Leaving global finance to a group of 22-year-olds who may be good coders but have no idea about global finance is a disaster. By the way, none of these issues in crypto are new. They have occurred multiple times in traditional financial markets. Experienced market professionals can deal with them. They just seem new to 22-year-olds.
I wasn't invested in Luna in any way, shape, or form. Still, this story makes me sick to my stomach. Everybody wants life changing gains. Nobody wants life changing losses.
lol I had like 5% into it, but in crypto we all know 5% is a rounding error lol... Luna and a bunch of other coins were equally likely to all go to the moon if this bullrun continue, it doesn't make sense why I wouldn't diversify my risks, considering that the rewards would be equally high. Right now, this made me aware, I'll even diversify across stablecoins, and withdraw to outside of my exchange. Not all risks appear on the trading charts.
But actually, I almost had told someone to invest into stocks through some UST deFi project because their fees were lower than regular brokers, etc. But even then, I told them, there could have been a bug in the algorithm that could bring a Black Swan event that is unforeseeable by definition, Coin Bureau talked about USDT possible Black Swan event, it woke me to that fact.
This was the second so called stable coin that Do Kwon was involved with both crashed while he made millions in them. The South Korean government is going after him for millions in tax evasion and he maybe also prosecuted for running a Ponzi scheme with UST. It’s not clear if he’s still in Korea as he maybe on the run. This is a big wake up call for the crypto community so hopefully something like this will not happen again. As unfortunately there have been reports of some suicides due to people loosing their life savings, very sad.

Please, the anchor protocol had the red flags of a Ponzi scheme. I’m glad I never invested in Terra. Bitcoin and ETH will continue to be my primary choices.

If shorting crypto currencies is evil and destructive then 80% of the community are probably guilty.
Lots and lots of eyes are on the curve pool all the time--plenty of them automated. Any big shift or unbalance would have alerted lots of people. Same thing happened with outflows from Anchor.

There needs to be instruments designed to gate withrawls and deposits while management makes large moves. State actors could be behind this as well. A planned shutting down of the chain would have prevented this incident from happening during the big managerial move. I think they should fork.

Timing the market is impossible. history shows that the market will in the long term have an upward trend, so the worst thing is not investing at all
Following the dollar cost averaging technique is pretty great, thats why you see people investing at the highs and the lows.

Agree. If it was supposedly done on Binance, then the audit trail is there, as each user is KYC'ed. It's not difficult for Binance to know who it was.
