Usually when the tackle moves away and a gaurd pulls I like to take my inside shoulder and hit the gaurd early while still staying only about a yard deep into the line of scrimmage. You might not make the play but it will make the runner bounce away from you and allows someone else to make the play. Using your outside shoulder will help you get inside tackles but sometimes you can get blown outside if you get chest to chest with the gaurd if you aren't quick enough.
Using the outside shoulder to take on pulling guards is called “wrong arm” technique. That’s the proper way to close the gap and/or force a bounce around the end.
Every single defensive end should take notes from this coach because he us offered great tips and examples with details thank you so much coach you really help me out a lot
Daddy Cholo I’m a D-End myself, but D-Tackles are still a great and criminally underrated position. I played D-Tackle for a few years in the beginning of my football career. They deserve a lot more appreciation. I got your back, man!
My team ran a 5-4-2 lil league division and I was NT or sometimes DT and they all called me El Toro which means The Bull because I could body any lineman that lined up in front of me. I’m 5’6” 125 pounds 11 years old and led the league with 32 sacks. I was lifting 200+ pounds kids and dropping them then got the QB.

Well actually I know why they have the D-Ends push them away is because they want to knock them off course. We do the same thing back in my school. Usually the D-End just has to move the Tight or Split tackle and get the person man away (For those of you who doesn’t know what man away means let me tell you. If you’re a D-End and you see the QB and RB lined up next to each other. You get the person who’s inside the other. For example: If the QB is on the right side of the RB, your target is the QB in case he tries to take it outside towards your direction, but if it was a RB on the right side of the QB, your target is the RB in case he tries to do a sweep play or hand off. But it doesn’t matter cause you’ll still get there in time if you watch the ball close enough)
I’m a DE the first read if it’s a pulling guard you squeeze down the line heels depth and don’t turn, I know from experience if you turn you will get pancaked
DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS ADVICE, as a D end you would want to get below the O lineman’s numbers and rip your arm out of the block, you never want to engage head on head contact with an O lineman, if you are wanting to make tackles then you need to get low and rip through the line. The only good advice this video gave is getting to the heal line, if you get out of a lineman’s block you want to get to the heal line and read the ball, from their you make a tackle.
@@VzdPlayzMC if the tackle is pushing you outside, there trying to run between the tackle and guard so u should not try to set the edge and keep going to the side, push him into the hole the RB is tryna go into force him outside and make the play

A defensive lineman isn’t supposed to attack the whole lineman, he is supposed to attack half of a man

what if I want to get to the Quarterback and make a sack on a pass play or bat the ball out the air? Would it be the same or different?
Make your own video if you are such an expert.
On the first play you would do a wrong arm to the pulling guard
Watch this video before my first game got 3 sacks and 6 tackles
DE should always have their eyes looking for the ball carrier. All the inside hand and footwork should be automatic
