Chantilly lace and a pretty face
And a ponytail hangin' down
A wiggle in her walk, and a giggle in her talk, Lord
Make the world go 'round, 'round, 'round 😊
You might find a “safe” spot on your property to move those rogue perennials to rather than mow them down. Then later as you’re planting your beds you’ll have extra “free” plants. The size of your property and big garden dreams will cost a lot and plant prices have been skyrocketing!
Good idea. Also check with friends and neighbors to see if they are thinning their perennials. You might get some extra plants that way too. Perhaps you could make a nursery bed along the right side of the property (as you face the house). Put your extra plants in there to keep them safe until you need them. Pile the soil up high so they are easier to dig up later.
if you have the rock, make a 2nd layer around your gardens.. the rocks will sink and will help weed growing into the flowers, your Mom is a work horse! so glad you have her !!!
If you're going with white finish paint add a tint to the primer so you know where you've painted.
Such a smart suggestion!!
Chantilly Lace for the win! It's white without being hospital white.
Yes, a grayish white is always nicer IMO. I don't like creamy white.
Yup it's a good choice and it's what a lot fo designers use for the clients homes. It's warm and inviting and goes with anything!!
I agree
Think you all just like the name "Chantilly Lace", screens don't give true colors. Need to be there to see real color
@@jburch1544 LOL no I just think it will brighten up her house ☺
I follow multiple interior design vloggers who swear by Chantilly Lace. Skippy always makes me laugh on your parents channel, but seeing him being held like he's a chihuahua in a cheetah print handbag is pretty funny. It's great that he had a fun day out, and probably good exposure to riding in the car. Everything is coming along nicely!
Chantilly Lace has my vote. Garden looks great. Please don’t discount Dave’s opinion just because he is color blind. My son is colorblind to a certain extent and has won many awards for his art work over the years.
Sometimes girls just like to play in the dirt. Always amazed at the blessings you have of family and friends (and pets)❤!
You could go around the flowers two or three times with the rock stacked ❤. It would be very pretty.
Chantilly Lace has my vote.
You've mad a GREAT start on your garden with lots of help from your mom, Abby. I've always thought that you take after your mother. Not afraid of hard work !! Your Dad is a fine example of 'hard work', too !! It's in your genes, honey !!
There once was a painter helping a customer select a color. 4 similar colors, as you are here, were placed on the four walls. The painter asked "Do you prefer one over the other?" The customer said "Yes". So painter brought all four together and the customer found that they were the same color the whole time! Abby you are correct when noticing the light, natural or artificial, its a major factor. Good luck
First after doing drywall for many years I am going to recommend you prime paint with PVA Primer it gives the paint an almost skim coat finish. Your mom is kickass she really is a hard worker!!! I am so impressed by what she accomplishes!!! Also I think your family is the best you are truly blessed!!!
Chantilly lace is a winner 😊
Chantilly lace looks very pretty.
Chantelle lace looks cheerful in every room!! Great choice👍
Make a stacked stone border around the flowerbed.
You got this! You are so blessed to have family helping. Love that.
Chantilly lace❤ Garden bed looks great! Maybe consider putting a strip of some sort of weed barrier/landscape fabric under the stone border to keep creeping weeds and grass from creeping between the stones.
The simple white and white dove are beautiful paint .
Well, I'm just different, but it's not my house. I'm old and I've told myself I'm NEVER going to paint any white "color" on my walls. I know yours will look great in the end, and will fit you very well. To each their own.
I have to agree
I need some color and warmth, I don't even paint my ceilings white.. I worked in a hospital so I've had enough of that.
It’s hard to believe you are at the point of SELECTING a paint color! I love the Chantilly Lace too. But remember- it’s only paint- the easiest thing to change in a home.
Making this home yours is what is the most satisfying, I’m sure!
I am happy to know those are others that agree with my dislike of white walls. I always don’t like white cabinets. This house will be lovely.
I never paint walls white .
Your great mom is in her element!
Chantilly Lace 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
Chantilly Lace!!!!🎉❤😊
Chantilly Lace for sure
Yeah ! A great start to a nice garden spot of flowers ! Go Mom, Abby , and Trudy . Yeah for family ! 🧡💛💚💙💜💥💫
To contain weeds under stones put a base of cardboard and sand, I like the suggestions of adding a couple of layers to the stone border.
Chantilly Lace!!
Chantilly lace ❤
DefinitelyChantilly Lace! 🎉
Love your paint choice. I too prefer white walls.
Paint colors are definitely a personal choice. White is not as easy a choice, as one may think. It seems that you don't care for a creamy white, but just don't choose a white with too much of a gray or blue/ lavender background, or your home will feel cold. Usually, initial choices are the right choice, but before you purchase a large amount of your choice, you may want to purchase a sample and actually paint small sections of walls. Chantilly Lace seems to be your initial paint choice. Try it and see if it really will work for you.
Your first landscaping project turned out beautifully 😍 You could use some of your stones for your front walkway. Is your front porch completion the next outdoor project?
Before local friends and contractors get too busy in the spring and summer season, it may be wise to get your driveway install scheduled. Then you can put up your beautiful new mailbox😊
I agree, I’d use those stones for a stone walkway; that would give it that country cottage look.
I get such a kick out of watching what you’re doing! Thanks for sharing your dreams with me in NC!
I picked the creamy white cause I like warm colors instead of cool shades! I'm so excited for you to start painting and for the kitchen cabinets to go in!!!!! Love your house!
You can get free pallets to stack flat rocks on and use Jim's skidsteer forks to move to store out of the way until ready to use. Then can be moved to place you're going to use them when ready. Found this good way to handle stone for landscaping
I am no garden expert but if you have enough stone I think making the stones 3 to four layers high around your gardens will tie the front landscaping into whatever you do behind the house with those large stone walls.
Chantilly lace is the best! The House looks Awesome 🙂
You should put a flower bed along the front of your porch, and use the rocks as a border for that too. I like the chantilly lace!
Goodness, that little bit of landscaping looks amazing!
Wew!, exciting, "look'n Good", is an understatement.,
We need one of Abby's statements...
" Ok, I don't want any one to freak out here but look how nice this color looks on this wall!". Ah ha.
Chantilly lace definitely!!!!
Chantilly lace for the win! Garden looks great !
Chantilly Lace is my choice and thanks to Mom Brenda for helping with the garden part. Also thanks Trudy for taking lights down off the poles... Good to see Skippy enjoying his time at the house. He has gotten so big. God bless you all and stay safe..
Make sure you check your lighting bulb colours too, they can impact how the paint looks x
Im sitting here watching you while a hired painter paints my bathrooms. Im finally too old to do a good job of it myself. You should have a yard cleanup party and invite all your family and friends. An all day cleaner upper and then some pot luck and sundowners in the evening or some such. Everyone brings a lawn chair and maybe a dish of food. Id go in a heartbeat for my friends or family. Who knows if you want to get rid of some things others may want it, too. Like the tin or wood or plants. Loved the CL color btw. Perfect.
What a neat idea about a clean up party followed by a pot luck or Hot dogs and baked beans, with friends and family.
Simple white❤
White is wonderful. Then everything you use to decorate, they will pop!!
You and your mom did a great job. I love to repurpose almost everything if I could.
That garden looks 1000% better!
Chantelle lace is the winner!!
It depends on what color your floor is going to be and cabinets in the kitchen. Each white has a different color in it so the one Chantilly Lace looks on my computer like it has more blue in it and the other two have more yellow in them. Of course my computer screen could affect the colors I'm seeing too. I like the Chantilly Lace the best too.
The flower garden adds so much value to your yard. You and your Mom attacked this job with vigor. (But your muscles will be very sore for a couple of days)
You are so fortunate to have all that stone. Saves you a lot of money.
A Whiter Shade of Pale.
Hello from the rocky mid coast of Maine, US.....
The more neutral the colors you paint on the walls, the easier it will be to change other things that will go along with what you currently have. It's fairly easy and inexpensive to buy new drapes/curtains, rugs and throw pillows also. I have had artwork for my walls for years. I have experimented with wall colors with them too. Same with my bathrooms. White fixtures and walls can so easily be swapped out with accessories. Such as towels, soap dishes.
Chantilly Lace looks great.
Abby, you could move the stones to temporarily go outside your sliding doors so u can use them until you get your patio done
Chantilly lace is in my opinion just a true white. No undertones, just white! Its a nice color choice to start and build off of!
If you have furniture and fabrics with colors that are warm you need to stay in white paint with yellow undertones. But if the decor and fabrics you will be using in the room are cool colors such as gray, use white paint with a cool undertone. Your house looks great! I’m excited to see it finished
Reminder to keep all your cardboard to put down in the flower bed to keep weeds down.
PG here Raining, mostly drizzelly day is perfect to burn up some of the wood. My suggestion for stones is pile them on the flower bed stones for now. Taking them off as needed. Nice display that way. Burn up the wood. It is Great to see the mudding and sanding almost done. White every where isn't my cup of tea. My daughter loves it. Study color. Different colers effect the brain. Pepto bismol pink is calming but a doctor's surgical gown green is really calming. Brown causes people to be trusting, black is authority and navy blue. There are list that explain it all. God made the sky blue, the earth green and gave is a sun and moon for light. I think he is the only one who did it perfectly.
I’ll bet Skip gets over his fear of riding! He’ll be asking to drive in a month or two.😂
Just can't believe you are at this stage did you ever think you would see this day unbelievable well done ❤❤❤❤
You could put a border of stone around the edge of your porch. It wouldn't eliminate the need for edge trimming but it could reduce it. Also there would be less dirt splash up against the porch.
I noticed Jay "lurking" in the background - I guess he wanted to wisely stay out of any color selections. Typically, it's the 'lady of the the house' who makes the selection - in this case, it's our dear Abby !!
You could always use the Chantilly Lace, which I love too,for the walls and to break it up a bit so it doesn't turn out sterile looking, use one of the other whites for the trim. Very subtle difference but gives everything a little depth . I can't wait for painting to begin. The house looks so wonderful already. Take care.
Use a weed Wacker around the new garden...let the day lollies grow up, then pull them when they are dormant in the summer.
rule of thumb when choosing colors for the walls. Darker color (accent color) goes on the wall that has windows. The brighter color always goes on the non window walls. Reason for that is it will brighten up the rooms with natural light. You will notice the difference right away. also an off white which is the one you have with the yellowish tones will soften the light so things are not overly bright. You also need to check those colors on the walls with lights on in a night setting as well. light from fixtures change the colors big time. they may look good in natural light but then become washed out under the room fixture light.
Use all the rock in your garden as a path border. And use the timbers as temporary borders around your gardens until you get them the way you want. The first white is a warm white that is good with brown tones. The second is too white that can be used with more of a color pallet. the third is a cool white that can be used with blue tones. But the Chantilly lace would be my choice. It seems to go better in all the rooms.
Chantilly Lace ❤😊
Put some trim work along the roofline of your porch and carry it over the top of that big industrial window in the front of your house to give it a more cottage like look.
You could also make a nice fire pit with some of the stones. I like the white you chose.
I love the stones. My husband made. Stone wall about 2-1/2 feet high with an opening for my mother to make her rose garden. He did a great job of the dry stack stones.
Chantilly Lace definitely! Maybe a burn pile day and clear up the junk.
I was a decorator for years, my favorite go to for white was Snowbound by Sherwin Williams. If you haven't picked yet, you might look at it. It's a soft white and does very well in a farmhouse style. It's very calming, but still white.
Chantilly Lace is nice . Your garden will look lovely , it is a backbreaking job digging weeds out .
Chantilly Lace is my pick....it doesn't throw a yellow hue like the simple white one does...you will LOVE Chantilly Lace once the walls are all done!! AS me how I know 🙂
The third one looks more yellow the two other ones look good! The first one is pretty!
Absolutely--CHANTILLY LACE!!! ❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Chantilly Lace is my choice. I didn’t think I’d be able to tell on camera, but from what I can see that looks best.
Chantilly Lace for sure!! Love it so much.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this but colour changes depending how bright the area is that your painting, a sunny spot will make the colour look brighter and vice-versa if that makes sense. Just a helpful hint. It is nice to see you are at this point now.
Love what you done with what you already have
My favorite white is from Behr. Whisper White. It’s the perfect amount of creamy without being yellow at all.
Chantilly Lace! It looks really good.😊
I think chantilly lace is perfect. You guys are the hardest working people! I love how you see the beauty in your accomplishments. The garden will beautiful when in bloom❤️
Getting a little ahead of yourself. Lots of sanding before you get to paint 😊
Hi Abbey. .. that Chantilly Is too much of a bright white ~ I love a punch of colour. 🥰…. For me 1- simple white or even the Dove. Both so lovely .. l see Dove in the bedroom , would be nice calming ☺️regardless , your house will be spectacular and I’m sure any colour will be lovely ☺️Do ~Have a great day. ❤
Chantilly Lace must be the color of the year, ive seen wuite a few content creators use it in their designs lately. The little patch of garden is lovely. It makes sence to tacjle your yard a patch at a time, not so overwhelming that way.
The camera doesn't do any of them justice. If you can get the color strip for each one, you can see where the colors derive. Always helps to see the base color (like the yellow that you don't like). Against the grey of the drywall they all pop! Good luck! Lots of decisions ahead!
My niece recently painted all the rooms in her home using Chantilly Lace and it’s a beautiful white.
I'm jealous, I miss lilacs, they're actually my favorites. Growing up in Michigan, our side yard had them, so very fragrant, ours were purple. Living in Florida now, they don't grow here. I like the stones around the area, good use for them, can also use them as pavers for a sitting area or pathway.
I'm with the crowd on Chantilly Lace. Also agree, one color all the way through.
The dog - had one like him years ago, mine was Belgium Malinois, very intelligent breed.
Definitely Chantilly lace the garden looks great Nice to have all the free stones if you have to buy them they're expensive ,,,looking good keep up the good work ........
In my area of PA there are Amish men who will dismantle & remove sheds etc for free and they will reuse or recycle the materials. Just an idea to explore. Great start on the flower beds.🌷
I think your choice of the chantilly lace white color is a good start for your paint choice. I really like to start with a soft not Stark white when first moving into a home. After a while then you may feel like adding a touch of color in certain areas of your home. I must say I have lived in the "Northern NY" area for almost 15 yrs and most people have all white walls in their homes. I come from the South Eastern coast area and tend to prefer to have a touch of color on the walls. Even if only an accent wall, yet everyone is different. I am just excited to see the progress in your home and I cannot believe that you are at the stage of choosing your paint color! Who knows you may be in your home before the "snow flies" at the end of October. 😁
Chantilly Lace is such a great white because it has no undertone. I have it in my home and love it.
Chantilly Lace gets my vote! You need long handled nippers to cut the big roots. This is what I love to do!
Chantilly Lace
The one you like, looks more blue white
