Only halfway through the video, so I don't know if you figured it out, but the smelter is going on fire because it's unroofed in the snow, and the snow is treated like rain,so it's not random, just build 2 tiles of roof over it and you'll be good next time.
Yeah, I figured it out after some time. I knew that batteries explode, but I didn't know that smelters explode too. I put it inside at a moment, but I think that I forgot to mention that in the video.
@@NotSoShabby anything that uses power save for a couple of items short out in the snow and rain
Reminds me of when I kept a smelter outside and kept wondering why it exploded constantly when I first played. Almost killed one of my better colonists, too.

I always forget that I have the mod installed. Btw, after 4-5 explosions I realised that the smelter explodes because I let it outside when it's snowing... 🤣

You should have used the mod that allows you to deconstruct clothes! It’s incredibly useful
It didn't cross my mind, i will probably add it if i do something like this again
