Nice concept. For those who didn't understand the storyline, here we go: Basically there are two narratives: the dream, shot in B&W and the reality, shot in color. Both Prateek and the old man are one person. The old man is what Prateek will turn out to be in the future if he didnt change the way he lives and doesnt do what he loves. This argument can be supported by the following shots: At 0.06, a picture of a baby is shown. Prateek doesnt have kids. The only kid common to both the characters as well as the story is Prateek himself. In other words, this can be seen as the happy 'past' in Prateek's life. Novel 'Sixth man' is shown briefly. This indicates the 'awakening' Prateek will be expected to undergo as seen in the novel. Later, we can see the old man saying 'he knows about insurance'. Prateek mentions that he writes quite well and was enthusiastic about it. The old man feels irritated about his own skill but later mentions that he too 'used' to write. The tone with which both talk about their family is similar. Both are unsatisfied with their martial life. Note, both doesnt have kids.(The mention of kids of the old man is cleverly avoided). The old man pleads with Prateek to change. This is as if the 'future' is begging the 'present' to change his course of life so that the future being can live less suffocating life. This entire interpretation is made clear when Prateek sees himself dead instead of the old man when he kills him. This is the first twist. And the guy who stares at 'both' of them(this also shows both are one person). That guy is the personification of guilt, worthlessness or whatever you call that kills him from inside. The future being want to get rid of that darkness that has built inside him for years and had turned a whole new form. Prateek sees him as he confesses that he is unhappy with his life. This is the second twist. The fact that the whole incident is a dream is the third twist. This is also an excuse for drafting such an abstract concept. His inner self urges him to change. That's the whole point. Basically, the moral of the film is do what you love instead of succumbing to the pressures of the society. Hope this helps!
