Let's just be honest in terms of the sequence of writing, which is what matters here, if we can step outside of the lore analysis for a moment. Tolkien wrote The Hobbit first, and probably just didn't think much about the Arkenstone, or see the need to give it any further back story. He will have found the tales within LOTR and The Silmarillion far more interesting and important, and honestly just didn't think of setting up the story to make this connection work. It sounds like a nice idea to us, but TBH had he done it, it probably would have felt more like a cheap Easter egg, and he was above that.
I guess Tolkien was fond of his jewels! I never got why he gives jewelry such importance, but then again this might be a deeper connection with Nordic mythology he very much copied...
Tolkien was truly a master of mythopoeia. The nuances of the Arkenstone, and it's final resting place, is pure poetry.
If both groups were in the Grey Mountains, why would Thorin need to journey there? Did you mean one group was somewhere else?
Not sure how anyone could think it was a Silmaril if you know their history.
Fascinating video to watch

This question is easy to answer, no it's not a Silmaril. It's absolutely not and if you read you would know that.
No, 6 isn't a Silmaril because the Silmarils were unbreakable and couldn't be reshaped even by dwarves.
he said that...?
No. It's clearly not a Silmaril.
The real question is, who cares?
You must. You saw the video and posted.
