These are my go to boots. I live in SC and can wear them year round as a day below 32F is rare. I’ve been wearing them in some pretty rugged terrain packing upwards of 40 pounds of gear at times with zero issues. I cross LOTS of creeks with them and have not had any issues with leaking as was hinted at.
Great review! Thank you very much - was wondering about the stiffness and this video cover that question, thanks again!
You betcha. Thanks for watching Jonathan!
Seems like multiple people complain on every boot review. Guess what folks, THEY ALL LEAK. Get over it. It's the same with rain jackets. If yours doesn't leak, just give it time . Unless it's full PVC/rubber.
I’ve been looking to get a pair of the Salewa Boots. I have a wide foot, which one of their models would give me the most width in the forefoot? Great video and thanks.
fits my feet well will be getting another pair!
Good to hear!
hi Chris thanks for the vid, do you know the release date of this boot ?
Hi Chris! Great vid! Ive been checking out the Selewa alp trainer mid gtx, gonna try them out. Can i ask you what thermal hoodie you have on in this video, im looking for something similar? Thanks -Pete
Hey Pete. Porter is wearing the Stone Glacier Helio Hoody. You can find it here in our gear shop: shop.gohunt.com/products/stone-glacier-helio-hoody-2021
Yes it does leak! Not even hardly worn, and just wet grass, got through! And where the rubber toe Rand meets the top of the toe material fell apart real quick. Sorry, love all your vids and just got a Stone Glacier pack that you all convinced me to get and tins of other things, but those boots....never again! Sorry and thanks!!
Thanks for the feedback, Kenny! We'll pass that along to our Boot Manager!
May have been a fault. I rode a motorbike in rain for 4 days and they held up really well. That's with rain falling on top of them and getting splashed from below.
Do they make these in wide sizes?
How do these compare to Salomon GTX 4?
do you think are enough for hiking iceland and volcanic rocks? Or i will break the soles easily on volcanic rocks?
Hey there, thanks for reaching out. Our boot experts would love to help you out with any questions you may have and provide some excellent recommendations. Shoot them an email at boots@gohunt.com and they will get you taken care of. Best of luck this season!
Hello, I fish on slippery rocks, can I use these shoes? will they cling well to the ground and will they resist to water?
Thanks.
These Salewa boots have a vibram sole that is fairly tacky to give you grip on slippery rock. Also it is a gore-tex waterproof boot so it should keep you dry. The Salewa ALP Trainer mid is a lightweight, flexible, waterproof boot.
Wildfire gtx Mid please
Looking for an early season elk boot for Colorado (Sept) Thinking about this boot what do you think ?? Thanks for your time !!
Salewa's Alp Trainer Mid GTX is the perfect boot for the ounce counting backcountry hunter looking to run and gun. Flexible, lightweight and waterproof. If you prefer more ankle support and stiffness you might want to look at some other Salewa options that we carry, such as the Rapace or the Mountain Trainer Mid GTX.
@@GOHUNT Awesome Thanks ! Just wish they made it in a brown/green................................
@@DROPTINE they do make it in brown.
@@arttrumbo9496 Thanks !

A review is exactly that .. you need to use them, put them through their paces and follow up with a ‘review’ this is merely a sales pitch reading of the company specs..
Ps . They leak .
Im confused by your comment.. He literally said he wore them hunting. Also, it IS a sales pitch. He literally works for the company that sells them so why wouldn't it be a sales pitch.
