So glad to find your tutorial. This is exactly what I want to do. Excellent demo. Thank you. Also love your choice up cheerful, fun colors. Really very cute and a great keepsake for the recipient of this custom card.
Claire, I really enjoy watching your videos keep up the great job! I have been wanting to write to you and ask you if I could send you a story about "The Battle of Hastings" As soon as I saw your video about the X~stitch you were working on for your hubby! I knew I had an embroidery book from the 1970's that had it in it! I was hoping to make a copy and send it to you along with a few other goodies? let me know what you think? Have a blessed day! Tessa Carmine how do you creat the green gritted paper . do you have an advice how i can prepare it by computer.thanks and I like your ideas, it correlates with what we do in Cairo .we will be uploading soon
I enjoyed your style of cardmaking gives another spin on using materials. However i was a bit turned off by your comments about cardmaking. You made it seem like you could go buy something like what you made for only a couple of dollars with the same meaning. Im sure your friend really appreciated the thought time and effort but into your card, rather than you buying one. Anyone can do that and it NEVER is a nice or meaningful as one you make yourself. You seemed to enjoy what you were doing and it turned out brilliant. No need to downplay or degrade a hobby and business that makes millions of dollars and gives people joy . Your comments just really grated on my nerves as a cardmaker. Especially since you make cards. All im saying is negative comments are not necessary. Other than that i enjoyed your tutorial and will try technique.
+Tasha T Hi Tasha! Thanks for your comments. I'm such a fan of handmade gifts of any kind and especially enjoy making cards for friends - I'm not sure why it came off negatively because it's not at all how I feel! I know my friend appreciated the card, in fact I only make things for people I know will appreciate the time, effort and thought that goes into them. I recently had my birthday and I dear friend stitched me a birthday card - it meant so much more because she made it and I will treasure it. Perhaps I was feeling a little self-conscious to be making a card tutorial when I consider myself to be a novice of the card making craft! While Id consider myself an experienced cross stitcher I have only been making cards for a short time and it's just from watching a few tutorials and muddling things out myself. I don't want people to think I consider myself a card making professional! I know there are so many who are much more experienced at it than I and I don't wish to compare my card making skills to theirs but rather show cross stitchers that we can make cards from stitching too and combine paper craft with needle craft. I wanted to show how achievable it is - not easy but not overwhelming. I hope that makes sense? Anyway I'm sorry that anything I said came off in a negative way because it is certainly not how I feel! I'll review my video and see if I need to add my edits or captions to explain my commentary. Thanks again!
