    I’ve used napkins before with matte medium, but never thought of overpainting the napkin. Great idea!

    I'm quite sure that we all cheat at some stage, I don't think it's cheating, I think it's seeing fabulous ideas and using them in our work 🤣🤣🤣🤣🥰🥰

    As a artist who can and does draw I totally agree you don't have to draw to create great art. ❤❤❤ collage is a excellent way to create amazing art, that truth be told couldn't really be created by drawing. I wouldn't say it was cheating though. Personally im a huge fan of collage art. Much love ❤️ 🙏

    That napkin-based art is sooo cool! 😁😁😁😁 Fun facts: 1) Lavender, if you didn't know already, is a beautiful way to keep anxiety at bay. 2) If you're also into stones and crystals, black tourmaline is an excellent choice for taking away those anxious vibes, as it's very grounding. 3) Obsidian is another great choice for grounding if you have that on hand.

      @@KarenBurchill See, that's one of the reasons I looove the Impressionist era of art. You give the impression that there's a bridge over a lily pond, w/o having to be super-detailed! (Monet is top of the charts in that era for a reason. 😁)

    I like your work and napkins are a big favorite of mine, too. May I offer a humble idea? I heard you say "I can't draw." One might reset by saying instead "I don't draw." There's no reason to feel bad either way. And saying "I don't draw," you give yourself permission to begin to draw. Or not. Best wishes.

    • @KarenBurchill
      @KarenBurchill  7 місяців тому +2

      You are absolutely right...I am choosing not to draw , especially on video LOL...just not my comfort zone. That being said I do want others to lose the idea that if you cant draw you cant be an artist or creative. Thanks for your comment. K

    This page really speaks to me Karen! I love lavender too, but it’s not the easiest to grow in my clay soil. I’ve managed to keep one plant alive for about 10 years now. I planted a small bed of yellow Lady Banks rose, lavender, and pink, yellow, and purple petunias in the backyard with my granddaughter back when she was little. Although the petunias are long gone, it’s a lovely memory now. I would really love to have huge drifts of both lavender and rosemary mixed with old fashioned roses in the front yard! I’d love to see photos of your lavender some day. Thanks for the inspiration!

    • @KarenBurchill

      There is always some warping on the pages...If there's a lot I rub it on the edge of the table top and this flattens it somewhat. Primarily I use Canson Mixed Media Paper 98 lb weight. Thanks for watching. K
