i lost my sense of smell as a side effect of a brain injury years ago, and i can say anecdotally that my tongue definitely started adapting to what I've just been calling in my head snake-smelling

It makes sense if snakes can smell with their tongue other animals could have a similar ability. Sight and touch are universal senses, so why not tongue smelling?

so many women wear way too much of it ive noticed. so maybe that was always the issue. The only men I know that wear way to much are hispanic men. I work in a grocery store and I can taste it just walking near the person.. so gross.

I believe that was just a scent that reached the back of your nose after you inhaled it (as you know our noses are connected with our throats) Plus you can taste strong fumes with your tongue especially spicy/strong ones
