Watching again . . . can't get enough of this solo. Mercutio is the very embodiment of a perky, sassy, giddy teenager putting on a show for the people of Verona. Sarafanov is stunning in this, a perfect portrayal . . . absolutely superb. Bravo!
LoveloveLOVE Mercutio! A perfect illustration of how to be a great comedian without saying a word! Fantastic dancing to a score I really love! Bravo! Bravissimo!
Aunque aquì no me gusta mucho considero a Sarafanov uno de los mejores bailarines. Està entre mis 5 favoritos : Carlos Acosta, Kimin Kim , Shklyarov y Denis Matvienko
Charming characterization, amazing body with the strength to hold those extensions rather than flinging his legs about. Is any more of this perf available? Assumed MacMillan and Royal, as I think that's Alina as Juliet.
@@makhnonatalie2600 Is this the one where the two dads meet and reconcile over their kids' bodies or is that Bolshoi? I would have sworn I saw Alina Cojacaru as Juliet onscreen very briefly at the beginning. My personal favorite, and I'm afraid it's going to get lost, was Michael Smuin's for San Francisco Ballet. He tightened the score down a little bit, and he really packed the action so it feels it takes place in the 4 days of the play. There are moments from the balcony pdd that just leave you with your jaw dropping. Thanks for the ID, I will go look it up!
Please, please is there any more of this perf posted anywhere? I swear that's Cojacaru as Juliet being pulled offstage right at the beginning, so I'm guessing State Occasion cast and chance this made it to DVD? I'd settle for any more of it, no matter the source!

minissa2009 no this is definitely not the Royal Ballet and MacMillan version. Probably Mariinsky as this is Leonid Sarafanov as Mercutio
minissa2009 and yes it does look like Alina Cojocaru as Juliet. She and Johan Kobborg performed as guests in Mariinsky Romeo & Juliet
It is Mariinsky theater, Lavrovsky's choreography of 1940. It is still considered as the best version of Romeo & Julliete.

Is this Ratmansky’s choreography? I’ve only ever seen Grigorovich’s choreography, but this is really fun!
This is Leonid Lavrovsky. Ratmansky is not capable of creating anything of this level.
