Massive props to Southend Juggling Club for letting me film during sessions, you guys are the best!
Here's a little backstory, as a kid I used to practise karate in the same hall I shot this film in. For six years I worked my way up the belts until I reached brown-black, the penultimate belt. My final black belt grading was tough, but it went well enough except for a single move in a 76 step long kata. As a result I failed my grading and stopped attending classes shortly afterwards (although I always tell people I got to black belt).
Coming back to this hall eight years later as both an adult & an established practitioner of my own discipline is immensely satisfying, needless to say this video has taken on a fair bit of meaning to me, it represents what I am about as a person; my dedication to practise & physicality, my love for composition & movement... I hope you enjoy it!
All the video's I make are shot with pretty basic equipment, so please don't expect high production values!
Holy shit Piers. Very proud to be your bro. P
Loved it, this has resparked a love for poi for me. been nearly 12 months since I properly played with them, thank you for this!
This video is pristine. WOW
So dope, easily one of my favorites this year. Siiick
one of the best poi videos, congrats!
one of the best video i've seen, just awesome !
Fantastic work, fantastic flow!
Very nice, really liked the editing, filming, lighting. That reverse cascadeish pattern around 1:26 looks great !
Thanks man! btw your 30 days of poi video was pretty much the inspiration for this haha, think I even use one of your sequences at one point..
Awesome, use any of them ! I don't own them :p I really need to work on my poi juggling after watching this though
Nicely done. Great job mang!
When the juggling really takes space in the soul...
That was beautiful!
Excellent!
great video. I like it when I come across poi videos with good filming and creative use of lighting...too much unedited tripod films with spinners in their livingrooms these days...I like the fact that you didn't hide your lightstands. Some overlay effects felt a little bit too over the top for me, otherwise great execution - and nice flow :)
Damn good
Are you coming to the British Juggling Convention this year?
Very nice! What is the music?
