The Samsung Galaxy Book Go is a budget series laptop that brings a high quality laptop with plenty of mobile power for day to day activities such as school work, word processing, web browsing, and more, all for the low MSRP of about $350, and has frequent sales and lower prices that make it much more attractive. The Galaxy Book Go is a great bud get laptop for kids, teenagers, students, college, and getting basic work done on the go that doens't break the bank. I just need a laptop for school; I'm tired of carrying my iPad everywhere..this includes to college...I feel so useless when everyone pulls out a laptop and I got my iPad LOL

In your opinion, how does this compare to the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook? I'm a student and debating between the two.
A good review but as a professor, I have to caution against anyone claiming an ARM-based Windows device will be "great" for undergrads. Yes, you can take notes and do basic productivity tasks, but the moment you have to install an application for a class that doesn't work on ARM, you're going to be out of luck. Stats, math, sciences, geography will all have software students are expected to run (often provided free or at low cost from the university's IT department) but if you can't run them on ARM, you'll have to make a lot of trips to the department's computer lab or the computers available in the library. This is why I'm always sad to see first-year students show up to my class with a Chromebook (or, now, I suppose a Galaxy Book Go...) because I know it may have worked fine for them in High School, but they're going to learn it would be so much easier to have an Intel, AMD, or Apple silicon-powered laptop instead.
Thank you for your input professor! I was going to get this for college since it's on cyber monday sale for $60 right now but if it's not going to hold up to simple college courses and programs then why bother.

Just like the Apple M1 and related processors (which are ARM chips), the processors that run Windows on ARM can run x86 programs via virtualization. It's slower than running a program natively, but it is fully supported. That said, this is a low-end machine with a processor built for better connectivity, thermals and battery life than the often more capable mobile Celeron and Athlon processors of the same price bracket, and anything that's slow to run on a mid-2010s midrange desktop PC is going to slow this to a crawl.
@@zimbu_ True, but virtualization on the Apple M1 processors is worlds better than the ARM chip on this laptop. I posted that as someone who bought and quickly returned this laptop (I also own an M1 MacBook Pro). Under Windows 10, there were dozens of x86 applications I regularly use that either failed to install on this laptop or ran with painful lag. The situation changed for the better after upgrading the OS to Windows 11 (so yay for Microsoft on making virtualization improvements on ARM) but the "slowing to a crawl" was very much part of the experience here.
For all those techies here who claims to be experts and returned the product, just by the look on the specs, you won't even bother to buy it!
All those Apple users, why try samsung??? Once you have an Apple, you can never go to other brands. That's how they condition your mind. So Why??? Getting short in cash huh??? LOL...
Checks all the boxes for me. UA-cam, online streaming, browsing and long battery life. Cheap enough at this point to retry ARM processors. Didn’t have a good experience with the original Surface RT.
And it supports 64 bit apps

Bought one of these recently when Best Buy was dumping them for $78. Of course it's no powerhouse, but for this price, this is a nice little laptop. Win 11 has good enough ARM/x64 compatibility. Just using it for surfing, writing and my kids friends play Roblox on it when we need an extra laptop. I ordered a much better IPS screen for it from Amazon- the stock TF display is garbage. It's super easy to replace the screen- snap the front bezel off, unscrew the panel, and install the replacement. It took me 5 minutes and now this is a nice little laptop with far better viewing angles. As long as a user isn't trying to do heavy lifting with this thing, it's decent for basic tasks- just look for it on sale cheap.

@@TechOdyssey NT140FHM-N43 (IPS, matte or glossy) is the model screen. The original is screwed in, but the replacement came with sticky adhesive strips.

4GB ram wont cut it with windows or even Linux today, you will be using lots of swap space on the ssd ; plus the fact that the SSD is soldered on, it will wear out quickly and can not be replaced

It's windows so I'm guessing yes. However, Windows Defender is built in and is a decent Antivirus software

Seems like it's decent enough for the price point, but if you need a bit more from it it'd be worth it to just save up a bit more for a proper laptop (especially if you're going to do any work with data).

I bought this and returned it before I got the flex alpha 2. Couldn't deal with the screen quality

It would be ok for that but the screen and speakers aren’t great. I would recommend maybe a Tab S7 FE if you can get one for $350 or less, if you just want a multimedia device for stuff like that. Or even an iPad 10.2” 2022 for $329 or less.

It's a pity that Android emulation in W11 has been delayed, but I think Android games should run fine on this machine.

Hey Adam cool video nice galaxy go book, anything samsung galaxy I love you can call me galaxy fan boy ha ha the sound test you did wow sounded really nice , cool little galaxy book, iam still in love with my galaxy A7 tablet best tablet I ever had super cool. Plus people who have the galaxy S21 ultra like myself are very satisfied with there smart phone because the S22 looks it every thing the S21 has.

For anyone with one of these, have you noticed any heating issues with long term use?
I've had one a couple of months- no heating issues at all. It doesn't even have a fan and doesn't need one. Using it on my lap it's cool to the touch.
@@Zactivist I actually bought one right after posting this as well. I bought a refurbished 5G model through Walmart and after using it for a while, left a review about it on reddit. Since youtube doesn't like outside links, here is what I had to say about based upon my own experience:
1. Games. Nobody, especially gamers, is buying this to play games on unless they are idiots.
2. Price. I do think that at full price it's overpriced, which is why I bought a refurbished one from Walmart.
3. OMG! A laptop made out of plastic! Say it isn't so! I find people who complains about the materials it's made out of are just too nitpicky and expect the best of everything. Here's the thing, all the laptop's I have ever owned since I first started buying them in 2009 have been made of plastic and it's what most laptops were made out of before many companies started using different metal materials like aluminum and many others. Get over it.
4. Screen Qality. I do agree that the screen quality isn't the best, but most people are probably just using this for light work, especially college students who just want something to type notes on, do a little homework, write an essay, and light browsing. Also, if you are like me and purchase a refurbished one and can afford it, you can replace the screen panel. FYI, I didn't bother replacing the screen panel since this is just going to be a light on the go computer.
5. Speed. Again, back to number 1. You are not in competition with the Flash. This is geared as a budget laptop on the go for doing light things and not heavy things like gaming. You don't need top of the line CPU's and GPU's for light work and if you break it trying to do those things then that's on you and not the laptop.
6. Apps. I have had no trouble installing and using any of my everyday apps on the ARM processor because as I've said repeatedly, it's for light work.
7. I also see people claiming that it's constantly overheating while doing light work. I've not had this issue at all. So, either these users are lying about what they were really doing with it, or they are just one of the unlucky ones to actually receive a faulty product. If it's the latter I'm sorry you experienced this but please tell me, you got the warranty.
8. Battery Life. This is a big selling point, especially for students who need a laptop that will see them through the day for about 3 to 5 hours of constant use. I usually only recharge this every other day and am happy with it.
Which USB HUb type C is the most recommended for this model?
Any hub should do

Got mine at Walmart for $99 same model......imagine wait a while and get it for a better price......runs apps, from windows, Android, Google I must be a Kid, going to get another. WIFI only Model. screen is good enough
I swapped out the screen in mine in under 5 minutes. I bought the same panel on Amazon (NT140FHM-N43) IPS ( glossy or matte.) I got the matte screen, and with an IPS screen this laptop is so much better. Swap wasn't hard to do either. Buying a screen from the brand Screenarama- comes with all needed tools, and really the only tool I needed was a plastic spludger they send to work just under the black bezel and pop it slowly off. Then you can unscrew the stock TN screen, lay it on the keyboard, unhook the 30 pin connector. Then connect new screen which won't have screw mounts but you don't need them- just use two strips of the included adhesive on either side of the screen and carefully lay it in place. It's best to leave the adhesive pull tabs up at the top of the screen so if you ever need to unstick it you can just pull the adhesive out from the top. Anyway- I highly recommend an IPS screen replacement on this for anyone that has one.
Who would even game on a laptop in this price range anyway? Even if it's an Intel or amd, it's not going to do any real gaming anyway.

I'm trying to understand your video, at one end you say nice things about then you say really bad things about the item. Maybe doing a Pros and Cons video review would be better. I noted you stated you can't game on this computer's ARM tech, you can run Google Stadia on this computer perfectly. This computer is actually designed for a larger group of people seniors who need something simple, young who don't have money, people (digital nomads) on the go and anyone who are "browsers." This is a great device if you need something more than a tablet. I purchased the first Galaxy Book and love it on the go. This got a bit better with the ARM tech so I can run a little further between charges. I am a digital nomad and need a computer on the go and I have my MacBook Pro to do the big stuff like photo editing and web design when I am back at the hotel or home. At the $350 to $700 range I would rather purchase this computer than a tablet priced in this price point.
I highlighted the purpose of what this laptop is for and who it’s for and said what it’s good for. Can it play Stadia? I guess. I have never used Stadia. My point was traditional gaming and compatibility for software. It does basic things well and is no frills and perfectly fine for the price. I’m not really sure what you’re looking for here.

No, will be pretty bad for games as it will be emulating an x86 cpu, but when Android support comes to W11 properly, it maybe better than an x86/64 PC for Android games as the cpu is native to them

I'm actually quite surprised that Samsung would sell such an underwelming device for $300+. HP is selling a laptop that's $50-$150 more with an Intel Core I3 Processor, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, and 256GB of SSD Storage. Samsung, how Anti-Competitive can you get if you want to offer the Best Value Products?

@@chinaboss6683 it's HPs 14inch 1080p Laptops. And yes that is actually the name, they usually upgrade each model with every generation of Intel or Ryzen Processor. Usually an Intel Core i3 or Ryzen 3/5
