A bad rear plug was the reason the rear cylinder kept dropping out. Once replaced, on another video, the engine runs PERFECTLY! Here is the review article. sceptreflight.com/Model%20Engine%20Tests/Saito%20FA-200Ti.html
Looking forward to the next run/video with the new glow plug. I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised at just how well behaved this engine is. Great job on the video.
Saitos with dual glow plugs they start glowing after leaning high speed near optimum for 5 to 10 seconds, when they start there is a slightly increase in RPM that is more notorios un single cyl, fa 120 sp saito fa 300 tddp, saito 450 & some versions of saito fa 320 área equiped with dual plugs, i have some experience with them. Great & beautifull engines.
that is very awesome, id like to get my Saito Fa-45 rebuilt. my grandpa gave it to me cause hes unfortunately old and hes gonna give me all his electric and cool nitro airplanes and engines. if i can get my Saito rebuilt and tuned that would be awesome.
Wow what a beautiful piece of kit!, always loved Saito. A question, I've got a giant 10.5 ft vintage Southerner that I've taken out of storage, powered by my OS 91 Surpass (with the black valve cover). I unsiezed the motor, mainly the cam followers, reinstalled, (inverted). I was amazed that she fired up first time!!, however, she only continues running (roughly) after a few choke presses on the exhaust or carb, doesn't seem to run at peak and doesn't idle too good. Historically the 91 has been an incredibley reliable and faithful motor. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
Inverted installations have many operational difficulties and that is why I never did them in the past. Test the engine operation upright to see if it is the installation causing the issue.
Hello, my names Rodrigoand i have a 200ti saito, iwould like to know what setting you did to run the engine witihout a cylinder going out. Mine only works with a mechanical glowdriver that is turned on at low rpm and powered a 1.2v battery...i used the gas ( wildcat 15%nitro)...

What makes you think it needs to be rebuilt?

Idf someone wanted to send a engine to you...how would they do it??
Well at this point they wouldn't. You need to watch my Hard Choices video.
Does the second glow plug in each cylinder light on its own without a glow driver?
That is the theory.
sweeet
i think you need a new plug in cylinder 2 !
Yes, I mentioned that in the PINNED comment above......
David McIntire so you did haha
