  • I love taking off pickguards and having a nosey inside. I've done this with all my guitars as I need to know what's going on inside.

    Overall, I think the Mustang is very impressive on the electrical side of things.

    I was surprised by the good quality too. Even the Japanese Fender Mustangs I had all came with small pots.

    What are the chances of changing the pickups so they have separate wires from each coil so you can do coil spiting by changing one of the pots to add a push pull selection for the split. Is the body deep enough to accommodate the push pull pot? Which pickups would recommend that would give a sweet sound for solo leads and still OD and distortion quality with minimum hum? Cheers good vids. Thanks!

    Anyone know why Squiers are wired with the pickup output wire (from the switch) going to the pot wiper?

    Hi! Question friend, where those 2 or 4 wire pickups? I couldn't quite see. Thanks for the vids; you helped me decide to get a stang too. Keep on keepin' on!

      Hi Matty, they are two wire pickups. They COULD be split but you'd need to get inside it to get to the 4 wires. Not an easy task

    How many wires have the pickups?
    Is possible to switch the pickups to single coil mode?
    Greetings from Barcelona.

      The pickups only have 2 wires. It's possible to open up the pickups and get access to the four wires but that's not a simple task. I have a video in the works so if you can hold off on that mod, I'll explain how to do it.

    I changed the pickups in my mustang but I can't find any within diagrams. I'd like to keep this box title of pickup selector. Does anybody know how these work?

      Tabloid Junkie hi, i would love to help but I'm not sure what you're asking here

    • @erickt1974

      TheGuitarGeek the pickup selector on this mustang is the box style rather than the type of selector found on other guitars. It was 3 lil nubs in a row and then one in front. If you'd happen to know how exactly it's wired I'd be highly appreciative. Thank you for replying! A lot of youtubers ignore comments.

    • @TheGuitarGeek
      @TheGuitarGeek  7 років тому +3

      No, the quality is good and it's an unnecessary expense at the moment.

      TheGuitarGeek +sweet, any plans on swapping pickups too? those seem pretty good as is

    • @TheGuitarGeek
      @TheGuitarGeek  7 років тому +1

      No, I'm not swapping the pickups. I really don't think they need it. If this was to be my number 1 then yes I would but I will leave the stock pickups in. It has inspired me to maybe get a Fender Mustang at some point though.
