I have a fan on the west side pulling air out and screens openings on the east side. Temps would still get into the 30 c in winter and 45 c+ in summer. I took out a section on top near the east side and made it a removal cover and place a screen to reduce insect activity. Temps now get too low 30 c on hot summer days, also I leave my door open with a bug screen. My GH house is sunken by 2 1/2 feet. Just to add I had extra solid 1' insulation and I inserted them between the joists to reduce sun exposure and hopefully will help in the winter for R-value. Thanks for the info, very helpful.
Still waiting for your greenhouse heat battery update. How's it going? I'm in the planning stage of a conservatory build off the back of my house. It will be 30 ft. By 60 ft. With a year round tropical garden inside. I plan to use a sand heat battery under the conservatory heated by solar electricity or propane. Air piping to heat the air as well as water heat for soil. I need to keep it min. upper 80°s in day and no less than 65° at night. Can go a little lover in air temp if I can keep the ground above 65° at all times. I'm zone 7b NJ. So it should be do able. Love the videos. Just keep us updated on your project. Thanks
You can purchase a jig to bend the top rail of a chain link fence to make a sawtooth greenhouse. If you place the greenhouse on a slight slope the excess water will drain out and the heat will rise to the top end where it can be vented out passively without a fan.
Another thing with the saw tooth greenhouse. When the wind is blowing over them the passing air will draw air from the opening. It should build up speed and create a turbulence wich might pull more air out
Great video! Thanks! Couple of suggestions and thoughts... Get yourself a quality microphone and some sound deadening panels. Your audio in all your videos (that I've watched) sounds amateur and echoey--like you're in a small hard-walled room. You're overlay should be smaller--focus on the content. Or, switch between content video and images, then come full-frame back to you for explanation. Also, some video editing with simple text, graphics, etc would help. I think you could push your subscribers >100k if you upped the production just a little. Finally... I fear swamp coolers for my greenhouse because the increase in humidity will increase likelihood of fungal diseases like powdery mildew (which I'm already fighting), won't it? You should mention the cons to swamp coolers. Keep up the good work. Hope to see you hit 100k!!
I own 3 200sq.m. sawtooth passive venting design greenhouses and from my experience I would like to add that it is much safer to have the option to open-close the roof vent. The passive vent design's flaw is that it will always allow air to rush into the greenhouses and we will need to be careful about the greenhouses' direction to the wind and consider its ability to tolerate the storm.
Tell me about your greenhouse venting!

I like it
Should I put an insect net on the roof vent?
Do you want bugs? Some are beneficial as pollinators
Thanks for info
You’re welcome
