I cry every time I watch this man singing his heart out as the world collapses. He represents everything that Ireland once was, he is the embodiment of an entire way of life that is disappearing in front of our eyes. Peace be with you, Mick. You are everything I wish the world would return to--freedom, happiness, beauty, love and joy. Thank you for this beautiful video.
Well said 👍🏻 God bless and save Ireland.
Great comment heart breaking
Relax yank
Not sure what you are getting at here, return to freedom? Peace? What island are you referring to?
@@ConorMackrell on about the world. He is right it’s a bigger mess now than a very long time.
He certainly did this Classic Irish and Dublin Song justice and then some and then some more . Wow, no words.
Absolutely.. it was impeccable
Surely the most beautiful and moving version of this song I’ve ever heard.
He blew it away. Needs to get it on iTunes or Spotify. And it needs to be as raw as this. What a voice he has
Sounds good but I can't see how it sounds so loud and clear without a proper mic in his face 🤔
It sure is a moving version alright... Moving half way down Henry street. 😂
Christ above that man can chant yuppa 🇮🇪🇮🇪
@@damienjoseph7540 his amazing voice ,propels the beautiful words, in the acoustic street of Downton Dublin.
Probably the very first time I've loved a cover more than the original. Amazing ❤️
"How are ya lads?"... doesn't skip a beat... Legend
Lol, true.
Seriously id love a night in a bar listening to this guy singing.
lets make it happen
That is not an impossible dream pal, i am sure Mick would play a few songs for you.
He's in the ploughman pub in kinsealy on Thursday
Hes in Peadar Kearneys every Friday evening too
Discovered this during lockdown and as soon as I could see my Granda again I got him and played it for him on TV blaring while we were having a drink. Never knew then I would have been playing this at his funeral 10 months later. Glad we shared the moment together and he agreed this was the greatest version of this song he had ever heard. Listening to it now makes me choke up but this version was as fucking brilliant as he was to me. Out standing
Been 4 years since i left Cork - this song makes me equally sad and happy. Sad how i miss home, and happy that my home is Ireland. What a song, voice and country.
Where did you go?
Its saddens me deeply that no matter how much i sing this great song ; I will never sing it with as much passion and talent as this fella right here. Big booming voice. Great stuff!
This song is fantastic definitely needs to be on Spotify absolutely beautiful every note every verse is full of passion and pride absolutely perfect
It is in Spotify bud
@@mickthebusker7917 legend Mick gonna be all over it now fantastic singer you are very similar to Luke Kelly with the passion in you're voice
What a legend this man is. Does tireless work for for the needy of every corner of Dublin while gracing us with his talented voice. Hero
Holy shit that was unreal what a voice
hope people realise how very special this is ... just captures the soul of the song .... by far my favorite version of this song i ever heard .. and i have worked in music over 30 years at this stage of my life ...

A song from isolation sang during isolation. Very poignant. Brilliant.

deadly track my good man.
Thank you for your excellent version.
Impossible to watch this without tears streaming down the auld cheeks
Ive watched this 4 times today and its not 10am. Watched it a few times yesterday. For me its such a powerful thing, not just the song but the whole process. Lockdown shouldnt stop talent being shared so walk it out and belt it out at the same time. Defiance while singing about a prison. The irony of that and we all serving this sentence
@@briancunningham7391 its not often a song hits ye soo hard. Its the perfect version, perfect location and time.
Thank you very much
This makes me think of my mum who passed away 25 years ago. She was irish but moved to Scotland when she was 16 . I feel so proud to be half irish and scottish. Proper Celtic through and through. This man has an amazing voice .
Jesus this man has raw talent singing from his heart you can feel the raw emotion from his voice ..will someone give this gentleman a record deal Quick .reminds me of the late ronnie drew rip .👍👏
Even the seagulls sound awesome!

Agree.
I wish we could see more of these video s n songs walking down our streets belting out the greatest irish ballads . Well done mick
Probably the strongest voice I've ever heard. The way it echos all down the street and reverberates off the buildings

The absolute definition of 'belting it out'. Incredible . . . incredible version of a stone cold classic.

Your voice makes me weep and explode with love all in the same moment. Thank you for sharing your lovely skills. ❤️ I’m wishing to see Ireland more then ever now.
Rarely heard such a great version. Simply great.
Mick. My father passed away in December aged 80, simply past in his sleep (blessing). He was a Derry man. His 2 favourite songs were "a Town that I loved so well"(obviously) and The Auld triangle. I cannot begin to express how much YOUR absolutely flawless renditions of these songs have helped me grieve and lament daily. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You will always be on my playlist. God bless yu. 🙏
Sincerest sorrows for your loss my friend. Thank you very much for taking the time to.message me god.bless stay safe
Hey Paddy it really is an amazing rendition. Just re-listening to it tonight, with 2 ice cold tins of Carlsberg😊
For me this is the anthem of the year Covid came to town. Hope you are well lad🇨🇮

I'm practically speechless! I even loved the walking along while singing it! I remember Glen Hansard doing it with a lot of different artists at the Royal Albert Hall and it was fantastic but THIS is the bomb! F##king amazing!!!
This just gets me every time. Just keep coming back to this time and time again. One of the greatest versions of this song ever. Timeless.. ❤

The most inspiring irish singer since the days of Sinead O'Connor doing the grammy's.
As an Irishman..im proud of you Mick!! Blessings brother.
This song became our lock down anthem. Such a lovely man. Salt of the earth
Best version of this song I have heard in a long time. Made SO much better by how he greets people walking down the street :)

I will be putting it on repeat over and over. Better than Dubliners. Best sound I've heard in my life.
Comparable for impact, compared to Pogues version too
Well done Mick! The world needs more of this!
Mick with this song can certainly be uplifting to anyone and I definitely thank him for this. Love him and can listen to him all day everyday
Fantastic performance give this man the respect he deserves makes me proud to be Irish 🍀🇮🇪

I come back here every few months. It’s my favourite version of this song. So much passion in that voice! ❤
For real i literally just said that to someone I can't get enough it's all just perfect and on point for me.
I can't stop listening to this.
Never heard this song sung so good before other than of course luke Kelly 👏 , that rough raw perfect tuned voice … truly amazing
It may not be a popular view but I find Mick's version far more passionate and powerful .
Wow what a great Dublin singing voice. Best version Iv heard of this song ,,he took it to a new level. Kool looking as well 👍☘️
I’m head of music staff at the Royal northern college of music and i very rarely hear something so moving and passionate, you have a beautiful voice.
If your head of music is your job not to find people like him with real talent .. I’d definitely pay to see him
@@markireland7541 Thanks for your comment Mark. It's a school of opera and we admit students based on their auditions. Certainly if I were a talent scout or an A and R guy who worked for a label I'd put him on the folk circuit and reap that sweet, sweet 10% commission for sitting on my ass while he sang like an angel.
From one retired old busker: Thanks for reminding me of the meaning of all those years I spent singing out my tunes...keep the spirit alive Mick!!! You're an inspiration to us all!!!
I don' t know why but i can' t help crying when i hear Mike singing this song, it' s a gift !! Thanks✨✨👋✨✨
I really do not know where to start. An incredible voice and wonderful version of this historic song, Obviously set on a modern Dublin morning on Henry st with a backdrop of seagulls competing with an invasion of multinational shop brands. Then the pure Dub voice, the howaya , the genuine Dub feeling. Makes be proud to be a Dub and still living along the two syllable Roy al canal
Sung in a raspy Dublin accent, absolutely spot on.
I'd love to be in a pub listing to this lad now.. Absolutely necking Guinness
Very rare for a cover to hit like the original. Un-fucking-believable. What a cover, what a voice. Transported me right back to a lock in singsong.
Hard not to listen to it over and over..
Listening to this all day today Mick.
Friggin wish I had your amazing voice 😀
This rendition is absolute theatre. Perfect song to reflect the trapped feeling of these troubled times!
Respect to this legend he sings it with feeling
Unbelievable lad should be a hit, number 1 absolute class , somebody send this to the radio
Still the greatest and most powerful version of this song.2024.❤
Brought chills down me spine, i recognise talent when i see it. A romanian living in wales
Mick. I've been going into work every day since lockdown. Nothing special about it but the city centre in Manchester has been desolate at times. I was hoping some legend at the council would seize the opportunity and blast some music out from the rooftops to help lift moral. I originally wanted something like Al Green, Jackie Wilson or Stevie Wonder. but after hearing this. I've changed my mind.
You can tell your Vocals were on form and you hit the sweet spot.
Haunting and poignant.
Maestro!
Hit me straight in the heart. Pure magic Mick. Thank you for lifting my spirit. The voice of a warrior.
What an incredible voice. Very powerfull. Great
Absolutely brilliant, sung with a Strong Dublin accent .Powerful 💙
A voice of freedom during hard times for everyone .
Thanks mate , from a scouser .
This absolutely slayed me. Completely transfixed even as I watch this for the tenth time in a row.
Absolutely class shivers all the way YNWA
Proud of my Irish heritage ✊ Respect to my Irish breathren. Love from New Zealand 💚

“How ya lads”, top bloke! Great version!
