I’m SO beyond grateful for this right now! After watching just one of your videos, you have no idea how much my vocal tracks improved. Thank you so much for taking the time to create such in depth, yet simple tutorials. I was just about ready to quit this project, but it’s been totally transformed after following these steps 😭👏
Automate volume using gain automation is key change for me, I didn't know how to do it better. Copy and paste settings to make channels this was helpful as well. Good video, thank you
1:24 for anyone new to this, just get yourself a dynamic microphone, sm7b preferably or sm58 if you're on budget because then you won't have to worry about "acoustically treated" room and you'll get a smother and more flexible sound that you can make it more brighter in mixing stages
Although dynamic microphones can help with the room acoustics, you'll get better and more professional clear vocal results by using a condenser mic with room treatment
Thanks for this very useful tutorial. I like my vocals to be punchy & have some depth. So I tend to raise the lows rather than reduce like you do. Is that a wrong approach?
Very good video, very helpful for me although I knew quite sth. about this content. Let me correct you in one saying: Not I'm the Maestro, you are the Maestro. Now, your mixing offered a very good result, but I don't have those FabFilter plugins that you use, and I won't buy them as I've got tons of plugins which were very expensive altogether. I have to stop buying plugin after plugin. Strictly speaking the stock plugins of LOGIC would fill my need to 95%. Thank you for this for me very, very useful video. And to answer your question: I like almost everything of this video except maybe those inserted graphics and videos ... But the rest: very OK.
Pitch correction "essential"? Tens of thousands of singers, including the greatest idols from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, didn't use it at all, what makes it essential "unless you're Adelle" level?
Haha. No it's completely "essential", even though I did say that! It depends on your genre, style, and the skill level of the singer! Totally fine to leave it off. I just find myself putting it on way more often than not!

You absolutely don't need the FF plugins. Stick with the stock, and you'll be able to do everything I showed you in the video!
Can even submit a "contact" email to you on your site without getting the same error message.
👏👏👏fantastic
Thank you! Cheers!

we are not in the 60s, 70s and 80s grandpa. they were recording for hours to nail the performance. they would use autotune/pitch correction too
I kinda feel like my vocals sound unprofessional without melodyne/autotune, and my pitch isn’t even that bad
He did say it was essential for a modern sounding mix…
