Truth is the Path to Salvation
"Once upon a time... in a land far away, there lived a kind-hearted boy named Yahya. He lived with his mother after his father passed away when he was a young child. This boy was raised by his mother, who taught him the value of truth in everything, making him an honest boy who never told a lie.
One day, Yahya decided that he wanted to travel to a neighboring country to seek knowledge. Before his journey, he went to bid farewell to his mother. His mother said to him, 'Oh Yahya, I want you to pledge to me on honesty... so he pledged to her that he would always be truthful and never lie. Trusting in God, Yahya set off after gathering his books and a little food. His mother gave him forty dinars, which he concealed under his clothes so that the thieves on the road wouldn't see it.
Yahya traveled with a caravan heading to the town where he would study. But while they were on the road, bandits attacked them, stealing everything in the caravan and leaving nothing behind. After the bandits had taken everything, the leader of the thieves saw Yahya standing there. He started mocking and taunting him, saying, 'Look at this boy, his clothes are so old'.
 
Then the leader of the thieves called out to Yahya and said, 'Come here, boy.' Yahya looked at him, feeling intense fear. The leader of the thieves called out to him again and said, 'I told you to come here... come here, or I'll kill you.' So Yahya went to the leader of the thieves and asked, 'Yes... what do you want from me?'
The leader of the thieves laughed and said, 'Do you have any money?' Yahya replied, 'Yes... I have forty dinars hidden under my clothes.' The leader of the thieves fell silent, looking at Yahya with intense anger, and said to him, 'Are you mocking me? You have a lot of money and you reveal it so easily.'
Then he said, 'Woe to you if you lie to me and mock me. Do you really have forty dinars?' Yahya replied, 'I am not mocking you, this is the truth... I indeed have forty dinars.' The leader of the thieves looked at Yahya, the anger in his eyes subsiding. He said to Yahya, 'I will search you, and we shall see. If I find out that you lied, I will kill you immediately.'
 
Then the leader of the thieves called his men and said to them, 'Search this boy.' The men rushed and searched Yahya, and they found the money, giving it to their leader. He counted it and indeed found forty dinars. The leader of the thieves was astonished and said to Yahya, 'Why did you tell me about the coins you had? And what made you tell the truth to me, knowing that I would steal them?'
