    The blue “what the hell is that thing” is an automatic shutoff. If it detects a leak (flow outside of the normal) it will shut the 1/4 turn valve.

    Turns out that the space around the boiler is a great place for your extra hangers. Who knew? 😂

      Or don't want to attempt it because their expertise may be that they are a surgeon, nurse, lawyer, or other field they know all about...I don't feel sorry for THEM. I'm grateful to have THEM as well...🙄

    I wish people today were less intimidated by stuff like this and wanted to learn to fix things themselves - if you try and fail, fine, but don’t be afraid of it - get your hands dirty

      Took me 2 weeks to fully understand every different kind of Boiler feed valve and pressure reducer valve and to be able to service and diagnose issues regarding them. Regular home owners dont have the time or patience to learn, and I dont blame them.

      Not really, because to be able to do this sort of thing you need a lot of knowledge which most people don't have. Furthermore it could be dangerous in the respect that you could easily flood your property or start a fire.

      @@ursodermatt8809 I'm talking about in general, that's why in England you have gas safe engineers for boilers and part p electrical engineers for the electrics. It's illegal to touch it if you aren't qualified and there's very good reason.

      mate, did you actually watch and understand the video?
      the youtuber was closing and then opening again that feed valve, what ever it is. which cleared an air lock. it is in the water circulation loop.
      now, just doing a guess, even in england you do not have gas circulating in a hot water tank.
      you are like making the argument to open a water tap you need a gas engineer to do that.

    Hey steve. Thanks for your channel brother. I got a question for you: i have an oil fired boiler. 5 zones wired into a taco relay. I am having my first floor zones temp climbing way past my thermostat setting. Gravity? Bad flow valve? It just started doing this. The pump is not energized but the temp climbs. Maybe its something simple?? Any thoughts?

    • @kevo8225
      @kevo8225 2 роки тому +1

      Could be a bad flow check if each zone has its own pump or a bad power head or zone valve

    • @stevenlavimoniere
      @stevenlavimoniere  2 роки тому +2

      check to make sure there is no voltage to circulator .. when tstat is off . if thats ok look into leaking flow check .. flow check should only open when circulator runs ..
