Found you via DMS who recommneded you. Your Microphone is fantastic, it's the clearest I've heard for reviews for a while. I do like the way you present the review as well. Subbed. BTW have you heard the A50? I know it's a 7.1 which you say you don't like, but I have to say, with a fair amount of audio gear, it's musical ability is pretty surprising and detail is good for gaming as well.
I believe if you set the toggle on the 2.4ghz USB adapter to PC and then connect it to Apple’s USB camera adapter, you can get lossless audio out of an iPhone. Not entirely sure if it is indeed lossless though.
Mobius: We have cool headphones for you, but in wireless mode, their chips do not work. Penrose: We listened to consumer wishes and added a 2.4GHz link to remove Bluetooth restrictions and Bluetooth-level encryption, but we'll probably clean up that rubbish (3D sound).
Sound I'll give it to the Penrose. Not a night and day difference but there is a difference there. However, with the Arctis pro wireless your getting a complete package. Swappable batteries, Chatmix (Penrose also doesn't have this), and DTS headphone X 2.0 surround sound (although it's also virtual, it's much better than Dolby Atmos surround). It also is highly customisable and the mic is better imo. One thing to note: the Penrose feels really tight on my head so I actually returned it due to it causing headaches. So overall I would get the Arctis pro wireless, as if your gonna get the Penrose, your losing a lot of features and comfortableness and such, so if you want sound, just get a pair of non gaming cans.
@@sh4rpshooter782 I ordered both and totally agree. Further, the Penrose couldn’t adjust the eq with my iPhone so had to send back because of it. But the default sound on Penrose was better. But like you said not enough to give up the other options. Now I got to figure out why my Arctis pro mic doesn’t register with my ps4 original. I can hear my side tone though?
didn't notice any clipping or weird distortion artifacts throughout. sounds great! i wonder, though; are you using some sort of acoustic treatment in your room?
Currently no. I am not currently at a super permanent residence so I didn't want to go through everything to treat the room. Eventually I will get to that when I get somewhere more permanent.
Just buy them and see how yours sound like. Pretty much all and every wireless headset/headphones have some sort of noisefloor. Some people hear them more, some people hear it less. Some are better some are worse. But all wireless headphones I have listened to had SOME form of hiss at some times. Which you wont notice once you actualy play music with all of the better headphones.
They are awesome for FPS, you can really track people well on warzone for example so imaging as said is excellent and adjust Eq if needed with the Audeze on the fly, very fast to switch profiles on the fly with your phone next to you connected by Bluetooth, mic quality I'm told is a good 8-9 out of 10, the soundstage is good for a closed back
@K C you can connect them by Bluetooth to your phone app while having wireless game audio working at the same time, can literally click the preset buttons on the phone app to change them on the fly and save 👍🏻
@K C yes the headset is made for the ps5 and Xbox series x in mind, makes me laugh with the reviews that alot of them review it on pc when that isn't the main target audience. Yes I've messed about with a preset just for fun, there is five tabs labelled preset 1 to 5 and it has an equaliser lost of slider for all the ranges like 2khz etc etc, you click on a preset and adjust the sliders to your liking, once you are happy then if I remember right there is a save button. I haven't tried the astro headset before but I have tried the mixamp and other dac/amps like the creative g6 , tons of high quality headsets and headphones from beyerdynamic, sennheiser ,Philips etc, the sound is so crisp on the Penrose , it would wipe the floor with the astro A40 on a sound quality comparison, the planar magnetic drivers are very impressive. My only slight negative is that they take a bit of adjusting to get the comfort of them right . I recommend you check out a headset/headphone reviewer called "mad lust envy" on head-fi.org he is the Bible for gaming review s for audio use
Do you get any popping? Does it happen in wireless mode? I've connected mine and occasionally hear popping and wasn't sure if the headset was defective.
I just picked up the HyperX Cloud Orbit S (the HyperX Mobius lol) and I absolutely love it! Caught it on sale for $199 and it is absolutely worth every penny.
I've read in reviews about it that after a while they starting to rustles like polyethylene when you move head set on your head (put on, on just turn head and so on). There is some kind of membrane is membrane inside which peals off and starting to make this noise. Maybe HyperX fixed it though, I'm not sure.
How is the comfort? I'm worried it'll press down too much on the top of the head, versus with steelseries the ski-goggle band spreads the weight out more.

Penrose X were a disappointment. Sound was amazing, but design and quality (made of plastic) were horrible. They have 2 dials on the left ear cup. One for headset volume. And the other for mic volume and if u click the wheel in it gives u maybe a 2 second window to adjust game/chat volume which u have to keep clicking over and over at the end of ur match to balance out the game noise to hear ur friends. By the time u get it dialed in boom ur back in the next match have to adjust again lol It’s irritating man. I found my myself opening up the chat settings for Xbox multiple times a day to figure out what I was doing. And no u cannot change the headset volume settings through the console. Everything has to be done on the headset. I just sent mine back after 2 weeks of use. Sound was amazing. Mic was too long and flimsy but sounds amazing. Everything else about it is poor. Left ear cup sound like it has foil in it and won’t stop making a crumbling noise. The suction of the earcups is pretty tight to the point where my left ear drum was being sucked on and pulled out of my ear. U guys know that feeling? If not put the palm of ur hand over ur ear and press hard then let off. It’s that feeling. The headset is made of plastic. Doesn’t have LED indicator to let u know ur mic is muted. What year are we in again?? Also everything has to be done on the headset which I stated earlier is a FREAKING nightmare. I don’t know what Audeze was thinking when they developed these. Sound is great. Everything else is just poor. I’m mad. Tired of these companies trying to finesse everyone out of a quick buck. Make 1 headset that does it all please. So tired of corporate America. If we could put the great sound quality of the Audeze Penrose into the headset of the LucidSound LS50X headset that would be the perfect headset for everyone, I believe. LS50X were great in every aspect especially CONTROLS except for the sound WHILE gaming. Sound for listening to music and movies however was awesome and freaking epic!! Spot on review and I agree with the conclusion versus Mobius - in fact I literally sold my mobius as soon my pre-order Penrose arrived.
What wireless headsets do you find to have the best audio quality?
The Penrose
