- What the National Weather Service described as a “large and extremely dangerous tornado” touched down the Gaylorad area Friday, causing damage to businesses and leading to at least some injuries. (May 20, 2022)
Oh. Gaylord, MICHIGAN. Might be smart to put the state in the title.
I also was struggling in the beginning of this video trying to figure out where Gaylord is - I thought at first maybe Gaylord Tx. but the Gaylord is a hotel in Tx! :-)

Gaylord is a Norman last name. It's been a last name for centuries.
What's wrong with the name? I had a great uncle with that name. Very brave man in the Navy during WWII. He was so beloved in the family that three other relatives were named after him.

I live like 1 hour away. Only been there a few times. It’s pretty nice… was pretty nice. It’s honestly so sad though I just read about it in an article and so far one person has died which may not seem like much but it’s making me tear up.
Alpena is approximately 1 1/2 hours ( 90 minutes) from Gaylord not 45 minutes!

I would bet the injuries occurred in the tornado, not after the NWS reported it. Poor grammar. So if the NWS never reported it, there would have been no injuries. LOL
Deaths can occur after a tornado if someone touches a downed, live powerline. But you're right about the injureies, though some could have happened when people were trying to climb out of debris. At least woodtv didn't do like fox 17 and report blocked toads...lolz.

They died from being crushed by debris, or being tossed through the air and hitting a wall or tree at over 100 mph. They were splattered like bugs on a windshield.
