I hope one is able to export velocity properly in order to render motion blur in other apps like blender/C4D/whatever. On particle level, as well as on mesh level. And please let it have proper alembic support this time. As far as I remember Embergen exported particles at one .abc file per frame which made it completely useless for C4D export, since C4D wants all frames in one file. Not everybody has the ability to rebake the thing with Houdini just to make it work in C4D.
And another one: being able to export a viscosity stress map, so you can alter the rendered roughness of the surface controlled by how "stretched" the honey is....
The cost for their software is a bit high for me, but kudos to these folks for actually selling the software rather using a predatory subscription fee.

17:10 the main reason why liquid sim take so long is because in Houdini you don´t just use a simple solver like here. Instead you run the simulation through a variety of optimizations that tweak the simulation to the special requirements of the particular shot. Does it stick to objects the way you want it. Do you even use sticky maps on the objects for variety? Does the sim maintain a stable volume? will it compress when it settles? Do I need to bake the entire mesh when only parts are visible? Does the sim even have to be realistic or does it need special art direction functions? So the sim runs through a lot of SOPS, gets cached on particle level, then another time on mesh level and then another time for export optimisation. I see why Liquigen will have its place for beginners and less demanding projects but there is a reason why its so fast. Because it offers a much more compact set of functions. It´s impressively fast, no doubt. The question is: How seamlessly will it integrate into a pipeline?
Some months ago i had to work on a water sim gig, used real flow and Cinema 4D (outdated I know) and I remember constantly checking if liquidgen was out. It would have made my life so much easier! Finally it is coming out, cannot wait for it!

a no brainer to buy , though I am an architect , but this life changing ! I don't look too much for being realtime , but at least pretty impressive than blender mantaflow , can''t wait for official release
Seems this would be usefull only at very specific usecase. Otherwise you prob need more control and integration and use native apps like houdini. But the dude making the software deserves it
Have you done any work with Gaussian splatting???? I'd love to see what you can do with them, there's loads of potential for camera tracking and VFX there
Take a normal coffee cup with coffee, drop a sugar cube in it and film it, not try simulate it and see how close it get, I often think simulations look a bit ff for they do not match to the real size, like it can look like we have an ocean in a cup when fluids are simulated, and that even we should be able to get size perfectly in most simulations.
This seems promising! I wonder if they will release a plugin for houdini for this? Also are there any projected estimates as to when a full release will be?
I guess I wouldn´t waste a minute on setting material properties when I have to set them again in C4D/Blender/whatever again anyway. But it´s a nice feature to have
19:15, I have a HDD that sits idle most of the time. When I open file explorer it has to spin up the drive which causes explorer to blank out like that for a second or two. There are some scuffed ways to get it to not do that. Windows had my HDD de-fragmenting every 10 minutes to keep it active.
hdd defragmenting is a horrible way to do this xD if you dont know already, in energy settings you can go to "advanced settings" and there in your energy profile (Balanced, Performance etc.) you can change the time after which the harddrive should turn off and can even disable the "feature" completely. ^^ I have it set to 30min so that I can have quietness when I want to watch videos or write text because I have a big (cheap) and loud server hdd for archiving in the pc :I
