Sounds amazing 🤩 can’t wait to try it I am making your quick rice and lentils casserole to night to give it a try can’t wait to try it .thanks for the recipe.❤
@@asimpleseason2616 Hi 👋 we did love 💕 it and it made a lot enough for lunch again today or dinner again .I served it with a garden salad 🥗 very filling
@@asimpleseason2616 hi 👋 thank for the recipes I want to try the Italian style RAGU Napoleon next that looks so good 😊. Enjoy 😊 the rest of your weekend .
We here in SC are still without electricity. I want to tell you that your advice about being prepared for power outages helped us so much! I have water saved under every sink, tea lights and sterno for cooking, a radio with batteries, food stored in the pantry and the list goes on. We’ve been using all of this and it has helped us in a very difficult time. Still a week ahead predicted until we get power back, but thanks to your advice, we are going to make it!
Ciao Lisa! Ma quanta sei brava!!!! I can almost smell the magnificent aroma of the ragu! Hai fatto benissimo!!! Buon'appetito!!! Saluti da NY! S.gra D....a Neopolitan girl!❤
Good Morning Lisa, I'm at the airport already. I'll be there in a little while to eat of your delicious meal. 😋 God bless you and your lovely followers! 🙌 ❤
You might be able to find passata in the import section of your grocery store...if not, crushed tomatoes in the can will be good too ...thanks for the visit :)
Lisa. My mom is from Avellino. And this is one of her classic family sauce. This and her braciole 🙌👌👌👌 Thank you for the reminder the best part is the most tender 🥩 Delicious. 😋🌹🌼🌼🌼👌🇮🇹🍝
Your recipe brought back a childhood memory ❤ and your recipe sounds wonderful! My mother who was taught by a few Italian neighbors always cooked her sauce with a spoonful of sugar, pork chops or some kind of beef along with shredded carrots! Have you heard of shredded carrots being cooked in the sauce?
Omgosh Lisa! Tomorrow's (Sunday) dinner for sure. We dont have "strained" tomatoes here in NW Indiana. Canned "pureed" tomatoes or canned tomato "sauce" is what we have. I'm going to use the pureed tomorrow and the sauce next time. I hope mine tastes as good as yours. Thank you once again!
I was wondering the same.I use lots of garlic, also add a bay leaf or two and remove before serving. That's how my Italian grandmother and great grandmother made it.They were from the North and Abruzzo so they might make it different than South Italy.
@@asimpleseason2616 Thank you for responding Lisa, I was just curious as so many of my favorite Italian recipes call for garlic, I thought there might be a specific reason…I do love my garlic!😉
I’ve really been enjoying your videos- can’t wait to try this Ragu. You use an interesting knife that I am not familiar with. Have you always used this type of knife? If not, did it take getting used to? Thank you!
Yes, the short ribs are good to buy when they're on sale but you can use pork neck bones (just be careful of small bones ending up in the sauce when you eat it) or stew meat is good too :)
I really want to try my hand at this one, but I am not familiar with strained tomatoes. Do they go by another name in US? As they are bottled, I'd expect them to be near spaghetti sauces in the store.I didn't see any.
They usually go by “crushed tomatoes,” but you could also use a can of whole tomatoes and blend them yourself! Check the tomato aisle in your grocery store :)
Love your videos! They are like a big hug from a good friend! Can't wait to try this recipe it looks fantastic!
What a nice thing to say, Kathleen, thank you for your visit and hope you have a great week :)
You said it beautifully! Lisa's videos are like a welcome visit from a good friend. 🙏🌞❤️

Same. I used sauce, and it worked out great. Enjoy!
Hi Lisa, this looks delicious, I will definitely give this a try. May I ask why you did not use garlic in the Ragù?
I was wondering the same.I use lots of garlic, also add a bay leaf or two and remove before serving. That's how my Italian grandmother and great grandmother made it.They were from the North and Abruzzo so they might make it different than South Italy.
You can certainly add garlic if you like, Carmen...sometimes it's nice to switch up the flavor :)

Thank you so much Lisa! I love your kindness and smile. Do you mind to share the brand of the big pot? It looks nice
It's from the pioneer woman line...I bought it a few years ago so I'm not sure they still have it
I’ve really been enjoying your videos- can’t wait to try this Ragu. You use an interesting knife that I am not familiar with. Have you always used this type of knife? If not, did it take getting used to? Thank you!
I've had this knife for years and I can't seem to find another one like it. I keep my eye out for one because it's one of my favourites
Honey cuts the sourness of the tomatoes. MMMmmm!
Your ragu looks so good!! Is there a cut of meat that can be used if short ribs are not available? They seem to be quite expensive nowadays.
Yes, the short ribs are good to buy when they're on sale but you can use pork neck bones (just be careful of small bones ending up in the sauce when you eat it) or stew meat is good too :)

extra garlic ?
Yes please
We have been making Amatriciana sauce ever sine I found a market that carries guanciale.
