There are some mothers who actually hate/resent their daughters yet play a public role of loving them. None of us know the true dynamics of Naomi and Wynonna’s relationship.
Wynonna has enough wisdom and insight to understand that her mother's words were written by someone who was in a condition that she was capable of taking her own life. Too bad the media who reports this doesn't possess the same wisdom and insight to choose to not do harm to this family. Not surprised though. Bless their hearts. Well, never mind, they have no heart.
I just found out about this note. Naomi accused Wynonna of mental illness??? That itself is screwed up. I knew the family dynamics was dysfunctional, but never thought on this level. I hope the daughters can heal from their mother's narcissism and find peace someday.
To outright state this like you know it to be truth... sad. Winona IS more narcissistic than Naomi ever was. She saw the talent in her daughter amd put up with her hideous behavior during the early years to help her achieve success. It’s my hope the Wynona wil feel what she deserves regarding haranguing her mother for years.
@@Elevatedpoetry Well, I do know a thing or two about narcissism. I've been in therapy for many years having dealt with my own narcissistic mother and sister. My mother and sister ( both ) suffer from low self esteem. Both happened to be narcissists. My jealous mother favored my sister, because my jealous sister knew how to build my mother up and versa. You could call them a tag team - putting one another up on pedestals. And no one would ever guess the mental abuse they caused me. My sister is Satan personified. I believe Naomi could had been jealous of Wynonna's talent and Wynonna jealous of her mother's beauty. Of course, the both of them having a fake persona, just like my mother and sister, they could fool the public that outwardly everything was fine and dandy. You should read up on family narcissism. As frightening as it is, it is important to know how evil these individuals can be. Naomi showed an evil side at death, by leaving an atrocious note calling out Wynonna's mental state and trying to prevent Wynonna of grief ( by excluding her from the funeral ). Very sick dynamics and typical of narcissists. Wynonna should had honored her mother's note ( stayed away) and found another source of grief. Wynonna showing her narcissistic side. By the way, narcissistic mother's will pit siblings against one another, just further proof of Naomi's evil, which may explain Wynonna and Ashley's disconnect for years. The very same disconnect between my sister and myself.

If Wy was rebellious she had a reason to be so don't be blaming Wy. Wy even said Naomi was hard on her. Wy and Naomi even said that the Final Tour healed them because they got to talk things out and Naomi finally told Wy about her (Naomi's) childhood.

Naomi was experiencing severe, unmanageable, untreatable depression and I'm so sad for this family. I hope Winona can survive and find happiness despite the damning letter. Prayers sent.
These martyr narcissists are the worst. Feel bad for the daughters, good grief can't imagine all of the countless visits to counselors just to deal with their mothers emotional abuse.
Was a lot more than the mothers emotional abuse. Read their books and watch their docuseries. Naomi out herself first constantly and put her daughters through horrible things when they were children. Wy is the only some what stable of the three.

My brother left a note addressing each of us in the family. He wasn't in his right mind, but the parts that hurt the most were the true parts, really trivial things but not to him.
Her mother had mental illness. Our government doesn't have money to help people with mental illness. They shut down a lot of hospitals that care for these with mental illnesses. I blame the government for not helping those who are suffering
I think Her suicide was something that was always a great possibility to happen given how long she struggled with mental illness tried every treatment and medicine out there I personally always thought she would overdose but not death by firearm.
you know when I first read Naomi's note - I didn't interpret it the way all you guys say. - I honestly thought she was meaning that Wynnona was fragile and shouldn't attend her funeral as it would be traumatic for her. - I'm going to continue believing that !

Naomi always resented Wynonna over her own failed life. It wasn't Wynonna's fault that Naomi got pregnant the first time she had sex or was much more talented than Naomi. It wasn't Wynonna's fault the record label only wanted Wynonna, not someone who could about hold a note. Naomi was a narcissistic jealous person.
I saw a list of drugs that woman was on. They should sue her doctors! She was psychotic from the drugs. Regardless it’s a pretty heartless thing to say something to one of your children in a last note that you can’t take back and that your child will have to live with !
My therapist didn't approve of me avoiding medication for my depression, but I don't think I'm wrong for wanting to find natural remedies and solutions. The side effects of those meds can be really undesirable. Tired of people acting like meds are the only answer.
So many times that's the problem we all know they're really no cure an personally I take 2 meds a day .however working in the medical field I see it all the time .I've refused some meds because they send me to the moon 🌙. So sad it really is .I think an it's just my opinion the last time I saw here she was very well out of it I guess is how you say it .she was there but she wasn't ? She had a gaze to her eyes. Sad

Naomi Judd was horribly depressed. Depression can bring out the mean in a person because they are hurting so badly. Women don’t usually use a gun to kill themselves, statistically speaking. Naomi must have been in so much pain! I hope Wynona doesn’t allow that post-it note message to wound her deeply. My mom got really mean towards the end of her life as well. I won’t know if she meant all those things until I see her again (if they let me into Heaven). Either way, I still love her and miss her.
I lost my twin sister ( identical ) in 2013. She was 44. In her suicide note she expressed disdain at my other 2 siblings and of course our horrifying parents. But she never mentioned my name and how she was disappointed in me. If she had I don't think I could have lived with myself. 😔
I know from experience that when you (me) are in the throws of deep, debilitating depression that you lash out at people you love & care about. For me, I always end up regretting the things I say. Not everyone can handle being in your life through these dark times & stay with you. It's very easy to alienate family & friends, but in the end you still feel all alone because you are. If any of this note stuff is true, I hope that Wynonna can find peace & forgive her Mom. They had their struggles through the years, but I truly believe that Naomi loved BOTH of her girls so much!😢
Good for Wynonna. I also think Naomi killed herself the night before the induction ceremony so she could ruin it for Wynonna. Another kind of move that a narcissist would make. I say good riddance. When I was watching the Ken Burns documentary on country music, Wynonna was interviewed briefly. She said she was never interested in music, but took it up to try and rid herself of the loneliness she felt when her mother took them off to some cabin in the hills to live. Wynonna implied that once she started to play the guitar and sing to make herself happier there was her mother approaching her from behind, and starting to hum along and harmonize, and Wynonna realized her mother was going to hone in on this as well and not let Wynonna who had the real talent do it without her.

Wynonna loved her so much she toured a farewell concert throughout the US. Her mother was deeply unbalanced and sick and anything in her note probably are about as sound as there will be peace in the Middle East without war.

If the woman was in such a state that she actually put a gun to her own head and pulled the trigger, (which I can only imagine it is not an easy thing to do? Do you think she was in a rational mental state to really scribble quickly a proper suicide note? Wynonna literally knew her mom was in a bad place and have a friend coming over to help and all she did was leave the house long enough to go down to get to my friend something by the time she came back it was done. Doesn’t really sound like she thought out her suicide note. And I said sounds like because I will never know and neither or anybody else. It’s tragic for those left behind and tragic to the person going through it. How many people actually know what it’s like to have someone they love deeply family, member, cherished friend or partner take their own life unexpectedly with or without a history of mental illness? It’s not easy in five years. I miss my little brother every day, and I will never speculate stayed in mind for the things he might’ve said or what exactly he was thinking. That last tour they did was nothing but emotional If you didn’t look at those two women sing love to build a Bridge the last Time and keep your eyes dry after seeing the sadness in their eyes, and the emotion in their voices clearly did not understand the Judds. Mothers and daughters who don’t even suffer from any mental illness often bicker argue and get in ridiculous fights. Probably more intense you’re dealing with other issues on top of it people say things that don’t mean happens every day.
As a person with depression I can say she wasn't in her right mindset. As we know that wasn't the Naomi we know . This disease can do awful things to your mind . prayers sent 🙏

Do you honestly think someone l who is literally putting a gun to their head and pulling the trigger is in a proper logical mental state to write a proper suicide note ? especially one done quickly being that Wynonna was only gone long enough to let somebody in the gate because she knew Naomi was in a really bad place and reached out for assistance to help get her through it, and that very short time, Naomi managed to get a gun and kill her self in the kitchen after apparently scribbling down a quick note. And from somebody suffering, a mental depressive disorder, and probably did not mean what she said. We will never know. But you assumed and made a bold statement like you understand their mother and daughter dynamic and automatically call her a narcissist, because what? you were around these people and actually witnessed all this in person or was it something you heard or decided on your own. And it is sad for the whole family. It’s probably also sad to see people on the Internet, judge and make assumptions about your mother is treasure by saying shit like this on you take the whole situation. It’s true she wrote on the note that Wynonna was Not allowed to attend her funeral. She went anyway. I don’t think I would have had it been my mom’s dying request. They should have honored it regardless if wynonna didn’t like it. It wasn’t her decision. She shouldn’t have went.
Wynona and Naomi have always had a complicated relationship. They’ve both spoken about it, even going for periods without speaking. Ashley hasn’t always gotten along with them either. There was a lot of dysfunctional in Wynona’s childhood. This is often the result, strained relationships. I’m not surprised by this. Naomi wasn’t in her right mind when she wrote that note. I’m glad Wynona realized this and still went to the service.
Naomi was very much in her right mind; the mind of the narcissist that she was. She may have suffered depression, but I believe she was a nasty manipulative person. Notice that we haven’t heard a word from Larry Strickland about whether he will share any of the money with the two daughters. Maybe he was just as bad as Naomi.

Naomi did have a very difficult childhood her family was all about keeping a lid on emotions and feelings cry non affectionate she came from a family with a huge amount of history with mental illness schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder just to name a few her own mother threw her out of the house when she got pregnant with wynonna and yes the spoke openly about the personal relationship struggles between them. I suffer from mental illness as well and it is very difficult, exhausting, and frustrating because you just want it gone and suicide seems like a good option and Naomi was also bipolar so that definitely did not help and bipolar and narcissism are similar but there are certain distinctions that separate the two. She suffered for years and at 76 years old she couldn’t take it anymore. And it’s understandable why Larry did not say anything this was a very difficult situation to deal with and everyone deals with it in their own way.

Think about it: she waited for Ashley to come over, had her go to the door to let in a friend and shot herself in the few minutes Ashley was out of the room, knowing her daughter would find her with half her skull blown away. I don’t think someone in her right mind would do that, to put her daughter through that trauma. I’m sure Ashley will never be able to get that last memory of her mother out of her head.
Regardless if it’s true i don’t believe she really meant it. Speaking from my own battle with mental illness you say things you don’t mean it’s mostly just your mental anguish talking when you feel like everything is crashing down around you different thoughts come to mind and whether they’re true or not they feel very real and very true in that moment especially when you finally snap the way Naomi did.

It took my mom 35 years to have a mental breakdown and finally deal with WHY she felt she had to torture me mentally & physically from 2 yrs old on. She was major passive-aggressive personality. It ALL was her being jealous of me. I grew up in a time where women could think & do for themselves...she did not. It actually was a 'gift' to me; her finally telling me and asking for forgiveness. I still just don't get how a mom does not want the best for her kids. She's long dead now. As for this video...WHAT are YOU getting out of such a petty & mean spirited video??? We all have known about the long lived issues between Naomi and BOTH her girls...thanks to Oprah and a final tour of Wynonna and Naomi with their therapist along to keep the peace. I❤❤love my mother so much. I really do. She's 82 and came from Florida then drove 3 hrs from the airport then stayed in our lousy town for a week celebrating my 62 birthday with me. I cried for an hour when she had to go. It was so sweet of her to come. My sweet daughter came last spring with her new husband. She lives in Brooklyn. I hope you feel great love. There's nothing better!

And, speaking as someone who was in the healthcare field for 17yrs, you absolutely have to have a strong mental fitness to deal with an array of personalities such as the Dr’s, patient’s families, and the patients themselves who all have many different emotions depending on the situation. But, who’s to say, maybe she was a different person then. I hated to hear of her death though, she had such a lovely voice. A tragic loss for certain 😢
Sometimes, however, people can also.posses more empathy and compassion for their pt.s when they themselves have through something. It can go both ways. Also have been a medical professional for about twenty years and have seen it go both ways.

Her mom was abusive towards her I was a fan of theirs and also watched their reality show and her mom took it out on her daughter her daughter dealt with a lot from her mom that family was a mess
It was not the true her who wrote it, but the her that was struggling mentally. I struggle with mental illness myself. You have to know which me you are getting. If I am struggling then do not take it seriously. The real me would never write that or say that.

Wynonna was the TALENT why did Naomi even show up. If Not for Wynonna her mother Naomi would have been working at McDonald's. SORRY, but I think it's disgusting to leave mean note about her own Child that let her tag along giving her millions. Naomi was a true narcissist! Most mothers would encourage their children to soar as high as they dream, not this one though. Naomi’s envy over not being able to succeed with a solo career ruined her. What a shame…

I think Ashley wrote that note because she was angry she’s been left out. I think Ashley shot Naomi being jealous of their upcoming ceremony while WY was on the way over.

Naomi had several mental illnesses diagnosed yrs ago. Clearly not in her right mind when the letter was written. The Judds had very complicated relationships, they loved each other fiercely...
I think if this is true it has a lot to do with how Wynona is Elvis Presley's daughter. She even looks like Lisa Marie and she sure does have the singing pipes of Elvis and his stage presence as well. She just has that Elvis charisma. I think Wynona and her mother and sister may have had conflicts because Naomi never revealed it to Wynona early on and it caused turmoil. Even to this day I dont think Wynona publicly admits being Elvis's daughter. Maybe its an agreement between the Judds and Presley family that their managers have. Naomi was Elvis's nurse and Elvis got her into the music scene because back then if Elvis Presley said he wanted someoen to let you record , there was no studio that would ever say no. If Elvis thought you were a star then you were a star. He was larger than life and still is. Either way there is no doubt about Wynona and her singing ability and stage presence...what a voice she has. Its sad that Naomi went this way, really sad.

@@codybarry8204 Joan Crawford also suffered from mental illness the huge difference between Naomi and Joan is that Joan was in denial did not get any form of help whatsoever and no medication whatsoever not to mention she liked to drink bipolar disorder and Alcohol are a bad combination. Naomi had a lot of childhood trauma she was raised by parents who were very rigid and cold and never really displayed any affection towards her not to mention her first formed memory she had was when she was three and that was when her uncle tried to molest her and a lengthy family history of mental illnesses ran really high in her family. Wynonna her spoke very publicly about their personal relationship struggles with each other and considering Naomi gave up being a nurse and moved to Nashville just to give wynonna a chance at a career not to mention that wynonna didn’t really have the confidence to get up and sing in front of people and her mother made her feel more comfortable and secure I don’t think she was jealous of wynonna.
It’s so sad when we watch someone as blessed as Naomi was and see how much she never really got that many suffer and God blesses us all. To appreciate seemed not within her and yes I know she was having mental issues. I watched a tour her and Wynona were on and at the time I felt so sorrowful for Wy as Naomi was always negative and it was not fun to watch. They were on a tour bus. I feel so sorry to hear of this terrible note running down her daughter Wy as that girl gave her all. I pray she will get through this terrible thing but she needs our prayers for sure. She’s a great singer and deserves credit for doing her best! Prayers for you Wy!
Some suicides are partially acts of revenge. On top of everything Naomi was dealing with, she can certainly be forgiven for irrational behavior. it is just so sad that she suffered so much.
If this was a suicide letter why is it on a Post-It note? And could it be possible she had wrote this when she was angry at her daughter and then someone else used this when they found it? I just found out about this note. Naomi accused Wynonna of mental illness??? That itself is screwed up. I knew the family dynamics was dysfunctional, but never thought on this level. I hope the daughters can heal from their mother's narcissism and find peace someday.

My mother and sister ( both ) suffer from low self esteem. Both happened to be narcissists. My jealous mother favored my sister, because my jealous sister knew how to build my mother up and versa. You could call them a tag team - putting one another up on pedestals. And no one would ever guess the mental abuse they caused me. My sister is Satan personified.

My therapist didn't approve of me avoiding medication for my depression, but I don't think I'm wrong for wanting to find natural remedies and solutions. The side effects of those meds can be really undesirable. Tired of people acting like meds are the only answer.

I lost my twin sister ( identical ) in 2013. She was 44. In her suicide note she expressed disdain at my other 2 siblings and of course our horrifying parents. But she never mentioned my name and how she was disappointed in me. If she had I don't think I could have lived with myself. 😔
I know from experience that when you (me) are in the throws of deep, debilitating depression that you lash out at people you love & care about. For me, I always end up regretting the things I say. Not everyone can handle being in your life through these dark times & stay with you. It's very easy to alienate family & friends, but in the end you still feel all alone because you are.
If any of this note stuff is true, I hope that Wynonna can find peace & forgive her Mom. They had their struggles through the years, but I truly believe that Naomi loved BOTH of her girls so much!😢

When I was watching the Ken Burns documentary on country music, Wynonna was interviewed briefly. She said she was never interested in music, but took it up to try and rid herself of the loneliness she felt when her mother took them off to some cabin in the hills to live. Wynonna implied that once she started to play the guitar and sing to make herself happier there was her mother approaching her from behind, and starting to hum along and harmonize, and Wynonna realized her mother was going to hone in on this as well and not let Wynonna who had the real talent do it without her.

Do you think she was in a rational mental state to really scribble quickly a proper suicide note? Wynonna literally knew her mom was in a bad place and have a friend coming over to help and all she did was leave the house long enough to go down to get to my friend something by the time she came back it was done. It’s tragic for those left behind and tragic to the person going through it. How many people actually know what it’s like to have someone they love deeply family, member, cherished friend or partner take their own life unexpectedly with or without a history of mental illness? It’s not easy in five years. I miss my little brother every day, and I will never speculate stayed in mind for the things he might’ve said or what exactly he was thinking. That last tour they did was nothing but emotional If you didn’t look at those two women sing love to build a Bridge the last Time and keep your eyes dry after seeing the sadness in their eyes, and the emotion in their voices clearly did not understand the Judds. Mothers and daughters who don’t even suffer from any mental illness often bicker argue and get in ridiculous fights. Probably more intense you’re dealing with other issues on top of it people say things that don’t mean happens every day.

And from somebody suffering, a mental depressive disorder, and probably did not mean what she said. We will never know. But you assumed and made a bold statement like you understand their mother and daughter dynamic and automatically call her a narcissist, because what? you were around these people and actually witnessed all this in person or was it something you heard or decided on your own. Wynona and Naomi have always had a complicated relationship. They’ve both spoken about it, even going for periods without speaking. Ashley hasn’t always gotten along with them either. There was a lot of dysfunctional in Wynona’s childhood. This is often the result, strained relationships. I’m not surprised by this. Naomi wasn’t in her right mind when she wrote that note. I’m glad Wynona realized this and still went to the service.
Naomi was very much in her right mind; the mind of the narcissist that she was. She may have suffered depression, but I believe she was a nasty manipulative person. Notice that we haven’t heard a word from Larry Strickland about whether he will share any of the money with the two daughters. Maybe he was just as bad as Naomi.

Naomi did have a very difficult childhood her family was all about keeping a lid on emotions and feelings cry non affectionate she came from a family with a huge amount of history with mental illness schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder just to name a few her own mother threw her out of the house when she got pregnant with wynonna and yes the spoke openly about the personal relationship struggles between them. I suffer from mental illness as well and it is very difficult, exhausting, and frustrating because you just want it gone and suicide seems like a good option and Naomi was also bipolar so that definitely did not help and bipolar and narcissism are similar but there are certain distinctions that separate the two. She suffered for years and at 76 years old she couldn’t take it anymore. And it’s understandable why Larry did not say anything this was a very difficult situation to deal with and everyone deals with it in their own way.

It took my mom 35 years to have a mental breakdown and finally deal with WHY she felt she had to torture me mentally & physically from 2 yrs old on. She was major passive-aggressive personality. It ALL was her being jealous of me. I grew up in a time where women could think & do for themselves...she did not. It actually was a 'gift' to me; her finally telling me and asking for forgiveness. I still just don't get how a mom does not want the best for her kids. She's long dead now.
As for this video...WHAT are YOU getting out of such a petty & mean spirited video??? We all have known about the long lived issues between Naomi and BOTH her girls...thanks to Oprah and a final tour of Wynonna and Naomi with their therapist along to keep the peace. I❤❤love my mother so much. I really do. She's 82 and came from Florida then drove 3 hrs from the airport then stayed in our lousy town for a week celebrating my 62 birthday with me. I cried for an hour when she had to go. It was so sweet of her to come. My sweet daughter came last spring with her new husband. She lives in Brooklyn. I hope you feel great love. It was not the true her who wrote it, but the her that was struggling mentally. I struggle with mental illness myself. You have to know which me you are getting. If I am struggling then do not take it seriously. The real me would never write that or say that.

Wynonna was the TALENT why did Naomi even show up. If Not for Wynonna her mother Naomi would have been working at McDonald's. SORRY, but I think it's disgusting to leave mean note about her own Child that let her tag along giving her millions. She invited Ashley over so she could be in her home when she committed Suicide that is Awful.

I think if this is true it has a lot to do with how Wynona is Elvis Presley's daughter. She even looks like Lisa Marie and she sure does have the singing pipes of Elvis and his stage presence as well. She just has that Elvis charisma. I think Wynona and her mother and sister may have had conflicts because Naomi never revealed it to Wynona early on and it caused turmoil. Even to this day I dont think Wynona publicly admits being Elvis's daughter. Maybe its an agreement between the Judds and Presley family that their managers have.
Naomi was Elvis's nurse and Elvis got her into the music scene because back then if Elvis Presley said he wanted someoen to let you record , there was no studio that would ever say no. If Elvis thought you were a star then you were a star. He was larger than life and still is. Either way there is no doubt about Wynona and her singing ability and stage presence...what a voice she has. Its sad that Naomi went this way, really sad.

@@codybarry8204 yeah my mom and I had a rocky relationship too. Sometimes I felt like I was a mistake and wasn't wanted bc my brother got away with a lot of stuff.
@@codybarry8204 Joan Crawford also suffered from mental illness the huge difference between Naomi and Joan is that Joan was in denial did not get any form of help whatsoever and no medication whatsoever not to mention she liked to drink bipolar disorder and Alcohol are a bad combination. Naomi had a lot of childhood trauma she was raised by parents who were very rigid and cold and never really displayed any affection towards her not to mention her first formed memory she had was when she was three and that was when her uncle tried to molest her and a lengthy family history of mental illnesses ran really high in her family. Wynonna her spoke very publicly about their personal relationship struggles with each other and considering Naomi gave up being a nurse and moved to Nashville just to give wynonna a chance at a career not to mention that wynonna didn’t really have the confidence to get up and sing in front of people and her mother made her feel more comfortable and secure I don’t think she was jealous of wynonna.

It’s so sad when we watch someone as blessed as Naomi was and see how much she never really got that many suffer and God blesses us all. To appreciate seemed not within her and yes I know she was having mental issues. I watched a tour her and Wynona were on and at the time I felt so sorrowful for Wy as Naomi was always negative and it was not fun to watch. They were on a tour bus. I feel so sorry to hear of this terrible note running down her daughter Wy as that girl gave her all. I pray she will get through this terrible thing but she needs our prayers for sure. She’s a great singer and deserves credit for doing her best! Prayers for you Wy!

Some suicides are partially acts of revenge. On top of everything Naomi was dealing with, she can certainly be forgiven for irrational behavior. it is just so sad that she suffered so much.
If this was a suicide letter why is it on a Post-It note? And could it be possible she had wrote this when she was angry at her daughter and then someone else used this when they found it? How is it that she shot herself in bed but in the photo it shows the gun on the dresser not on the side table but on the dresser! 😮😮😮 Either this was a stage crime scene or police didn't do a correct job in taking pictures of the original scene or they just didn't release the rest of the photos! 😮😮😮
My Mom left us all a hate letter also with her will papers.I don’t understand because we all did try very hard to help her as much as we could.
