Anyways, the theme of all this is it doesn’t matter what you do as long as you bring sone heart and soul to it. Therefore, should I embrace his F - ranking of the bosu ball squat and try to horse some serious steel and cause a tidal wave of quadriceps mutation?

every time I watch your videos I come away wanting to include all the variations you suggest and change my whole program lol.
Will probably add goblet squats as a warm up though, since my back squat is abysmal (it's 1.15x my bench...)

jokes aside, the advice around leg extensions and accessories like jump squats and wall sits was pretty interesting. i'll give them a shot!

I do a four day a week upper lower split. I’ve programmed sissy squats on one day and extensions on the next. I basically do these to warm up my knee’s before moving on to my heavy quad exercises (back squat/hack squat). Since I’ve even mentioned warming up my knees I’ll also say that I do a leg curl or laying leg curl before any of the quad exercises I’m doing right now. It’s a good way to warm up your knees before really putting them under load from your quad exercises. This feels good for me and I hope that maybe this helps someone out. Basically my point is sissy squats are just the appetizer for me right now, not the main dish of horse cock.

What do you think of the Rogers Power Squat?
I've been doing that, hoping it carries over to normal barbell squats.
I just can't stand the bar digging into my frickin vertebra (even with the stupid cushion) with normal barbell squats.

I don't think anyone (with sense) uses a sissy squat as a replacement for a regular back squat. It's actually a replacement for a leg extension, and is supposed to be in addition to a back squat...not instead of.

Bulgarian split squats do have a mental component to it, I do them after squats so I'm already pretty tired. After I'm done with them I get a great sense of accomplishment and I wobble home for the weekend.

I love the goblet squat to warmup for low bar back squat for the same reasons. Get deep and drive your knees out.

Years ago when I was studying for my PT cert, Step up's were rated as one of the top athletic/functional patterns.
I'm just so addicted to the barbell movements. Tonight is legs, I'll try and get either some step-ups or Bulbarian split-squats to add to the list.
For me, I notice the leg striations and thickness really pop when I do a lot of sets of leg extensions. I prioritize squats but it is an observation i've made in my own progress. Can't really deny it.

I like high rep, big ROM bodyweight step-ups as a finisher after my RDLs and high bar squats. Really feel the glutes especially and quads on those, and it's a simple way to work in some unilateralism, plus balance work and explosiveness from a dead stop at the bottom.
