Russell Allen is cool AF. Symphony X is metal royalty and they deserve more love out there. And then Pantera Tribute….love the way the sound engineers have treated Charlie’s drums to sound huge.
I will treasure my photo with the Symphony X guys as they reside in the cloud beside me forever. If there is one thing this video proves though, it is that metal never leaves those who embrace it, and no matter how old you get as a rocker you are still going to be owning life.
I bet Zakk learning Dimes riffs and leads is gonna have a big influence on his playing going forward. Zakks next album might have some Dime type riffs sprinkled in the mix.
Michael Romeo!.... what a savage guitar player. I went to go see them with my brother in Dallas about 10 years ago. That was a good memory. Even caught a souvenir pick.
Sweden Rock! Can't believe alter bridge is still up and kicking. Pantera 'tribute' starting off with New Level, appropriate. The sea of horns up. Sick. Thanks for taking us along. 🤘🤘
Wow, Ola thank you for sharing that footage, it felt very real. It's never easy easy to capture the "vibe" of a festival other than being there in the flesh, but as a viewer you completely nailed it!
I saw them at Hellfest last Sunday. I have to admit I was only really watching them just because I was already there. But man they blew my mind how monstrously heavy they sounded! And I was there the whole festival but still remember their set the most. There's just no way to explain that earth shaking heaviness without being there! Camera footage just doesn't do it justice. So I'd recommend anyone on the "it's not real Pantera" side of the fence to go check this show out anyway. You really won't have a bad time!
First concert I ever went to was seeing Symphony X back on The Odyssey tour when I was like 11 years old. They were some of the nicest guys and gave me a free copy of the album and all signed it for me when they found out it was my first show. Still listen to them all the time
Usually I don't like VLOG but... This one you made for Sweden Rock is great. I've seen Pantera in Lyon in 2000, been to 3 Hellfest. But this year I stay at home because I had better plans last week-end with my wife and our kid. It's great to share your thought on Pantera because it's the same for thousands of metal heads. YT and your channel is a great tool for that. For me, it's like being in 2 places at the same time. Being where I was in France, and seing Sweden through your eyes. Thanks for your passion of music.
I have no words... I saw panthers in Sofia last month. I waited 33 years to see them and that's it. I'm sorry that there is no more Dimebag and Big Winnie with them, but fuck that's life. I hope that this legacy band continues with its work and some new tour despite the haters and those who criticize them.. I would honestly like it.
I knew I saw Pantera at some point but could remember when or where until I found an old ticket stub of a Megadeth concert I went to back in the early 90's in Dublin. Pantera were support. I remember walking into the venue and seeing this crazy guy with his beard painted red playing this crazy solo on his guitar and thinking, who the fuck are these guys.
My brother and I went to see Pantera last year in São Paulo, Brazil. It was actually KnotFest, so Pantera was going to play in the middle, then Judas Priest, then SlipKnot, obviously. But I was there for Pantera. We spent 2 hours in line to get into the venue, I was already exhausted hahaha. We managed to get in and the Trivium show, a band I like a lot, had already finished and Sepultura was playing Territory with Phil Anselmo on stage. I couldn't wait to see him singing Pantera's songs with Zakk Wylde (my favorite guitarist) and to get a taste of what it was like to see this iconic band live (I didn't get that chance in 90's). And it was amazing, the feeling of hearing Cowboys From Hell was surreal, but, by the end of the show I couldn't take it anymore. I left halfway through Judas because I was so tired. I didn't even wait to see Slipknot. hahahahaha
I got to play wiffleball with Symphony X and Blackguard out back of the old Masquerade in ATL, many years ago. One of the coolest moments of my life that I will never forget. 👌🤘
THANK YOU OLA for sharing your "Pantera" experience with us! I was lucky enough to see Damage Plan and meet Dime just before his last show. So sad. Glad to see Zakk and the boys keeping his legacy alive and welll for the youth! GETCHA PULL EVERYONE!!! 🤘🤘
i got pantera tickets for frankfurt in 2001. then 9/11 happened and they cancelled the tour. i never saw them. the rest is history. now i have tickets for hamburg in 3 days and i am fncking excited for this to happen. i did not expect to ever see them in my life. they are my alltime favorite band. i hoped to hear what you have to say about the performance. now im even more excited. haha. bye
I watched them in Prague a week ago. It was simply amazing, the best version of Pantera we can hope for with the brothers gone (RIP). Edel Optics Arena being an even smaller venue should make the sound even more impactful, it should hit like a (primal) concrete sledge. Enjoy the show!
The same happened to me in 2001 with their Gig in Hamburg (Tattoo the earth tour). And i saw them last week in Berlin. What a Trip. They kicked ass... enjoy the show
I first saw pantera also in 2001 at ozzfest. And lucky to see damage plan in the September befor tragedy took place in December. Rip vinnie , rip dimebag
I saw Pantera in Berlin on Thusday. It was so fucking awesome. I survived the moshpit with my 48 vears old bones. thank you to the respectfull crowd in Berlin.
I was there at Pantera show, it was the first time in the whole festival that i felt uncomfortable, i was standing like 20 meters from the stage and people were coming and pushing to get closer to the stage, all this ritual continued like half hour into the show, only then i felt that nobody's pushing me and i started to enjoy the show, the best track was Planet Caravan, it was a good show but not a great show, the band gave what they could, but i have no complaints, i wanted to see them live at least once and i did it, that's the only thing that matter, later i saw Ghost in a mediocre live show, the fest was over with a fireworks, i survived my third visit at Sweden Rock Festival, God bless!!!
I saw Pantera in the GMM a few days ago and wow it was subreal, I had a good feelling when and saw them and I felt like Vinnie and Dime in at some way were there with our spirits!
You should have been in Finland. Pantera was headlining the first night and the athmosphere was out of this world. Crowd was wild and shouting PANTERA every time when song ended.
Gonna be killer seeing Pantera this friday at Tons of rock, seeing as i was 11 when Dime died and this is closest i`ll get, it will be fantastic i`m sure
I made the drive to Download Festival last week, and although it’s not quite as long as your journey (2.5-3hrs each way) I did it twice: Thursday and again on Saturday, both days Metallica headlined 🤘🏻 Mammoth and Alter Bridge were both at Download, but man I wish Pantera (tribute) had been there too - I only saw them once, back in 1994 also at Donington, and it looks awesome!
I bet a lot of people burnt their skin that day. Not a lot of shade available. What was the tent with all the gear? Just some shop displaying stuff? The singer of Spiritbox sounded quite sincere with her statement. Cool.
Russell Allen is cool AF. Symphony X is metal royalty and they deserve more love out there. And then Pantera Tribute….love the way the sound engineers have treated Charlie’s drums to sound huge.

Everyone raves about SX in my part of the world(Southern California) and also whenever I visit Mexico. They’re huge there as well.
@@alexcorona rightfully so. Cheers man, appreciate it.
This Pantera line up is the best we can get. Appreciate every moment. Phil voice is the best right now. Last time he sound that good was 20 years ago.
Right on. I think he actually sounds much better than the reinventing tour, he was totally shot and straining.
No it’s not
Vulgar display of cover does better then the pantera tribute band
@@redrocket9861 Of course. Most cover bands try to replicate the greatest time period of the band. That's the whole point.
@@redrocket9861no they don’t put your crack pipe down
You gotta love Zakk Wylde... that guy is such a rock star.
That bit when they play the video with Vinnie and Dime hits me hard every time man it sucks they aren't around anymore.
Coffee with Ola featuring Michael Romeo when?
THAT would be AMAZING.
Phil has been sounding great from all the clips I have seen, really cool to see this lineup sounding so tight.
it is absurd how good they sound, having now seen them live over in Amsterdam
There's nothing more Swedish than a Ola Englund driving a Volvo to Sweden Rock...
My favorite part was seeing Zakk playing with his action figures again. Love that guy
Phil owned the crowd…as usual 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I bet Zakk learning Dimes riffs and leads is gonna have a big influence on his playing going forward. Zakks next album might have some Dime type riffs sprinkled in the mix.
SPIRITBOX
Symphony X is one of my bands in regular rotation, along with with Therion and Opeth.
Michael Romeo!.... what a savage guitar player. I went to go see them with my brother in Dallas about 10 years ago. That was a good memory. Even caught a souvenir pick.
Pantera is my favorite band at teenage..now I am 43 years old..still rocking, I missed Dimebag...
Sweden Rock! Can't believe alter bridge is still up and kicking. Pantera 'tribute' starting off with New Level, appropriate. The sea of horns up. Sick. Thanks for taking us along. 🤘🤘
I was there, i can even see my head in the video, it was a truly awesome show 🤘
Zakk making the tracks his own for sure.
Hell yeah! You got to see SYMPHONY X !!! Those dudes are wizards!
Wow, Ola thank you for sharing that footage, it felt very real. It's never easy easy to capture the "vibe" of a festival other than being there in the flesh, but as a viewer you completely nailed it!
The best thing about the Pantera tribute is Rex's tone and how loud it is in the mix. Phil sounds surprisingly good, though.

Wow lucky!
that's awesome, what a show to be your first show!!
Yes! I'm so jealous. Spiritbox is really good. Rip Vinnie and Dime (my favorite guitarist)
Fucking Awesome Pantera gig!!! What an amazing atmosphere too!!
Would love to go to Sweden rock!!
I got the chilles when pantera came out wow
Thanks Ola and Louise for taking us with you! Glad midsommaren på er! Greetings from northern Finland!

I like what the singer of Symphony X was saying about not being a right or left guy and saying that music unites.
I'll be seeing them my first time too. Symphony X is awesome
Sweden Rock rules! Awesome festival

Thanks for putting the band name on the screen for us at 8:53. I wouldn't have ever figured out who they were if you hadn't done.
hahahahahaha HEY... fukov

Så bra filmat. Så avis att du fick se Pantera. Så länge man har lyssnat på dom men aldrig sett dom.
Spiritbox needed more video time, such an awesome band!
Sweden Rock! seems awesome! thank you very much for posting it!
Love Alter Bridge. Spiritbox is excellent as well. Seems like an excellent festival lineup

Dude, those camera shots are PRO!! 📷 ✨️
Beautiful…thanks for sharing this! 🖤
WHAT??? PHIL SOUNDS GOOD NOW??? Awesome
Never expected so much goodness from Phil's performances, sincerely! Nice surprise!
Goddamn, Pantera sound 10x better than anyone else on this video. Jesus Christ they are crushing it! \m/
I'm glad you added the Spiritbox text, I wouldn't have known who it was otherwise.

I am glad i got to see them a few times.. I will deff go see this incarnation ..it als brings back some fond fun ass memories as a teen/early 20s

Gonna be killer seeing Pantera this friday at Tons of rock, seeing as i was 11 when Dime died and this is closest i`ll get, it will be fantastic i`m sure
Is Pantera tuned much lower than the records?
One of the greatest injustices in the Metal universe is that a band as monster as Symphony X does not have an official DVD.
Awesome footage Brother cantwait to see Pantera in Detroit with Mammoth and Metallica this November 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘😎😎😎😎😎
Glad you put the names of the bands onscreen, how else would we have known! \m/
What Volvo are you driving.?
I made the drive to Download Festival last week, and although it’s not quite as long as your journey (2.5-3hrs each way) I did it twice: Thursday and again on Saturday, both days Metallica headlined 🤘🏻 Mammoth and Alter Bridge were both at Download, but man I wish Pantera (tribute) had been there too - I only saw them once, back in 1994 also at Donington, and it looks awesome!
Its cool that ola could probably have been backstage taking it all in but went into the crowd to take it all in
I’m going to see Pantera and Metallica in August! I can’t fuckin wait!!!
I've seen Pantera when I was 14 years old it was my first metal show
The tour was Cowboys from hell
I bet a lot of people burnt their skin that day. Not a lot of shade available.
What was the tent with all the gear? Just some shop displaying stuff?
The singer of Spiritbox sounded quite sincere with her statement. Cool.
phil sounds pretty damn good. the band sounds good \m/ so badass!
