I’ve been watching tons of videos on Iceland to plan our trip next October. This video is exceptional, stunning, my heartfelt thank you ! You belong in the film industry! I look forward to your future videos.
Wow. thank you for your kind words. I'm glad if you like my work. I envy you that you still have your journey ahead of you. Enjoy every minute. You will definitely not be disappointed. It is an extraordinary and beautiful island worth exploring.
Steven nicely put together video. Lots of drone shots. Could you please tell me what drone you used to capture these? Also what month were you travelling?
The pictures were taken in September 2022. A great time for a trip to Iceland. September is a low season in Iceland. There are not too many tourists and still the weather is good. I can only recommend this time. The pictures were taken with a DJI Air 2S.
Steve I visited your website looking for the LUT that you used in your "Fire and Ice" video. The link takes me to your website but looks like it is still "coming soon". Will you be eventually selling your LUTs?
After watching this video, I am once again keen to visit Iceland after visiting there recently. It was beautifully crafted with embraced voice-over. Experiencing winter will be my new motivation to visit Iceland. Would it be possible to do it together?
It's such a perfect place for photographers or videographers because the sun is in perfect position almost all day and the light is softer and more expressive. I'm looking forward to an Iceland winter film from you. Have fun.
Fantastic video sequences! Might I suggest - lowering the music level when you're speaking, along with raising the audio levels of your voice? It was difficult to hear what you were saying with the loud music background :)
Hi Juliet! Wow, I envy you that your trip in August is still ahead of you. Iceland is just a wonderful and indescribably beautiful island. There is a large parking lot at Dettifoss waterfall that you can use. From there it's about a 1.5 hour walk to Hafragilsfoss. The hike is well marked. But if you want, I can send you the route we took. It is definitely a must see! We were completely alone on this trail, because many people don't even know that there is another beautiful and powerful waterfall. Don't miss out on this incredible experience!
@@stevenandreasmatter Hi Steven, thank you for the response. I would love it if you could share the route to Hafragilsfoss, I will reach out to you via e-mail. I'm looking forward to this great adventure and can't imagine the beautiful sites we will see. Thanks again!
Thank you for the kind words. The pictures are taken with several cameras. The drone shots with a DJI Air 2S and the ground shots with the Nikon Z6ii and a bmpcc 6k. Plus the Z lenses belonging to Nikon 20mm, 50mm and 85mm.
Which part of "do not climb on the plane" you didn't understand at Sólheimasandur? Few more years of such interesting content creators and there will be nothing to watch... I miss good old days when this plane was a hidden gem...
Awesome video Steven! Question about drone rules, did you request special permission to fly in certain location? if so, were they easy to get? thanks in advance
Hi and thanks for the compliments. Iceland is pretty straightforward about drone flying. Basically it is allowed to fly a drone in Iceland even without a permit. However, there are restrictions such as the maximum flight altitude of 120m etc.. There are also often places (mostly national parks) that are marked with a ban. These prohibitions must be respected. I can't say if there are special permits to be obtained there because I have never flown at such spots. But here you can find all the rules to follow: uavcoach.com/drone-laws-in-iceland/ All information without guarantee. Have fun and let me see your drone movie. :)
wonderful pictures, music, and post-prod.Just one advice : you should remove the voice-off, it's useless ("we had the chance to see a waterfall at sunset"...well we can see that) and it breaks the magic. Compare without the voice-off, you'll see I'm right and you get a true cinematic film, which is excellent once again
Wow, thanks so much for your tip. You're absolutely right. Sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees ;) . But I agree, that part of VoiceOver is superfluous. Unfortunately, I can't re-upload the movie, so this will have to stay that way with the voiceover for now. But thank you very much for the hint and try to pay better attention to it in the next film. Thanks for the compliments my friend.
Hello Vlad Just watched some of your short films. Really well done. I like the calm mood they convey. I especially liked your film "Snowy Mountains". Keep up the good work. Greetings.
Yes, the airplane wreck is highly recommended if you are ever in Iceland. It's a little bit haunted but beautiful. It is best to start early in the morning, otherwise you will have a lot of tourists.
Absolutely amazing Video. Very well done Steven!!!

Absolutely beautiful. May I ask, what side did you hike to Hafragilsfoss from? This looks like a 'must do' hike for our upcoming trip in August.

Во всей Исландии самое интересное это самолёт.😊А больше не на чо смотреть.😮
