what are some poetry books you’d recommend? I’ve never really read much poetry before, but his video really interested me and what you said was fascinating! I’d love to read some ‘good’ poetry

oooo i am so so glad to hear that! modern poetry i'd deffo recommend 'zonal' by don paterson, 'high windows' by phillip larkin, 'her book: poems 1988-98' by jo shapcott, and 'girl, woman, other' by bernardine evaristo. and for some victorian (if you're interested) 'goblin market' by christina rossetti, 'dramas in minature' by mathilde blind, and perhaps some of dante gabriel rossetti's work (or robert browning's selected poems like the duchess). let me know if you do get round to reading any! x

can't wait to watch this lmao
edit: loved this video. especially the way you articulate your thoughts. i’ve never read any of the poems (until this video, i guess) but i enjoyed your links between other works of literature and especially, the comparison to Hemingway’s baby shoes story. a powerful piece.
