I was asked to repair a friend's wallet and had never done any lacing. I watched a few different videos and yours was by far the easiest to follow. Thank you so much for sharing your clear, concise technique!

Thank you so much for helping me learn double loop for my project. The way you explained the hows and the camera angle was wonderful. I hope all is well during these unprecedented times.

Yeah, great video. I haven't done any lacing since 8th grade shop class but I remember it wasn't that hard. Thanks for the refresher course!

interesting way to splice. Back in 8th/9th grade leather shop (50+ years ago) we skived and glued to splice.
This way does look easier, and possibly stronger.
I'd forgotten how to double loop lace. Want to double loop a Celtic/Norse/Viking (non-foling) pocket knife sheath I want to make, and maybe a pocket slip for a small/medium 2 blade slipjoint I have.
    QUESTION:
Would you recommend lacing or saddle stitching hair-on hare hide?
Saddle stitch the pieces hair/fur inside then turn inside out so the hair/fur is outside?
I don't have a machine to sew with. As much leather work that I do, it wouldn't "pay" to get one, plus my budget won't allow getting one anyway.
I'll be "lucky" to get a pony clamp (I think that is what they are called) to hold what I''m working on when stitching or lacing.

Nice video. Is it possible to splice on a single layer? I want to try to make a cuff, but without a lining. Thanks

This is a nice review of double loop lacing, but it frustrates me that I can't find anything anywhere about splicing in a second strand of lace when you're NOT lacing TWO pieces together, rather, when you need to use the lacing only as a decorative edge on only ONE piece of leather. In other words, when you can't end your first lace end in-between the two pieces and begin the second, spliced-in end also between the two pieces. Can you please do a video on how to splice when you don't have two pieces of leather to basically "sandwich" the ends of the lace? I've only been able to try it once, and I somehow managed to run the end of the second piece of lacing inside the last few bights of the end of the first piece, but I'll be dipped if I can remember well enough to explain how I did it, if I can even do it again, LoL! Please, I've got books galore on lacing and braiding that have literally hundreds of different stitches and laces, but not one of them shows how to splice into any of them when you're simply lacing around the edge of a single piece of leather. Thanks in advance!!
