The SE is all most people need. It’s a fantastic little phone that does 90% of what current ones do. Most of us waste too much time on our phones anyways. I am using this as my daily even though I own an 11 and 2nd gen SE.
I use iPhone se to limit my use of phone, the phone has limits so I install only 3-4 apps, use them for some time and then keep it away, it is ok for casual use but I love it because it's very handy and lightweight, camera quality is decent, let's me focus on myself than just phone. Keeps me peaceful.
@@azazel0202 according to apple website "For a 2016 model, Series 0 through Series 7 running watchOS 8 or earlier will work." This means if your apple watch 7 software is not upgraded beyond watchos 8 then you shall be able to pair apple watch 7 with iphone se 2016 model.
Still have mine from original release date and it is still fine, battery longevity aside which is to be expected. You can install way more than just a few apps on it and I use mine as a hotspot for my PC, works just fine!
Love comments like this dude. Less cell phone usage is key. Very distracting. Good for you dude. I don’t have socials or play games. This phone works for the light user. Who needs to call, text, some light apps and browsing. GPS, etc.
this is the PERFECT phone for all the basics; phone calls, texting, simple email, notes and driving directions. I don't do social media or browse the internet on a 4 inch display. Once in a while I use a calculator app and Apple Wallet for bar code entry to my gym. The phone is fast enough, very responsive, doesn't get hot, can use it with one hand and in low power mode- I get at least 2 full days on my phone. Of course- my talk time is not that of a teenage girl hence, my battery life. Speaking of battery- I did change it 2 years ago- it's like having a new phone all over again. Again; if you want to 'ween' yourself off social media and just want the basics without having to go the flipphone route- the 2016 iPhone SE is the right phone.
I brought one in 2019 as an antique & just for the fact about how good it is for regular usage. Mine is 64GB & got it in a decent price (used without any noticeable scratches). I would still recommend anyone who are interested in this compact phone for daily usage but you'd need to replace the battery as you won't find one with good BH.
I still own an iPhone SE 128GB version one and it works great. I use it while working because of the headphone jack and the comfortable design. Music playback is awesome on this device so far.🙂
Indeed, my 2016 SE (now 100% on second battery) has been great for my niche uses: light-to-moderate, reading text in Safari Reader Mode, youtube, news websites. Might be too small for most now but the shirt-pocket size (4 ounces, 4" screen) has been great. Planning to replace next year with iPhone 13 Mini - a huge jump in screen size!
Love this video! I will be getting this model! Found a brand new one! Thanks for showing us that the older budget phones work. That 100% battery health is awesome.
I have one that I bought new in 2016 and used for a number of years before upgrading. It’s still mint perfect condition and using it again reminds me of how great it was. Buying any used iPhone on Facebook marketplace it’s a bit risky as you may find it’s had the screen replaced with a third party screen which is never as good. Also replacement battery will say 100% capacity forever if it’s not a genuine battery installed by Apple.
I still use this phone. I’ve had mine for 4 years and I love it lol. Battery is pretty terrible now but lasts about 5 hours so plenty of time to get to a charger usually. I don’t want to upgrade 😂
@@Hiper_with_a_P_sound I understand. I don’t have any social media so rarely take photos so don’t notice much. Lol. If I upgrade I will get a iPhone 12 or 13 mini. Probably the closest thing on the market to a first generation SE
I used an iPhone SE 1st gen since its release in 2016… until oct this year… 7 years… wow… and boy, I miss this phone so much! I got an iPhone 13 mini… but it’s still TOO big!! And because of the new “no home button” I have to bring control center FROM THE TOP!!! What’s the sense!!!? It’s so hard to put your thumb all the way up to bring it, only to move the finger down to get the camera. Seriously… are they kidding?! It was so easy on iPhone SE. SO… my hand hurts, but that’s life. My phone capacity was too smal at 128gb so I got a 512 one. At least I got that.
I still use this phone as my main phone because it's small, comfortably fits in my pocket and the finger print scanner is quick when I want to open my bank apps and move money around. It's crazy, even though I have a 12 mini and a note 9 as well if my SE died I'd probably get a refurbished one on EBay and put a new battery in it.
@@DariuszTech Don't remember that in the early days, it was hit when I first plugged it in, then after 40% was cool. Just weird, because I don't remember that with my first SE that I gave away.
i have this SE, the there’s just three things i don’t love 1 it only updates to a 15.7 OS, so in a few years i might not be able to download some apps 2 it’s camera quality is very pixelated 3 it’s battery lasts about 2 1/2 hours 😬 It’s mostly just the battery that bothers me but I mean it’s from 2016 and has been used a lot
HI Darius, I have a 2106 iPhone SE Rosegold colour and I love it! I am travelling to the UK from Canada to visit my family and want to know if I can still get a temporary sim card in the UK whilst I am there. Thank you:)
This phone is only 113 grams in weight. In 2023 most "phones" weigh at least 190 grams... Its ridiculous, really hope phones start geting smaller and lighter again soon.
bought iphone SE 2016 smashed screen and damaged case for 5$ in USA. bought iphone 5S in very good condition but reported stolen/deactivated IMEI for 5$. took all the parts out of the iphone 5S, melted like 5mm of plastic at the top right corner of case with a soldering iron and everything fit flush. brand new looking iphone SE for 10$, and i think the aluminium for the 5S is better since it was their flagship model for awhile. has slightly less rounded corners vs the SE and doesnt dent as easily in my experience. also looks closer to the iphone14 mini but no ugly camera bump so I dont even bother with a case. disappears in my pocket, can use headphones so the battery lasts a good amount, always turn bluetooth off twice in settings to save power and protect from hackers. some people have asked me what phone it is since it doesnt say SE on the back anymore lol, i tell them its the iphone 15. thinking of adding a thermal camera inside with a magnetic reed switch jumped to the back of the lightning bolt connecer.
I would like to start the adventure with Apple smartphones. SE 1st gen was always my dream (when I was younger). This smartphone is no longer supported by Apple (updates), right? Is this a big problem? Is there a point to still buy it?
It's a great iPhone yes, but the minute you put a SIM card in & try to use it as an everyday iPhone it'll literally over heat & drain the battery within an hour or 2

This is my daily phone too- still wonderful and love love love the size. I still upgrade all my apps and works extremely fine
would this still work for apps like microsoft authenticator ?
or in general for at least the next 2 years ?
Agreed, they're much less distracting, and do what you need them to do
I had it and now I miss it, great phone, no case needed, not heavy, great camera. Thanks for making me remember

Watching this video with my se 2017 , changed battery recently 100%

laying in bed at night while watching youtube on my SE puts no strain on my arm unlike the 14 models. I LOVE MY SE!!!

Nice 👍🙂
Love this video fam and great review of this iPhone beast
I appreciate that

What's your favourite thing about the phone?
It's giving me old Vibes
For sure 😃

When it's hot all of the phones will get hot during the charging.

If you can buy one for around £40-50 than yes. Also what phone does the 14 year old Habe at the moment or is this the first phone?
@@DariuszTech The 14 year old had an iPhone 7 ( screen broke )
The iPhone SE has a smaller display, worse camera, performance so I don't think they would be happy switching
