That was a terrific explanation. I've used splines plenty of times for simple things, but never knew about the trim tool. I use Solidworks for CAD which has a trim tool. Incredible how much stuff 3ds max offers even after using it for 20 years.

This is such a nice and clean work flow. I had trouble a few months back when I wanted to model some wing brackets for a BMW M2, this would've been so much better.
Would we be able to chamfer the edges without any issues too?

this is amazing.... i use c4d but im not sure it can do this...?
whats the best way to make it a perfect topology? ive created a pattern shape in illustrator, for cnc metal cutting. got it in max, making sure that all vertices are welded.. but once i extrude it in max.. in some places it gvies me traiangular hollows.. really not able to figure out whats to be done..
Is there a way to measure spline segment Length? Like a crazy crazy spline that would be impossible to measure with a ruller or reference.

Massive fan of splines. Sadly trying to move over to Blender from Max I find its spline tools are really pretty crude. I did a low poly challenge with a game modeller and using splines with low interpolation got better looking models (also more accurate) with lower poly counts... and they are mostly non-destructive too.
Please anyone can help how to draw line rectangle and use outline to build hole ,can anyone help?
but isnt the topology like really bad with this method?
