ABOUT US:
Hello! I’m Vivienne, the châtelaine of a small 19th century neo-Renaissance castle in the Loire Valley of France, which I share with my delightful (and wonderfully funny!) husband, Simon, our daughter, and -whenever possible- lovely friends and family.
This is not our first chateau! 23 years ago, we bought a much larger castle nearby, which we loved with all our hearts. However, nearly 2 decades, many happy memories, countless renovations, and several small fortunes later, we made the very difficult, empty-nesting decision to downsize. With great luck and perseverance, we found our current petit château, which we are now decorating and updating with love, humour, comfort, and -of course- antiques and art!
We adore France and its many unique facets: its people, culture, landscapes, wine, food, art, and history. We also love being surrounded by châteaux, both public and private, which we can explore together! After 20 years here, we have learned many things about living in France, renovating châteaux, and appreciating the extraordinary riches surrounding us. We originally decided to make these videos as a way to share our lives with our loved ones worldwide during the pandemic lockdowns. However, we soon realised that many others are at home alone, and it is our privilege to open our home to you, our new friends. We hope you will join us on our adventures in this exceptional location, and we look forward to sharing a little Château Love!

Oh, Vivienne, I love the Wedgwood cuff links. Unfortunately, I rarely have occasion to wear them anymore and I don't think I can fit into my tux either. I have scores of fabulous ties that just sit in my closet now waiting for a turn on the catwalk.
I'm so glad you met Stuart and Patrick. I thoroughly enjoy their vlog. For me personally, I find Patrick particularly endearing. We seem to have a lot in common. No offense to Stuart, I'm an extrovert like Patrick. I'm the chatty one at a party, I can talk to just about anyone. It drives my sister crazy.
I was just in Orlando 2 weeks ago. I love that there are palm trees everywhere. We have palms here in north Texas, but nothing like FL.🌴

I'm glad you went to NASA while in Florida! From one set of nerds to another, this visit was great!!! My husband and I went to Orlando to Epcot Center and to the Kennedy Space Center on our honeymoon 37 years ago. Charles also has been up to where they would work on the Space Shuttles out in the high desert of Southern California. Was a long time ago. :) I LOVE hearing all the interesting things Steve Smith shared about how to sleep in space, etc. You just never think of those things being here on Earth! Fascinating!!!

Can you buy the items and then have them mailed/ shipped home to France? Have you ever tried bamboo sheets? They are better than the highest-count cotton sheets IMO. So luxurious. Lovely video as always. I loved the NASA space center, with my son we visited while he was studying in Tampa, and doing a tour of Florida. We had heard there was to be a satellite launch while visiting. So we got up at 6am the next day and saw the launch from the outskirts . It was an amazing memory it was unplanned but will always cherish that holiday.
