She writes YA and Adult murder mysteries/thrillers, and since you liked Finlay Donovan, I think you might like her as well. 😊
There's a Finnish classic called The Year of the Hare by Arto Paasilinna, it's a weird story and I liked it! It would be awesome if you read it!
Actually like the books in the background. It makes you seem more real as everyone else is so obsessed with the rainbow shelves and other silliness. Real people, real videos!
So what about Watership Down?? That one is all about bunnies and rabbits....
I just added Winterest Hollow to my tbr because it was described as a horror novella and that's all it really takes
Saturday’s child works hard for a living 🤣 What is that from?
Our crooked Hearts by Melissa Albert is a YA with a rabbit on the cover.
"i hear you and i have it" made me cackle
maybe you could read one short story in between every book you read.
Lol I too get chaotic the longer I film 😅😅
