      @101327 "civilian" as if that's a bad title to have. Without civilians there's absolutely no reason to serve. Also I love my brothers, I would be distraught if any died on me but he's right it's not close to a motherly son type love nothing is. Get your head out of your asses. And if it is close it's not "greater than" like the ignorant commenter posted

    • @Hybred
      @Hybred 5 років тому +6

      @101327 You're the one who sounds unintelligent and ignorant because #1 I loved the people I served with, my best friend who we called bubba died while serving with us and it took me years to get over it I know what brotherhood is like but I also know that unless you had a really bad relationship with your mom or something brotherhood isnt "a greater love than a son and mother" wtf that sounds so corny like a bunch of bullshit because it is.
      Also to say that everyone who hasn't served is selfish and all these negative things is stupid because you know nothing about every person in the world and you are a disgrace to real marines because we give our lives for our loved ones and civilians so to speak poorly of them means you served to just kill or something with no value or respect. You're the shitbag

    Oh wow. Their hats say L.R.R.P. team as in Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol. From what I've read, these guys would get flown in deep into enemy territory and dropped off to gain intel for weeks at a time, only having themselves as support. The type of crew that the regular GI would see and wonder, "How come that guy gets his own 1911, specialized fatigues, and tiger striped boonie hat..." Super cool

      I joined the Army in the 90's started out as a 96R Ground surveillance Systems Operator and eventually found my way into LRSD Long Range Surveillance Detachment which I am assuming is what LRRP evolved into over the years. We were 3 man teams dropped far behind enemy lines to gather intell on the enemy and we referred to as vampires because we typically hid during the day and worked during the night. I earned the right to wear a boonie cap and wore it with pride, though mine was not of the tiger stripe camo pattern of the Viet Nam Era.

      @@EdwardianTea You people don't set the bar very high for the term "hero" The men went to a war...by choice...that they didn't belong in. Vietnam did nothing to Americans or the US. He did nothing for America's safety, security and freedom by being in Vietnam. They were essentially invaders and aggressors in someone else's country and conflict. People who resisted the Vietnam war were more honorable to America than this guy was. The Vietnam war did NOTHING but bring pain, loss, conflict and waste to America for 10 years. These men did their part to enable that war to go that long.

    Sending God's Love 💞 Thanks and love to all veterans and my respect to all veterans. It's very heartbreaking seeing veterans disrespected. My family at this time is going through disrespect for my ex-husband who is a disabled senior citizen Vietnam Veteran. He was in the Marines, Army and Navy. In Vietnam he was stabbed in chest with a bayonet, he was missing in action and a prisoner of war. He doesn't like being around others because of such disrespect and the way he's always been treated. We was illegally put out of our home. We lived over 2 months without water because of busted water pipes from snowstorm. We had new landlords take over in January and they was very rude and disrespectful. He deserves better than this. He lost his home in 2007 from a fire. He then lost his other home when he left state to see his son when I lived away with now our 17 year old son. He had a stroke and he lost his home. We got a divorce in 2007. I've taken care of him all these years regardless our marriage didn't work. I still love him and respect him. We have a son together and we love him. Our son wants his dad to have a home and be at peace and be loved. It's heartbreaking to hear and see our son breakdown and cry over his dad. We are living in a motel in Coldspring Texas. Our room is paid for until Monday and we are out of finances until June 1st. I've been speaking up for veterans and I've almost been arrested by police this month for doing such. God knows our situation and God will provide way. All me and my son want is for his dad to be loved and respected and have a home. State officials are trying to put him away in a home. Absolutely not happening. Enough is enough!!! God don't like ugly. My family always helps homeless and now we're homeless. Our son is praying for a miracle for his dad a home and be comfortable and feel loved. Our vehicle is messing up extremely bad. Please keep my family in your prayers 🙏 Much love 💞 God bless 🙏

      I have a cousin who's 75 now. He joined the Army in 1962 out of high school and volunteered for the Airborne and ended up at Ft. Bragg in the 82nd. He was about to be discharged in 1965 when his 1Sgt announced the Army was looking for volunteers for Vietnam. Him and 3 other guys decided to volunteer and my cousin ended up doing 3 tours with the 173rd Airborne Brigade (2/503) in Vietnam.

    How dare our country treat men like this in too many cases. They give up their time, their lives and their health for this country. And we see them on the street, addicted to drugs and alcohol and not getting the help they deserve.
