hahah those torque wrench clicks where on point 😝
loved the blooper reel 🙃 😜
Great for those new to the game and for owners of the 390.Thks.
Love it Nat there’s a screen to catch all the shit. Hahaha so Australian keep it up
Nat has no chill being polite, love it! xD
Oil the filter inner grommet and filter cover o-ring before reassembling and things will go together more easily and without the risk of the o ring gripping against the filter pot wall and rolling out of position, creating a leak. O-rings on screens should be oiled too. Good job guys. Love the channel.
Yeah it does mention lubing the o-rings in the manual, I figured there should be enough oil on them after Nat dropped them into the pan 😅 Haha cheers Tony
Bloody Ripper Guys! Glad I've got a DR650 for Oil changes 🤣 Love the torque wrench 😉 Cheers... Mark
Mate KTM do a LOT of things really well on their bikes but the convoluted oil change procedure on most of them leaves a lot to be desired! The Japanese bikes win this category hands down 🙌
@@MVDBR Yeah every bike has it's cons & pros! :-)
Thanks a lot for the video guys! Was the most straight foward explanation on youtube!
Greetings. Really happy to see your clearly explained oil change video for ktm 390 adv. I just fancied and got one of that cool guy a couple of days ago but really dont have much about its mechanical and technical care in my pocket. I will look forward to see more videos like this from you. For example; introducing its critical parts, chain care, tyre pressure control, even the right gear change etc. will be nice for me and riders like me.
Brilliant thanks Nat. Just got my bike today, so will be doing this soon.
Nat and Josh Hello from Adelaide; Thanks for the instruction on oil change, Nat brilliant! Lots of fun in the Bat Cave...tools....Beers, gloves, socket set and oil tray plus new oil and filter...LOL...... David SA Tiger 900GT....
It's just not cricket without beers Dave cheers mate 🤙
Nice one Nat! Good to see as I just bought a 390 Adventure! Loving it! Been on some fantastic off road adventures already, got one last himalayan vid to process then onto the 390 stuff! 😃
Great, clear video. Thx!
you two are always great to watch ,love it , :-)
Good video guys, aprieciate it!
Thank you guys !!!
Good stuff guys. A little aluminium foil around the exhaust pipe can make clean up a bit easier.
Ahhhh 🤔 cheers Steve
Great Video guys, Very entertaining, Loved the Bloopers ending. Fkn Mint.
Cheers FPP 🤙
Top job as usual guys.
✌
Great video, now I know how to clean those 2 little screen filters, everything else well explained with a bit of humor. Thank you and cheers from Cancun, Mexico. And of course I'll be doing the same, service + beer
Only way to roll 🍻 Thanks for the comment!
You two rock. Thanks for your energy and humour as you teach us couch dwellers how to care for our bikes…and our relationships. Cheers Scott
Don't put too much stock in the relationship advice, we split up a year ago 😅 Thanks for the comment tho Scott 🍻
Thanks for sharing the information. Keep up the spirit !..
🍻🤙
Nats word of the week ... arse-henry 🤣🤣🤣 great job guys as always 👍🏻
Haha glad someone noticed that 😁
That was fun. Thank you.
I thought we were supposed to wear flip flops when working on our bikes?? I see now barefoot is the way to go! Lol great video. The bloopers were priceless! Thanks for sharing
Things really are degenerating quickly aren't they 🤦♂️😁 Cheers
You guys are awesome 😀
thanks guys nice vid ...ill get on it
Good fun. I hadn't seen filters like that behind the drain plugs before so that was interesting.
Must be a KTM thing, our EXCs are exactly the same 😖 Cheers
Party advice goes a long way ..love it
Good job and Penrite oil👍, I use the same in our vehicles and bikes, cheers🍻
Very thankful for your guidance film 🎥
🙌
Love your bloopers 🤣
Bloopers hilarious 😂
Ah the bloopers so funny 😂
U guys r incredibly funny my kind of oil change
All too easy guys, if that’s Nat after only the neck, lookout after the bottles empty 🤣 great bloopers 🤣😃🤘🏼
Yeah things go south pretty quickly from there mate hahaha 😅
Thanks ! when are you guys installing the coober ecu pack ? Thinking about doing it on mine. Would love to get your impressions.
As far as I know they were going to send us one but haven't heard from them in a while so not sure what the go is 🤷♂️
Boosterplug.com plenty of install videos and reveiws on YT !
Plug and play !!
Good stuff, the voice in my ear has said Nat be careful using solvents around your stone's it may weaken the set glue, i don't know Josh i think she is talking about rings :) cheers.
Did you have a few castlemaine 4 Xs before hand... Funny to watch!
Wrote this before I even saw the bloopers 😂 😆
Gotta have shed beers 😎🍻
Nat is hilarious 😂
mid week visit eh!
bless up friends and enemies from the Chilcotin where the heat is on!
a smoking 30 C yesterday afternoon,
high and dry is the heat on the plateau don't ya know!
hot enough to sweat the balls off of a brass monkey but I digress as we have no brass monkey on the Farm eh,
looking forward to the bloopers everyone's mentioning so on with the show!
thanks for your time and presentation eh, it is apprecated,
B^)
I'm dreaming of 30 degree days again already, flat out cracking 20 here at the moment that's too cold for us hot blooded reptiles 🐍
So hilarious love Nat’s perfection to detail. Wondering when she could do my BMW😊
Bring her round lol
@@390advmotochick7 and my 1250 GS lol just make sure you catch all that shit in the screen :-)
I’m a noob, the 390 adv is my first bike and this was exactly what I needed. Thanks for including the torque values, you guys are awesome!
Question - how does self service affect warranty claims?
Thanks, not sure about warranty, would probably be best to ask your dealer 👍 (if you can trust em to tell you the truth - we're lucky we ride with our parts guy on occasion 😁)
Great vid guys, totally irrelevant to me as I only work on my bike after it's broken hahaha ;)
So what you're saying is that you don't work on your bike for preventative breakage lol
😅
@@390advmotochick7 Essentially yeah... (jks) I try to do the necessary stuff, but there's always more I know I should do!!
very clear and informative. Do the same with the T7 :D
Very quick video with the Yamaha haha way easier 😎
Does Australia Motor Oil have API Ratings? good how-to video!
Sure does 👍
Good job Nat,with coach Josh, hey my 990 is almost due ,you game lol.
No coaching just reading out the torque specs for the fake torque wrench haha 😎
Absolutely bring it on.
He was my camera man 🎥
Haha Haha. Bloopers. 👌 fkn gold😂
Does the beer intake play havoc with the torque wrench settings? Great stuff guys, very informative and fun too! The little Kato will be on the back wheel all the time now with fresh oil in its innards! Cheers...
Nah mate the torque wrench RUNS on beer haha. Cheers 🤙
Great video! Thanks. Just a comment, how many kilometers/miles on that oil? It looked very dark.
Would have been only 5,000km
From the Philippines
great video
One question, what exhaust do you have mounted?
Hi it's a custom made mid pipe and a cheap eBay muffler like this one ebay.us/YkV88M
Thanks for the detailed and easy to follow tutorial. One question, should I remove my shoes and socks first? :)
Well I would, but I probably wouldn't have any on to start with 😁
In another video that I can't find you mentioned the chain was absolutely shite! It's been said by others too,but do you think that it would be half decent if it was used only in the road? I'm picking mine up tomorrow just wondering do I get a good chain right off the bat? Even though I'm only going to be road riding? Cheers
I guess it would last longer off the dirt but it's still rubbish and won't last as long as a quality chain.
Do you face any drop in oil levels. Does the engine burn oil? by any chance did you measure the drained quantity.
I don't think it ever burned any noticeable amount of oil, but nah never measured how much came out sorry 😬
Funny vid folks !
Hey there! 👋
Wondering where you found that awesome radiator guard for the KTM? Thanks in advance.
Pretty sure it was a Power Part from KTM
It's the KTM Power Parts guard. I just installed mine last night! AFTER painting it black though... that guard would have been the ONLY thing silver on the bike ;)
Thank you!
@@HernandezJr_Henry if in the USA I recommend KTM Parts Pro for these parts. They are great.
@Kyle Bradshaw Yes, I'm in the USA & just picked up a used KTM w/7k mil for 2,000 used. Trying prepare it for off-road trail riding
My bike is different, to get the small drainer out you have to loosen exhausts two nuts and move exhaust to the left when looking from behind the bike. The small drainer is just underneath the exhaust. Torques of the two exhausts nuts are 8 nm. Believe or not! That is why I can not drain all the oil when engine is hot!
Damn that's a bit annoying... maybe we moved the head pipe a bit when we got the custom exhaust made up ✌
Where do I get a small torque wrench like this??
It's just a regular ratchet, we fake the torque wrench sounds 😬
How is the AXP holding up after all this time? I really wanted one for the T7 but I think awhile back I saw it flex quite a bit when she rolled over a log so taking the weight of the T7 + mounted gear and rider (70kg) then really makes me wonder if it's up to the task.
Also I decided to go almost all the way back to the beginning and watch all the videos going forward lol I think I found your channel on the test ride of the T7 maybe 3yrs ago, while I was still hung up on how awesome the Africa Twin was, or still is... It was during COVID lockdown at least lol It was really your videos which steered me heavily towards the T7, and I've been enjoying the development along the way, how you ride the T7 and all the locations you've been to. It's quite a journey so far. Biggest regret is back in the day I missed most of these videos so now finally get the chance to watch everything lol 😁
Thanks man, look out the videos probably get worse the further back you go 😅 As for the bash plate, we ended up getting an aluminium one from B&B for the 390 which was a lot tougher and better mounted. The AXP kept flexing onto the exhaust and melting 😬
Nat, Where does your parts guy operate? Looking to replace the bash plate and maybe add simple lower crash bars. Dee
Nat doesn't work here anymore but the bashplate is from bboffroad.com.au and the crash bars are from srcadventuremoto.com.au if that's of any assistance.
@@MVDBR Thanks heaps for that
The first step for any service: open a beer!
The #1 unwritten rule of the shed 🍻
Lolz the real life bloopers are always the Best !
Question if the 2 smaller screens are ok it's just clean and reinstall right ?
Yeah, as long as they're not damaged why not 👍
@@MVDBR Thanks
I don’t have any torque wrenches would it be bad to do it without them?
Nah we pretty much just make the torque wrench sounds ourselves lol, don't even own one. Just don't overtighten anything in aluminium 🤘
@@MVDBR 😂 oh that what I thought you were doing just was not sure
@@JetPlays1 😁
@@MVDBR do you by chance know what screws are used for the skid plate I few cam loose and fell off
@@JetPlays1 sorry no I don't have access to a 390 anymore
Will there be a video about the little KTM?
Not sure what you mean specifically but there probably is already
All very detailed and well explained 😀
The fake shots were recorded after the work was done, weren't they? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Never 😜
Can we use 15w50 for this machine
Pretty sure 15W50 is what the manual says, so yeah 😁
As MVDBR Enduro stated 15W-50 synthetic.
@@MVDBR but in India in showrooms they are using 10w50 fully synthetic
Seems a bit excessive to have two oil drains and drain filters with oil filler I guess there engines brake apart lol
It's a weird KTM thing, the EXCs have the same setup. Real pain in the ass compared to other bikes
To be fair, most companies have some issues with their bikes. Just research “insert bike model here” - issues into Google, and you’ll find something, lol
Magnet helps to pull the oil filter
👍
Dropping stuff in the oil haha something i would do...
yeah or the fibreglass resin iirc 😅
@@MVDBR haha you know it
Never a rag from the floor back into the filterhousing…
Best to spray the cleaner inside the screen filters, otherwise your forcing particles into the screen…
Very good
I changed my oil filter and my oil filter was fake unfortunately my motorcycle Duke 250 take very bad damage .
Here we haven't genius parts we are in sanctions.😭😭😭
Beers make spanners better! :D
They compliment each other so well 😎🍻
The heavy arsonary! Ok ,just leave the artillery at home.

@@MVDBR ?
It’s a piece of piss. A bit of time, but it’s not technically complex.
