I want to create an experiential book of shadows of my journey into the wild unseen rather than a book of information that I copied down from other sources. I want this book of shadows to reflect my everyday witchy practice. Beautiful! I'm just starting to investigate and find out more about magic and elements, I find already that it helps to keep me centred. Sometimes i feel a fraud for not understanding everything yet but theres so much to learn! I'll keep trying my hardest though!
Hi Sneaky - oh that insidious imposter syndrome - ignore it! We are all students! I started on this path in my early 20s and now 37 years later I’m still working with others to deepen my practice. My best advice would be to try to have a little daily practice - could be something as simple as a 9 minute meditation or a daily tarot pull or something much more elaborate. 🧙♀️🧙♀️

@@sneakypenguin2861 usually I have a daily tarot practice and during spooky season my witchy ways are ramped up to more often - like for tomorrow’s full moon I’ll be having a silent supper remembrance (and delving into a little mediumship as the veil gets thinner)…

Yaaaaas - making junk journals was my gateway 😂 Remember the Smashbook craze from, maybe 8 - 10 years ago? I had so many!

🤗 I use it a lot in my BOS - whether it’s my drawing or something I got off Canva - I can’t really erase on the paper in this BOS because it is almost like tissue and just gets destroyed by an eraser - the graphite paper at least helps me to get the lines down neatly but also it’s a game changer for me for titles/fonts 🤗🤗 Thanks so much for watching and commenting 🧙♀️

Oh my gosh, the idea of using graphite paper to transfer text and images onto the pages is so freaking clever! Wish I'd thought of that myself years ago because I might of actually started my BOS by now instead of being too scared of messing up! 😍

Plans are being made, ideas galore have been formed, sadly, however, gathering supplies has been slow due to finances but I am determined to see it through to the end this time! Next step is checking Amazon for graphite paper because I can't seem to find it in my area, lol! 😁
@@K.MorrisDavison yes that is the best place - I just looked and saw a pack of 30 pages of graphite paper with free prime shipping for $3.99 so maybe that will be okay? But I totally get you on finances and budget - everything is so expensive these days.

Oh yes! I love this book! So awesome that you got one! I actually mainly use gouache but I will use watercolor and even acrylics and ink - love mixed media. 😍😍

I've watched a lot of BoS creations and like the others have posted, yours is extremely calming and soothing and relaxing to watch. Clean and beautiful designs, not busy and your choice to use graphic paper is genius. Why didn't I think of that? I'd been using tissue paper, printing my images and fancy font texts and just gluing it in. Graphic paper is so much better an idea and personal as you can actually use your own hand to finalize the images and text. Thank you!
Awwww thank you! I’m so glad you liked it. For years I created BOS pages just pasting stuff in or trying to keep it neat and then decided to use graphite paper like I do when I am creating a painting (as an under-drawing). For me, it makes it so much better. 🤗🤗🤗

I love the idea of using the invisible ink! And also creating graphics in Canva and transferring them. I know a lot of people are afraid to make mistakes, and so might decide not to add graphics if they aren't confident in their artistic ability. Your method makes it a lot easier, even for someone who feels they can't draw.

Thank you so much for your kind words - you made my day! The songs I use in my videos are all from a company called Epidemic sound - I’m so glad you like them because I spend a crazy amount of time sifting through their catalog looking for exactly the right songs for each video.
And I’m so glad you were inspired to make your own drawings in your BOS - it really is easy when you can just transfer something you like and basically paint or color it in and It’s perfectly legal to use someone else’s drawings when it’s for personal use. 🤗🤗
I have just put a Boss together. I hand calligraphy wrote every page on front and back of each sheet of parchment paper. The inks I mixed myself using Dragons Blood , Bat's Blood , and Dove's Blood inks.
Hand bound , hardback book with all the essentials of my Traditional Tribal folklore blended into something that resembles British Traditional Witchcraft only focused on my Native American Heritage.
I even wrote it out in my Tribal language.

@@thewayofthewitch well after I individually had each sheet laminated ( to protect from wax dripping , wine spills etc.) I then measure 1 inch for page turning space. So I mixed up artists resin and applied from top to bottom of each page , measured them up and applied roughly 10 pounds of weight to hold them in place.
Basically did the same when time to add the volume of work to the book covers. Right now I am waiting for a month to test it to see if it worked. If so this is the one my students in my Coven will copy from

I went through a lot over the past 2 years and it changed me so I marked that change with a secret witchy name 😀😀 Never imagined I’d be into that but when I started looking at names and naming as old magicks - I changed my mind. Thinking about stories like Rapunzel, etc

Hi Robin! Yes transfer paper really helps minimize mistakes and can be so great for a consistent look to titles and other headings. For the journal itself, I put a link from Amazon in the description box. I’m not affiliated at all and make no compensation in any way BUT, I have to say - I really like it! The good paper makes all the difference - some journals look like this one but the paper inside them are terrible - I feel really lucky that I found this one and love that it was so reasonably priced
