That Hero player in the first duel just refused to read Howitzer's effect...heck most of the spell cards too

I understand not reading cards. I sometimes don’t read cards, But you would think after the plasma didn’t work he would read it. Or even if he didn’t read it, pretty sure being totally unaffected is the only protection they have ever given a card that works against plasma. Since you need to stop the negation for any other protection to still be live.

Okay, that Ice Barrier player was overeager or distracted. And I'm being generous.
First mistake: summoning Lancea in the extra monster zone. He was going to try and link summon into Anemone and go for the Coral Dragon into Crocodragon draw 4.
Second mistake: synchro summoning with the two remaining Ice barrier monsters. One lowers attack/def by 500 and the other one keeps opponent's monsters locked in their current positions, attack or defense.
Third mistake: Wasting Lancea's summoning ability on Bironic and level 11 Trishula! You can't even use Bironic effect unless it's your turn, and that Trishula needs to be synchro summoned for the banish 3 effect.
At that point, after realizing mistake #1, should've just ended the turn. Then use Lancea's ability to summon Raiho, and then Georgius.

He could also hold Georgius for when he had a monster to summon, he hadn't even used the starter's effect, and he already summoned Georgius from his hand
