Strings middle section is pure Elgar.
Hi Oskar, in m. 43, what do you mean with "Planning triads"?
I mean that all those triads move in parallel motion. More about: ua-cam.com/video/tDPLt9u7gQ8/v-deo.htmlsi=JN4nHXwhJwO3inEp
It should be written as "planing" actually, but I made a typo in the word, so I'm sorry for that.
@@oskarhrankowski Thank you!
Ook!!!!! [The best heroic fanfare.
EDIT: There is an error in the score @ 1:08. In the 6th bar after Db modulation there is no E played by the strings. That note appears only in later editions of the piece (like the 1991 recording). Also, 2nd last bar the flutes scale run is Db not D i think.]
Of course, this last run is Db...
And talking about this E, I used both concert version score and film version score (which was sometimes too blurry to read anything - especially in this part) so that's a great notice that those two versions have the difference! Thank you!
@@oskarhrankowski Ook! [I have the concert version as well. It's interesting to hear that the original film score is floating around. I'd love to get my hands on it. Anyway, going by what we hear in this version - there is no Eb (sorry, my bad - forgot about the key signature]. Does anyone know if for the live-with-movie performace they play the film or the concert version of this passage?]
You’re welcome
