- This is how I fix my Nexus 7 when it gets stuck on the Google Logo. Sorry for the bad quality. I took this while at work and this doesn't happen often so, I took advantage of the opportunity. I hope this helps you guys.
wtf?? This worked! A thousand years into the future, this is how we will still be fixing things.
Brilliant!!! Every other site suggests all kinds of complicated software fixes. I couldn't even understand what they were saying. This fixed the problem right away! Thank you!
+Jennifer Ondrejka I'm glad I was able to help.
Because its a hardware issue
But those bootloader &c. fixes should fix the problem permanently.
For anyone who still has one thrown in a drawer:

I'm still shocked that this worked for me in just 5 seconds. Thanks for the insight. Tapping is the new way forward 😃
I just resuscitated my 9 yo tablet using this trick. Recovered a bunch of old pics. Big thanks from Brasil!
This is the dumbest and at the same time most brilliant fix to a tech issue I have ever seen. Worked perfectly
Been searching for a decent fix for hours. Shocked when yours worked. Many thanks, bro!
Who would've thought?! Thanks for sharing this DJ SPY, tablet was driving me nuts..
Wow! It's worked!! I know this sometimes works when the auto screen rotation stops working. It's like fixing an very old TV. What a sophisticated device! Thank you for your help!!
+Takanobu Nakamura glad i was able to help!
im speak less!!! it worked!!!!!
I can't believe this, I've been troubleshooting for days, installing ROMs and flashing all kinds of crap ... and this actually fixed it for me. The tablet started booting! Thank you man.
Truly unbelievable. Dozens of hopeless threads on different forums; people reimaging their devices; some - buy new tablets.
At least, this is my story - flashed it with new image, and even that didn't help.
Your solution looked like a hoax, but I was desperate. It bloody worked!
Wow! This worked. For such a sophisticated piece of technology, I love that tapping the back powers it up and hot gluing a piece of cardboard on the inside of the back cover fixes the accelerometer.
Thanks, man!
You are a legend, my nexus was stuck on that Google screen for over day, I tried everything -- this was the only thing that worked. It took repeated tapping for like 2 minutes, it finally turned back on!
This is the weirdest way i've ever fixed an electronic device lol. Thanks!
Wow! Thank you for this. I've been messing with my tablet for the past 3 days and was about to try the factory reset. Now my data is saved. . . . off to make a backup now! Thanks again!
WTF!!! Its freakin works!!! How on earth you can come up with this witchcraft??? Ive tried all the recovery and all software bs crap, nothing... Literally nothing works. But this tapping and hard push on rear casing IS working!!! Tons of thanks bro!!!
Another THIS ACTUALLY WORKS!!! testimony. (Yes, I'm still using my 9 year old tablet. Hey, it still does what its supposed to do!)
I was skeptical, but what have you got to lose? I tried it and it worked! Thank you!
This is akin to something we ran across in USAF aircraft MX, called "reseated cannon plug, op ck good". (Many of those systems were 25 - 30 years old at the time!) Aircrew and non-MX did not like this fix...but sometimes that's all it took. Just a little oxidation on a pin could cause malfunctions. Reseating the plug would scrape off the oxidation and the wiring would regain continuity and the pretty little lights would start working again!
I absolutely thought this was a joke but it worked on the first try. Thanks.
It's 2022 and it still worked on my N7 :D Thanks man!
My guy! You just made my day! My tablet has been stuck for days and I have unfinished artwork on it. Thank you.
Crazy that this actually works. Interesting...
Get. The. Fack. Outta. Here. I've had to hard reset this thign before. Done the whole hold down and power button to get into recovery mode, etc. So when It was stuck on the Google screen and would not hard reset I thought I was screwed. Literally tapping it on it's back like a gawddang baby couching fixed it! Holy Crap I owe you. I almost threw it out!
Haha! honestly thought this was horseshit but it works!! After searching for a solution on the web for ages, this tip actually not only works, but tablet is running smoothly too! Legend!!
I can't believe it, it worked. I accidentally made it work one day after i banged it out of anger, but i just thought it was pure chance. Thanks Man.
I honestly thought this was bullshit, but I figured I'd try it, and see if it did anything, because it was only going to take about 30 seconds or so. And when it didn't work, I was going to move on to the next video. Mine would not do anything on the Power + Vol Down menu. Restart, Bootloader, recovery, or power down. Well, excuse me. It WOULD power down. Nothing else worked.
Low and behold, it freaking worked. Thank you for this video.
Please tell me how you figured this out?
Thank you, I was stuck for months ! That's amazing.
Friend, I don't know how you discovered this, but you've really saved me a lot of time today. Thank you for sharing with us!
Dude.
You are the Steely Eyed Missile Man of the Nexus 7 Universe.
This worked ! I thought my old trusty tablet was dead . Thank you .
This is a temporary fix that works by re-seating the touch-screen connections. It'll only last until the device has been knocked around enough to loosen the connections again.
+fozzibab yeah, the problem comes back after a while. But it beats spending hundreds of dollars on a me device.
At first, I thought you were a Troll........but then I looked at the like to dislike ratio, and tried your method. Sure enough, my tablet came back to life......not sure why this works, but awesome video man. A Troll you ARE NOT. LOL
I can't believe this actually worked :P
Wow!! woked for me. Thought it was a joke but after some taps and pressing it worked!!! Thank u A LOT!!!
Yeah!!! Thank you. Was so afraid I was going to have to reboot, clear cache and all that other stuff, this worked easy peasy, thanks!
Thanks for posting! This actually worked! I followed the steps and it showed the Google logo again. I thought it failed, but I let it sit there for a minute or so and then got the dancing icons.
ALL SET!++++++
Who woulda thunk it? It worked. Thanks so much!!
Lol here I am in 2020 trying to boot my nexus 7 to backup my old pics, amazed this worked, thank u 🙏
Insane fix, but works every time. Thank you
Wow. So this actually became a known solution for the problem.
your a absolute legend mate thanks very much👍👍👍
+Jason C you're welcome. I'm glad it worked for you!
Never would have thought that would work... Also explains why mine gets stuck in portrait mode.
This is communication.
We all have been thinking in the few seconds previous to this video “if this doesn’t work I will throw it away and by a new one, it’s been four years now”, but this video takes the time to repair the object.
No need to watch the please subscribe
Nothing else
Just information
Worked like a charm. You've made me a hero in my wife's eyes, so I'm going to enjoy my status till I screw up again.
"Two minutes later." said in exaggerated French accent.
Well that didn't last long, did it?😁
Seriously, Thanks!
Wow. My 5 year old tablet has come to life again. Wireless charging and tapping on the back. Unreal. Thank you for this video!
It worked for me too!!! Man, you're a genius! Thanks a lot!!!
Works for me too! Crazy. ..
Just worked for me! Thank you very much!
Will go now to backup all my data, not wanting to lose them!
I just needed additionally press a power button shortly, and it continues and finishes the boot process
Sitting here punching my tablet until it works again... and it works again!
Ha ha ha haaaaaa ha ha. I can't believe this actually worked....... 3x taps on the back as show turned Nexus over.... stares in disbelief as Nexus comes to life If I could I would come and shake your hand.. Thank you for sharing this 🤣😂😍
I’m sure I’ve just watch this video for like the 15th time in a couple of years thank you so much again
I am impressed. It worked for my tablet. Thanks.
Okay. I was really, really frustated with this tablet and tried this "method" and it really worked. I was this surprised when i had first time sex. Thank you man.
Wtf that's amazing. I thought my tablet was done. Just like that it's working again.
I thought that it was the end of my Nexus 7 tablet already. Doing the tapping returned it back to normal. Wow, thanks alot!
Wow... worked first time. Cheers dude!
...it worked..I was running this complicated fix and stumbled on this...thanks!!
Today, coming out of standby the Nexus7 screen was unresponsive (it happens from time to time) but powering in and out of standby generally cured that. Occasionally, only rebooting would.
This time I had to force Nexus7 off by holding down the power button. After rebooting, Google remained like forever. Searching the symptom led me to this video. Tapped Nexus7 just *once* on the back and it came back to life. WTF?! Thanks for the great tip! I was about to attempt a factory reset(!)
Actually, the tablet seems to be running as good now as when it was new. It's suddenly feels more responsive. Bizarre!
thank you very much, I just fixed my tablet like this.
respect to u man
I never would have thought that this will work... thanks so much!
What the f***, I thought what the hell are you doing but It worked. I never thought this could have fixed this. That so cool
This is absolutely working.... absolutely. It can take time but absolutely. Just tap n tap.
Great guide. I don't want to reset cause, I experienced the issue twice. The first encounter was, the reset option the recommend did not work. But, after nine months without using the tablet and charge back. Sundenly it boots up. But, when I left at home, after my daughter used it again, the same prob occurs.Following the guide fix it.I think, the issue occurs when the unit was used without proper ventilation, for instance put it on hard surface while using it. Then, heat was ignored and unit was not turned off to let it cools own.
oh my gawd! was gearing up to send it in for repairs and all this other foolishness, but your vid fixed it!!! thank you!
Amazing! It also worked for me!
Wow thanks dude, I thought it was finished ! ! !
you made my day, I tryed many fixes and .... woow ... nocking helped
There is an accelerometer internally that is poorly shielded and poorly made, and it gets disoriented, or doesn't function. I disassembled mine and put some thin foam shielding around it and it works very well, but tapping and squeezing with pressure on the back can make it work temporarily. There are other videos showing how to take it apart, but it's not super easy.
thanks work like a charm
Wtf.. this actually worked. Magic is strong in this one.
Thank you very much. My Nexus 7 is back up and running
WTF!!! IT WORKS!!!
It actually works. Soo good damn simple hardware fix(without even opening).
A repair guy told me that, this hardware issue is common and the solution is to heat the memory ship for some time, and no other solution iscurrently available to fix it.... Well.... there is now...:D
that was my bro.. thanx a lot u fixed my nexus. I cant believe it..thank you very much
Thanks it worked. How do you find this solution?
Wow. I thought this was bs when I read it on a forum. Then again, I’m not surprised, because I sometimes have to smack my tablet to get the touch screen to work. Thank you so very much for this video, haha
Brilliant, it worked!! Many thanks
This totally worked! I wonder what the actual cause of the issue is and why tapping on the back like this allows it to boot...? It would be nice to be able to open it up and permanently fix it somehow. Maybe a loose solder joint or something?
lol, it actually worked. device stayed at the "Google" logo with no change overnight, this morning i watched this video, now with the tap it boots right up. lol.
Duuuuddde... it worked!!! Crazy. Thanks!
It worked! - Thanks so much.
Don't know how, or why, this works. But after 2 years of not working I did this and holy shit
The same for the Nexus 5! It worked! Thank you!
worked for me as well. brilliant
What kind of witchcraft it is!?!!? It works!!
This. Is. Awesome. It works! You are like techno-energyhealer.
Yes, this procedure works much faster for me as I get more professional in that type of "massage": need to know exact place of the spot, it is upper of letter S of NEXUS by nearly 1.5-2.5cm, centered on device width-wise, upper by one finger of S and the spot size also like a thumb.
Why this works: it's a connector of sensor devices under back cover exactly there.
I guess my repair man in service center forgot to put back the small hold-down sponge on the plastic cover which keeps the connector always down and always in electrical cobtact. (I guess this was when he was assembling the device after USBport repair. )
I totally thought this was a spoof until I read the comments. How the hell does this work? I was a few seconds away from flashing the factory image. Thanks for sharing!
OMG it actually works!!! Thanks for the tip!!!
WORKED FOR ME!
I've thought I'd have to throw away the tablet this time. XD
Man, it incredibly worked for me. Ty
OMG! Just worked with Nexus 9 bootloop. Thx.
THANK YOU. I thought I had fried my tablet and had given up!
OMFG!!! This worked for me too!!! Thank you dude!!! Why is this happening!?!?!? Thank you anyway!
+Jaime Carrión you're welcome! I've read in some places that if you have a case on it, it might have to do with the magnets on it. But no one knows for sure.
